Thanks! I've recently started climbing at a gym having not climbed since university. I find drills helpful in my main sport, running, so looking forward to trying these out. I'm getting to grips with V2 across the gym and starting to try V3s. Getting my head round I have leg strength aplenty to boulder, just need to develop an awareness of how to utilise it more efficiently. My forearms no longer feel trashed the day after a session now!
That's awesome! I also came from a sport with lots of drills (tennis), so I was also happy that these gave me that similar feeling of structure that I think more developed sports have. Hope they help :)
Working with a new batch of beginners atm, and the amount and quality of content compared to when i started 15-20 years ago is astounding. Nevertheless, you have found a niche here, and introducing the concepts as drills is helpful. Will share to the group who are just starting to cement v2 and make inroads into v3.
Been climbing for a year or so and this type of content is exactly what is needed. Good luck in your TH-cam journey, you’ll soon be in the big league if with sort of useful information. 😊
Great video. The quality is so good (writing, camera, editing), I was surprised to go to your channel and realise you're just starting out. Sad to have only 3 videos to watch, but excited to see what comes next.
Can't wait to try these! I've recently got bicep tendonitis from climbing which forces me to not rely on upper body strength, and I realise just how much technique gaps I have due to just brute-forcing everything! While I wait for my arm to heal I'll focus on developing proper footwork and revisiting easier climbs to try do them more elegantly. Thanks for sharing these tips!
I'm a newbie to climbing, but I really enjoy the sport and want to encorporate some drills into each gym session, so that I can hopefully progress quickly and get rid of some bad habits early on. This video was great!! Can't wait to try out some of these drills tomorrow!
Hi, I don't usually comment on youtube videos, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Even comparing your content to some much larger channels I prefer your content! (although of course it's nice to see all sorts of climbing content grow!). I'm going to recommend your videos as much as I can to people and I really hope your channel grows!! I'm excited to see what you'll make next
I'm really blown away by some of the encouraging comments that you and a lot of others have provided. As someone more introverted starting this channel was definitely scary, so I just want to let you know how much all of these comments motivate and mean to me. Thanks so much!
Loved this so much, as a climber and coach. I'm gonna try ro incorporate some of these in my client trainings and will make sure to tag you man! Great stuff
I really enjoyed watching your video and getting some great ideas for my next climbing session - especially the drill for heel hooking. I used to use heel hooks sooo much but I haven’t as much lately - maybe I’ll try it out. Nice work!
@@BetaBoiBrandon yes - it took a while for me to re-learn how to move. It's kind of like riding a bike but at the same time, it feels like I'm starting over :)
It's great that you're focusing on technique! But also don't necessarily assume starting in your 30s will set you back either. Strength is important, but constant learning is really key

@@BetaBoiBrandon Thanks. Keep posting, TH-cam suggested your video after watching a couple of others for novices. Be great to see the channel grow.
Reminder for myself:
1. Platform builder
2. Backstep & corkscrew
3. Straight arm, bendy body
4. Heel hook every move

These drills are so helpful for all skill levels! I can’t wait to incorporate them into my routine!
Hope they help :)

Thanks! I have a lot of ideas. I'm aiming to make these videos a "what i wish someone would've told me", so others can progress as fast as possible
Very cool video! I can't wait to try these out.

Thanks! Hoping to improve the quality over time, so I’m definitely excited to see how future videos will turn out
What a fantastic video! Easily the best channel for learning climbing. Love your way of teaching!
Thank you! I will watch this video on my next climb session.
Ahh thank you! Really good tips for beginners, will try all the drills!
Just started climbing not too long ago. This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve come across. Great job and thank you
That's yes please. I'll happily subscribe dude. Great drills I haven't come across before and well demonstrated and explained. ❤️

Your videos are great and you give advice that other channels aren't giving

Thanks, iirc you took some time off from climbing right? Feels like it always takes a bit to remember how to move after a break, hope they help!

you got a nice voice for videos, very calming lol
Thanks! Growing up, I always hated the sound of my voice in recordings and stuff like that (but maybe that's just how everyone feels haha)
Love your videos dude!
Gonna try these next time I go to the gym! Thanks!
Hope they help!

Great advice, nice vid 👏
Can't believe this video made its way to you. Your book has been a mainstay in my climbing progression for years, thanks so much!
