well, it uses a piston engine similar to cars, eletric startup, its uses avgas as fuel aviation gasoline, larger choppers use jet engines called turboshatf wich are fed by aviation kerosene.
No problem. My friend (the heli nut) doesn't really care for Robinson helis. They have limited total time..in short: disposable. He has re-furbished two Enstroms, two MD 500's, and is working on another Enstrom.
Excellent video!! Neat chopper!! What kind of an engine does that chopper have? Is ir a turbine jet or is it a different engine? How do you rev ip the engine? What kind of fuel dies it rake? Sirry to ask si many questions. Just wanna kearn about the helicopter.
my first helicopter ride was in an r-44... i want to ride in a r-22 or another r-44 but one with the doors of like this one in the video :) i think it would be cool :)
Don't know about this particular one, but there are 31 FS on controller right now ranging from 69,500 to 275k. Thanks for watching, and good luck learning to fly helis.
Ah, I've heard good things about Enstroms. I personally am a big fan of Bell's helicopters, like the Jetranger or Huey. Those things are super reliable.
I would of thought that Piston Helicopters would take a bit longer than 2 minutes to liftoff from engine start. I know that specifically twin turbine medical helicopters take about 5-10 minutes to lift off after receiving a call but in that case the pilot runs through the pre flight check list at the beginning of each shift.
no offense to the pilot in the aircraft, but I honestly don't take my left hand off of the collective when I start to start up the R22. Could just be different schools of training where I try to keep the engine close to 50-55% while the rotors are coming up to the same percentage. Obviously it hasn't happened here, but from what I know the engine can quit if the RPM gets too low.
Not the bearings, it's the drive belts that are grabbing onto the main rotor drive shaft. They make that noise when the clutch is half way engaged and that's the belt slipping until it has full tension.
it´s bullshit technology.. many of them have crashed...very unreliable piston engines that allow for a lot of failures ( wrong treatment by the pilot) ...listen what it sounds like when he spins up the rotor... sounds like the grinding gearbox of a 1935 Cadillac
I agree Robinson helicopters are pieces of shit. We have one at our flight school and everyone hates it. Very dangerous aircraft, lots of crashes from experienced pilots. Not worth my time
That's awesome! Thanks for posting! I really dig how it sounds like an older Dodge Ram Diesel truck at start-up; before the rotors begin to spin. (hey that rhymes) I heard that same sound at the El Monte Police Open House when the Departments helicopter took-off at the end of the event. The police's helicopter is a R-44 I believe?? Thanks again!
Your country is the region of abundance...😊 Abundance in aircrafts, private planes, private helicopters and aviation training institutes 😶☹ But my God damn nationality is something else😖😶
Brilliant! I had my first ever helicopter flight last weekin an R22. It was a trial lesson for my 70th birthday, it was absolutely superb!
Bravo !

Rotor speed is thy shaft of life
So nice I watched it twice! I start my flight training this weekend on an R-22. So nervous. Thanks for video.
Thanks for the kind comment. Good luck !
How'd that go?
@@floored3078he crashed
I wish that engine would be in some car xD
Thanks for the reply. Man, I wish these things were cheaper... Guess I'll be saving up for a while. Keep up the good flying! Fly high in blue skies!
It's the scooter of the helicopter world.
I guess you haven't heard of Mosquito Helicopters yet..
HyperSpify
Yeah I’m glad he hasn’t heard of that nightmare. Yet...
@@kingofthekoopas8857 wouldn't one of those be to an R22 what an electric skateboard is to a scooter?
The scooter of the sky!
Thanks for the kind comment...4 cyl piston engine running 100 LL avgas I believe. The throttle is a twist grip on the collective lever.
Esse R22 beta tem motor a diesel?
I had one lesson in an R-22. They are a neat little chopper.
Woah, that lift off ❤️
Nice weather, and cool looking heli!
I really love the perfect green grass of this video :D
O.k. thank you, Thank you for sharing.
Interestingly, this is normal for an R-22. Thanks for watching :-)
That tail boom is really shaking.
That's a "feature".
You mean flexing!
Hi sir
That's a fun looking little helicopter, and I believe you can store that in your garage, like you can with experimentals.
nice vid man i love that machine
cute how much does it cost?
awesome video! i love that helicopter
Last time I took a lesson at Frederick airport, it was around $250/ hr if I remember correctly.
Ich liebe auch die Heli Serien, wie Medikopter 117 u Die Rettungsflieger.
GTA Vice City brought me here.
NIce video!

