the glove box doesn't need taking out, as you said - what I do, is I disconnect the battery, then unclip all 4 connectors form the fuse tray so it can get out of the way - that makes the filter change very easy. It's easier and quicker to remove the fuse tray than keep faffing about with the glove box
I just paid my mechanic an extra $90 Australian dollars to change this filter on top of standard service… guess I will be doing it myself next time at that price! Really appreciate the video!

And what a rubbish design, on my Mazda 6 the procedure is 1 Open glove box, 2 open cover, 3 remove filter - no tools needed. This is a poor design from Ford.
I did mine around 2 months ago and it was a right pain to do however it made a day and night difference. If you have the tools then it will definetly make a difference
Dealership service history means that it’s probably had 1 actual oil and fuel filter change in its lifetime and by the look of that cabin filter it’s never been changed😂
I like pollen...Other than stopping grit getting into the fan I just don't get it...We come from out where the pollen and grit is,,we get in the car with the new pollen filter and wind the window down and then we step out into the pollen filled world when we arrive to our destination...I must be just old I guess.
And when your driving down the road and a bit of grit ect blows through into your eyes, active carbon ones help filter emissions ect also so not having one is stupid
I am a mechanic and I agree the sakes tactic of filtering the air you breathe blah blah blah. As you said we breathe when we are outside. But if you get that much crude in your filter, think about your evaporator core for the air conditioning if you didn't have the filter. I have replaced cores on many a car before these filters were on cars and many of them were half clogged from air flow. That's where I see the huge difference

Thanks. This is true! Just get the fuse box tray at the right angle and it pops out easily, then just disconnect the wiring harnesses.

Maybe if it ain't broke don't fix it! If they turn out to be as painful as this was to change then definitely get someone else to do it.
You ever changed the diesel tank filter underneath near the back end? That's annoying an all... if you have no stilts that is :)

It is easier for the cockpit filter to be removed by unscrewing the gas lever. I wish you good luck and I greet you from Poland.

No need to remove glove box. Just remove the white plastic fuse box carrier - makes a big difference

Fair point. It satisfies my automotive OCD to have clean filters. Not much point winding the windows down on a turdo diesel.
