  • Prior to his concert at the Wang Center in Boston on December 3, 1990, John was interviewed thoughtfully and respectfully by Tom Bergeron. Highlights include:
    * acting/film career
    * music styles being cyclical
    * Washington DC Xmas concert next weekend
    * Will ask President Bush about key environmental steps and playing for troops in the Persian Gulf
    * favorite/meaningful songs - universality of music
    * connections to the audience
    * personal NASA history, Challenger tribute by students
    * voice training & experience, routine to ramp up
    * future goals, life in balance
    * optimism, what does it take to learn and to act? [ It's here the video cuts off prematurely before the end of the interview. ]

    Thank you so sharing this. He is terribly missed and oh, I can only imagine the songs he would be writing especially during these insane times !!

    Damn! I wish we would have had internet back then. I would have taken the two hour drive down to see him - both here at in concert at the Wang or when he did the Harbor Lights Concert. :-( He's so beautiful - and I mean that in all ways, his soul, his heart, himself....

    Darn, waiting to hear what he had to say 😁
    He seemed quite moved by the high schoolers.
    Thanks, again another unseen video.
