  • Watch Rocket Lab launch a dedicated Electron rocket for French Internet of Things (IoT) company Kinéis. This marks the 50th launch of a Rocket Lab Electron rocket.
    ‘No Time Toulouse’ will be Rocket Lab’s 50th launch since Electron missions began in May 2017. Lifting off from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, the mission will deploy five satellites for French IoT company Kinéis.
    The mission is the first of five dedicated Electron launches for Kinéis, a company backed by private and public investors including the French government’s space agency CNES (Centre National d’Études Spatiales) and CLS (Collecte Localisation Satellites) an international space-based solutions provider, to improve global IoT connectivity. Across these five launches, Rocket Lab will deploy Kinéis’ complete constellation of 25 satellites. The launch has been tailored specifically to meet Kinéis’ mission requirements, giving them greater control over launch schedule, orbit, and deployment parameters than would be possible on a larger rideshare mission.
    Launch Site:
    Launch Complex 1 - Pad B
    Mahia, New Zealand.
    Launch Window:
    The launch window opens on June 19th
    NZST and extends for 14 days. This launch requires an instantaneous T-0 and it remains the same for every day of the launch window.
    Time Zone Window Open

    I really liked this presentation by Felix and Jonathan. Very profession and sober. No mad whooping or unnecessary witticisms. Just straight forward, level headed enjoyment of the launch and flight, as they presented us with facts. 👍👍

    I'm subscribed and enjoy your channel.
    While I tuned in to this for your point of view I found that your auto muting of the Rocket Labs stream made me want to watch their stream instead. It was frustrating to miss what they were saying over and over again.

    On every launch, there is an issue with the telemetry information being partially or fully obscured with the WAI logo or other WAI graphics. Felix eventually gets the computer guy to fix this but this always happens many minutes AFTER the launch. Can you please get the computer guy to figure out placement of WAI graphics BEFORE the launch? Every Rocket Lab launch has their telemetry data in the same location so this should not be difficult!

    I don’t know if your team created the statistical info graphics around the rocket, but I can tell you that even thought I’m not color blind I could not read the red info graphics at all.
    Thank you very much for bringing this to us. I had no idea New Zealand had a successful rocket company. Doesn’t sound like they’ll leave the bolts lying around or the helium leaking.

    Hey Felix, I just heard you mention coming to my area to witness a Wallop's Island Launch. I live just 90 minutes south in Virginia Beach. Let me know if you need more crew or want to partner for for this event. Cheers! ~Jim

    Just wondering why space x doesn’t put heat tiles on the launch pad and more importantly, why don’t they at least cover the hood that continues to melt on every launch. Just wondering. I’m sure there’s a good reason why they don’t do this.

    How long does MAX-Q last?

    • @markhorton3994
      @markhorton3994 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Max Q is a point in time, theoretically of no duration.
      Q is an abreviation for aerodynamic stress. Speed increases it, lower atmospheric density decreases it.
      So Max Q is the point in a rocket launch where increasing speed is balanced by decreasing barometric pressure from height.
      Max Q is a significant milestone because if a rocket's physical structure survives to that point, it probably won't fall apart the rest of the way.

    • @BruceGordon925
      @BruceGordon925 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markhorton3994 So MAX Q is for one second then gone?

    • @user-hc9lp3hb1r
      @user-hc9lp3hb1r 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BruceGordon925 No. It's INSTANTANEOUS. Aerodynamic stress (Q) builds as the rocket approaches Max Q and then drops once it passes through Max Q so the time at and around Max Q is the most dangerous for the rocket to break apart.

    • @markhorton3994
      @markhorton3994 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BruceGordon925No. Max-Q is a point in time. It is not an event. Max-Q is the point on the curve of aerodynamic stress that is greatest.
