    it's good to see Tormek upgraded to stainless. I had an old machine, that I bought new, and the center post and nut both rusted to such an extent that the machine was useless.
    I can't complain a lot because I did have the Tormek for something like 10 years, and it does produce a razor edge.
    On the down side Tormek never answered my question on how to repair the old machine. I bought some first class waterstones. It didn't take long to teach myself to do by hand what the Tormek did.

    Like virtually every other tool I havbe reviewed, some love the Jet, some do not. I have had very good luck with my JET over the years as have many others who have contacted me about it.
    I should note that Tormek went through an upgrade to their machine to get to the stainless parts that they did not originally have though the price was not lower back then.

    Can tormek jigs be used on a jet? jet has no jigs for skew's and tormek has an atractive one

    IF you were sharpening knives what would be the longest blade you think could be sharpened on the Tormek? Thanks

    @jedirifleman Here's another...Vizio LCD TVs vs Sony or Samsung. Vizio uses the same panels made in the joint Sony/Samsung plant (in their higher end sets) yet their stes typically cost $200-$500 less.

    • @flyingrcdotnet

      You need to ask Jet that.

      Looks like Jet just recently released it again as of December 2020 or thereabouts.

    @jedirifleman Hyundai vs Honda/Toyota? Yongnuo 565EX flash vs Canon 580EXII? Aldis grocery stores vs pretty much any other grocery store? Satellite TV programming vs cable? Do you need other examples or are you going to disagree no matter what someone says?

      Your Hyundai vs Honda/Toyota comparison is a bad example.
      Hyundai had more recalls than both Honda & Toyota combined... & their aluminum blocks are prone to cracking at around 100k miles, because the cylinder walls are thinner, than Honda's B-series & K-series engines.
      Hyundai cars also suffer the same problems as Kia... of premature ware of their front hub assemblies, ball joints, & tie rods.
      Replacing your front end after 50 - 60 - 70k miles is pretty lame, when Honda Civics & Accords are putting 200k + on theirs.
      And don't get me started on their CV axles.

    After beeing years confused about which machinery to buy - for each one I have a friend who's satisfied with it - I am going to spend the money for the T7 finally.. for the long term satisfaction..;o)
    For some taking apart and cleaning machinery may be life quality - for me it's an neccecary must..

    @jedirifleman You neglected to stay within the context of what I said...mentioning the higher end Vizio TVs specifically. No worries as you're clearly out of anything resembling a valid argument so I'll just leave you to show your continued ignorance here as I know you can't resist having the last word. Have a great day!

    @jedirifleman That old saw hasn't applied to most things in many years. It's the safe harbor of the person unwilling to open their eyes to new opportunities. There are so many examples of like items where the less expensive item is better than the more expensive one that it's hard to believe anyone still believe this! I do know the marketing companies like people like you!!!

    Precio? cuanto cuesta?

  • @jedirifleman
    @jedirifleman 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @iamtheav8r How about you scroll down and see the tormek vs jet comparisons and complaints? Easy to see the jet is cheaper because it rusts out and saves money by having no stainless parts. The jet won't last as long as a tormek so if we divide years of use by cost to come up with a yearly cost the tormek is cheaper in the long run due to quality of mfg. No need to run off about random products people never heard of from hong kong. Was that too hard to see or you just like to argue?

    @iamtheav8r LOL, have you read about all the vizio complaints???? Vizio dosen't seem to be able to hold up to sony or even sony's warranty. Hey, if having a tv that only lasts 1 year is cool for you then go for it. Like I said, there is one born every minute.

    @iamtheav8r Funny you should say I neglected to stay within parameters when you went on to talk about a grocery store. I find that bizzare to say the least since grocery stores mfg. nothing that I know of.

  • @jedirifleman
    @jedirifleman 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    @iamtheav8r Again, I feel honda and toyota are superior to hyundai. Don't even know about those fly-by-night others like yongnuo or aldis. BTW unless aldis grows its own crops I don't see the connection to mfg.

    I guess Tormek's patents ran out because there are several copycats...Triton, Grizzly, Jet to name a few.

    @iamtheav8r grocery stores just act like a middle man. Bizzare you felt the need to bring it up. I guess if they use slave labor or illegals to pick crops they can be cheaper...but then again I did say human suffering would be involved as 1 means to a lower priced product.
