Other than what others have already said about not cleaning with a metal scrub brush or some similar metallic scrubber, I loved your video. So far it’s the best I’ve watched - lots of questions answered. Thank you for your video. I hope to watch more of what you may put on-line in the future.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
The directions said not to use steel wool to clean it with…
Oh really... Goes to show I didn't read the instructions. Distiller is still working tip top though despite.
Thank you so much for this video! Just got this machine and have been confused about a few things you mentioned 😂
Sure thing, glad I could help. I, too, had a few times where I scratched my head.
"How not to clean your water distiller" should be the name of this video. I use white vinegar (it dissolves the limescale in minutes) and a brush.
Hmm... Thanks but no thanks.
Agreed vinegar is vastly superior and doesn’t cause irreparable damage to the bowl
Nice to hear it's still running well for you. That stainless interior sure cleaned up easily👍😊
Yes it did that is why I used it a few times before cleaning it ti really show how dirty it got. I am lucky though some folks have reported it looking tat bad after one run of water through it.
Thank you for this! I used it a few times and didn't clean it out, and thought I messed it up. Love it!
Glad I could help!
Oh man the things you do for us thanks a lot my brother.
Sure thing, thanks for watching and commenting 🙂!
Manufacturer forbids using steel wool!!!! All distillers come with Citric Acid put 2 spoons and fill the container with water and let it boil for 20 minute empty water and ready to use -- This is the way not to scratch and damage the tank surface!!!!!!
thanks.
Awesome video 🙏🏾
Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching and commenting.
Awesome! Thank you.
You're welcome!
Great video. Thanks......using vinegar/citric acid here but otherwise, your instructions are great!
Thanks for watching!
What up my dude I just got the same model delivered today an cant wait, btw hello from alaska
Enjoy and thank for watching and commenting!
I need one of those!
Yes indeed you do.
Great to see "mo butta baby". It's been awhile.
Lol, yeah buddy!
I have a vevor. I use it for my humidifiers and steam cleaner.
Nice! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks
No problem, thank you for watching and commenting.
What going on fam just found your channel love it fam and we from md great content
Awesome thanks!
Ohhhhh, I bet you're right about that weird metal thingie (which isn't mentioned in the hilariously useless instructions).
At the risk of asking something stupid: is it normal for the outside of the distilling canister to be just about hot enough to burn skin when it's working?
Thanks!
The outside does get very warm while in use.
Try vinegar instead of scrubbing. The vinegar breaks down the calcium deposits from the hard water. I di this to my CPAP water tank if I don't have Distilled water for a couple of days or more. I can clean without scrubbing using vinegar. Great clip my friend. Thanks Mo Butta Baby!!!
I'll keep that in mind thanks!
That's the way to do it! Cleaning vinegar, specifically. so easy.
I have been using mine for about 2 years. The fan blades and side vents are filthy. How do i clean the top?
I am sure the top grate can be removed or you may have to stick a bottle brush or q-tips down there to knock off the dust/lent.
Is there a specific way the filter its into the filter assembly? Also, how many uses do you get out of a single filter?
Not really I just put it down into the metal part of the spout. And I haven't changed mine just yet. When I'm done I just let them dry and keep it moving.
Thank you for the response !!! @@SDSBBQs
Wasn't aware you could actually clean it with a metal scrubber, I use citric acid and boil it in there and it comes clean. How do you clean the top coils? I have had mine since February, so almost a year now and it just stopped working. I noticed the coils were dusty so I cleaned them with a straw brush, but it still will not turn on. Tried contacting vevor to no avail. Very upset because I need it for drinking and medication.
I admit I have never cleaned the coils. I do also run other things through mine (wink, wink) so it might be a bit cleaner than yours.
Try vinegar next time. All you need is a little vinegar and a little water and all that stuff at the bottom will clear up but make sure it sits for about 30 minutes. You can then use soap and water to clean and rinse.
Thanks, since posting I have gotten quite a few tips and tricks from others that use the distiller way more than I do. If you have time take a look at some of the other comments.
You are supposed to use citric acid to clean it properly from the chemicals.
I am aware but the citric acid does not get out the crust that really dirty water or other things leaves behind.
So what else have you distilled😏
Rocks heel to toe... lol
Mine us brand new and dosnt even switch on.
press that little button on the side. it is a reset switch for when you run it out of water.
@@SDSBBQs last night I found a red button at the back. I switched that on and then the shine button and it works. My other machine k lying had one button so I wasn't looking for a second one. It wax very stressful because I didn't see anything on instructions concerning the red button which was at back of machine. Thanks for your reply 👍
Dear, Sir
How do you get the nasty waste out of the water? I have the exact same one and it be tasting rather funky. Leave a like if you respawn to me cause if you didn’t respawn to the comments do you ever check you pages bro jk i dunno but nah really am I the only one with that problem. Hope this comment finds you well 🫡
Your humble brethren deal with same distiller, Louie
Louie. Thank you for watching and commenting! In the directions, it's recommended to use citric acid to clean the distiller and / or running a small amount of diluted white vinegar should do the trick. If even after cleaning the still and your distilled water still is nasty... the water might just be too bad to start? Hope this helps. Best of luck!
If distilling the water makes it pure, then why do you have to run it through a carbon filter afterwards?
It has a bit of a metallic taste after it's distilled. The carbon takes that away.
