I have had this unit for some months now (using on PC), and have had great success programming the "thousands" XPDR rotary knob to adjust the elevator trim up and down. Flying with my right hand on the joystick I can slowly or quickly adjust the trim using my left hand, quickly achieving level flight. I have the hundreds, tens and ones programmed normally to adjust the transponder, but replaced the thousands adjustment using the X1 shift. On the rare occasions I need to set a new XPDR code I just hold down the X1 button for the thousands number. Having a convenient way to quickly adjust the elevator trim is an excellent use of this unit. All the other buttons as set as recommended and the whole thing is a great addition to the keyboard and joystick buttons. It nestles in snugly with the power cord along the bottom right corner of my keyboard, held in place by my joystick base on its right.
Hi Mark, Thanks so much for your excellent review of this unit. I have placed my order for a MIAP Pro. I have a Honeycomb yoke and Bravo connected to an XBOX Series X but the MIAP will compliment these units nicely by allowing easy access to the Com and Nav radio settings as well as the transponder. Looking forward to getting it installed.
Mark...I now have both units (the MILI23 and the MIAP Pro 24). They provide a LOT of realism and immersion to the sim and it certainly saves time "twiddling" in the cockpit with a mouse as many of those same functions can now be assigned to the individual AXAIR units. That said, there have been numerous "complaints" and much frustration from those who find that they can't get the individual units to show bindings in the "Controls Options" page. If using both, for example, it often seems it was an "either / or" situation...one would work, the other wouldn't but not both at the same time kind of thing. After much experimentation, I've determined that it's the ORDER in which these peripherals are powered on that makes a difference. I've come up with a pretty foolproof way to avoid that. I posted it to your Discord page but if you're interested, how do I get a PDF with instructions to you?
Hi Marc, as always a very nice video. In VR however my preference goes to the Knobster rather than any device where I blindly have to memorize all the buttons and knobs. Perhaps if I would have a Quest 3 it will be a different case but I'm still using a G2...
A bit of a faff to configure initially but I’ve only had to do it once (as you point out). I’ve been using it for a few months now on my XBOX X and find it convenient, especially for changing altitude digits on both analogue and glass displays as well as COM, ADF and NAV frequencies. HDG and IAS buttons are a bit hit and miss especially on airliners (I fly LVFR airbus’ and JF 146). In hindsight, probably too expensive for the benefits it gives me in my home sim set-up but that’s subjective, of course. Great presentation Mark 👍
@@interestingvideos4046 I use Xbox X with a Turtle Beach Velocity One Flight with rudder pedals, Xbox controller, mouse and the MIAP Pro controller. Occasionally I use a keyboard as well but I find it as easy to enter departures/arrivals and customisation details with the controller 😀
@graeabarth2227 Never knew u could use keyboard and mouse on Xbox series x . I'll add that to my set up . Is the miap available in USA? What is your setting for the turtle beach trim tab in Microsoft simulator setting to get it to trim accurately?
@@interestingvideos4046 The MIAP is sold in the US but my dispatch (to UK) was from the Far East (Thailand?) but the company are US-based . The Turtle Beach trim wheel is a nightmare! When turning the heading wheel it seemed like it took quite a lot of turning to change the heading by a small amount. How much effort does it take to change heading by 180deg, or make a large altitude change? I don't use the encoder wheels on my throttle as they feel like they take way too much spinning compared to mapping to a button with autorepeat.
True. I use the MiapPro and it takes a long time. You could program the same dial however to change it by 10 degrees using the X1 or X2 alternate buttons.
Absolutely love mine on Xbox. Been using it before it was released and absolutely no issues at all. The wife uses my original one still works no problem. The MILI23 is also amazing
I use a simple tablet stand attached with velcro to my Velocity One yoke. The stand is adjustable, so you can set the angle of the MIAP. Cost me 5 euro.
I already have a remote keyboard connected to the Xbox series X. I assume this unit connects to the Xbox using the USB connector. do you know if I could still have a normal keyboard connected and have both units functional as well?
The MIAP is in fact a keyboard controller. That is why it works on XBox without any extras. To the XBox it is just another keyboard. So yes, off course it will work on FS2024. It will also work in any other XBox game that supports keyboard bindings.

I seem to see that order payment options are only by credit card. I do not wish to risk my entire bank account by giving a credit card number to some company overseas.
@@TPHI17 I have almost 1000 online purchases through Paypal, never lost a dime because the sellers did not know my credit card number. And twice got burnt from one of the few times I used a credit card number online. Suddenly, charges from all over the country appeared on our card. It took awhile and effort to get them removed.
@@SimHangerFS Thanks! Yes I tried all upper case, lower and all kinds of combinations but keep getting the same message, that the code/cupon does not exist.
Industrial strength Velcro will hold at almost the same strength than nuts and bolts and allows for much quicker changes. A 15 foot roll of 2" wide velcro will have a thousand uses around the home. I use it hold my flightstick down to a metal base. It takes at least the half the strength I have to remove that stick from the plate. Probably 100 times the holding force of double sided tape. Hopefully the 4 corner pieces are removable from the back of the MIAP. Velcro needs a flat surface. (I use industrial velcro to hold my Knobster to my flight stick: very solid mount and black velcro makes the installation appear to be factory custom.