Cool, thank you.
How much did that R-22 cost? I'm thinking about getting a pilot's license, and I would like to know how much these go for. Thanks!
hi i am i r22 pilot that was a very good take off
+Raj Singh - Hi - I will make a point to tell the pilot. He has since moved up to an Enstrom. Thanks for watching, and the kind comment.
what is that wobbling called in aeronautics terms?
Lovely video of a very smart looking little ship :-)

Fantastic yeah

so good video
Love to take off like that in my back yard!

Does it have a truck engine?
nice very nice
Muito bom, já sobrevoei em um R 44 Aqui em Salvador-Bahia-Brasil
It does look nice in this vid. Thanks for watching. :-)
it cranks up faster than a enstrom
MookieFreeman still always depends on how good of condition your Robinson is in. This one looked pretty new. But yeah your mostly right
how max altitude?
Nice! Please do. Thanks again.. :-)
that thing is loud!

Damn! That helicopter sounds like a truck!
Perfeito.
Not sure if I care much for all the vibration of the tail. That normal ?
At certain RPMs, yes.
nice choppa :)
на скольки тыс об/мин взлёт происходит?
Cool
Is it weird that I grew up playing with one of these actual helicopters and many single winged planes as a child??
Nah
Thanks for watching...Enjoy.
Круто
Do they come with doors?
Thanks for the kind comment. Hopefully I will be posting more heli vids in the coming year.
Is the Bell 407GXP a bigger more powerful aircraft?
Yes it holds more than 2 passengers and is much faster and alot more expensive too purchase and operate bells are the Cadillac of choppers buddy
Ah, I've heard good things about Enstroms. I personally am a big fan of Bell's helicopters, like the Jetranger or Huey. Those things are super reliable.
The start up reminds me of a John Deer tractor...... Love the R22
Cute helicoptie
I like the design but can it have doors?
Thank you sir
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching. I will finally post some new vids soon.
I didn't like how it sounded when the blades were activated was that the clutch or what Making that grinding noise
Belt chatter I believe. Thanks for watching.
Is the Robinson R 22 capable of starting up and becoming air born within 2 minutes of engine start ?
Ummmm, looks like about 2:20

Is it a safe copter as many R22s have crashed.
@@donretsas1791all helicopters/aircraft are safe as long as there well maintained and the actual pilot is experienced
What's the price of this thing?
quarter mil
do they run on unleaded gasoline?
It runs on 100LL avgas

that sound tho

Aaron CMH Funny, because it can be a safety concern. But thanks for your completely -positive- feedback.
No problem…and it looked like he piloted the aircraft just fine on my screen.
Aaron CMH whatever floats your boat
Robinson.....*looks left, looks right* ......meh, they're ok I guess.
It all the time has to figure it critical time before the take off right now.
Sounds like to me that bearings in the tail may need a good look at.

Yes, it's a Lycoming 4 cylinder piston engine

Hello I in vn
Hey guys can I do uber with this chopper
Whats everyones favourite helicopter? For me Bell 206 used to be MD/Hughes 500 but after going up in a Bell 206 I fell in love with them again
No, no gyro for tail rotor. You must be thinking of scale models.
2:01 Grand Theft Auto Vice City Maverick helicopter
Yeah
Not a lot of headroom in it.
It would be cool to fly in a helicopter with no doors, you think?
