Damn, and I only got 258,000 miles on my Toyota Land Cruiser 05, and it’s still going strong, and not a single thing is broken. And it still drives and feels like it’s brand new! Very smooth, supple suspension, smooth power delivery, smooth transmission.
That’s good if u keep taking care of it and it’s going to last forever my uncle who’s a master mechanic had one back in the day and before he got rear ended and the car was totaled it had 750,156 miles and he told me that it probably could of gone another 750k really it was very reliable
I am czech and seeing this made me insanely happy :D I actually drove a skoda fabia with the exact same engine (1.9 diesel), so this was kind of nostalgic to me as well. :D God knows, maybe "my" little skoda had put a quarter milion miles on the clock as well in the 10 years that have passed since. :D
I 100% agree with him. I've had a VW Golf 1.9 SDI in Cosmic Green Metallic for the last 10 years. It was sold from the dealership with nothing on it, except for manual AC in 1999. In 2001 it had 262000 kms. I bought it in 2006 with the clock rolled back at 131000 and since then I reached 300000. Do the math. It has from anywhere around 500000 to 1200000 kms. The suspension is so bad it has lowered a few good cm, and got some camber too. It sometimes jerks in first gear, and the shifter is wobbly. But overall it ls the best car I've had and I'm looking forward to a complete resurrection.
Max France Well the drivers arm for the wipers sits too high and it looks weird. The left wing isn't aligned with the bumper. The rear bumper isn't aligned. Its got some of scrathes, the windshield is cracked, oh and the headlights are torn that the silicone which keeps the lens glued is gone. The lens are literally held in place by the 4 caps it has. Another annoying thing is that one light on the headlamp is sometimes not working. The headliner is sitting like crap. BUT, it doesent have any check engine lights lights. The oil gauge lickers before i turn on the car, probably because of a burned sensor. Its got LOADS of problems, and thats exactly the point. I could repair it at any time (not really), but i want to see how much more will it go. But i am 100% not gonna scrap it. Its my gem, my unpolished, old, partially broken gem

I need these videos, and I love them. This car reminds me of old taxis I used to drive. I retired a 1997 Peugeot 406 1.9 turbo diesel in 2014 with 451,000k. It was serviced regularly and only broke down once when the timing belt broke,it hadn't been done ever and had 150,000 k on it,well well well overdue. Keep these videos up,I'm looking forward to restoration,I wanted to do exactly the same to my old Peugeot, but my boss wasn't as enthusiastic 😂
jeff Craven you need only need chose European version with steering wheel on left... and change headlights for symetiric and modify position lights on front and and rear. Guages you can take from UK version so you would have speed in miles per hour, not km/h. i have diesel with little bit more power. It bery good car. It can take you to hell and back. m.th-cam.com/video/FiIT7syUTA0/w-d-xo.html
Zepter00, A wishful dream of mine, just had to have a master cylinder and break lines replaced on a 50 y/o car, and yet to be determined on another one that spouts out antifreeze when she sits in traffic. I'll have a Skoda one day, not today. Keep those Skoda kittens purring and in 5 or ten years from now. I have a place in my heart for a beautiful Octavia.
Skoda Octavia is an ambition of mine, but keeping up three antiques, plus the car I regularly drive; I have more to do than baby cars, though there's nothing I'd rather do. I'd call that glorious Octavia "old shit box", BOUDICA, but that's the name of my old drag car, my wonderful old gal. My kiss on her hood/bonnet and she and I are young again; she's left about everything in the dust. Until her final run, she's retired from racing.
01. Much excited to see it's restored brand new!!! Wish it Millions then Billons!!! 02. I felt inspired to buy a old project car & do anything crazy that I would feel. 03. This is is a hero should never be scraped away but preserved.
That car is a KEITH. Never have I seen something look so much like a Keith in my entire life. You should wear a wooly jumper every time you drive it 🤣🤣
Fair point but why would you want to spend 6 hours a day in a skoda? Surely they could have just got a closer job and done extra hours for the difference in pay?
This car needs new struts and shocks big time! yeah they still work but look at that body roll at 5:29 D: that would be the first thing I'd fix since the original shocks have already paid themselves off 4 times over.
how do shocks influence body roll? They Don't! - yes, they might influence the initial pitch but shocks make no difference to ride hight or how MUCH a car rolls
My dad made 999,999 Km on a toyota corolla 2003 on 2012 and drove it till 2016 and then he sold it and it was still with the factory engine and trans and the only thing he changed was the Ac compressor .
He sold it because of me . lol . i burned the clutch and he didnt fell replacing with a new one so he sold that car . i loved it so much it drove so smoth :'(
5:00 I've had so many cars with problem lists like that - very honestly I love owning and regularly using them - it feels like you and the car know each other and have come to a mutual understanding to just keep driving together
Olivia... Sounds like Octavia but like my ex Olivia, has been around the block a few times, been well lubed, is dirty and needs a decent tidy up now... did I mention the funky smell?? Her head could also do with removing for inspection lol..
In Czech Republic has 75% of this old TDI's this mileage, but it has in many cases on clock only 150kkm and this number is also fake. I mean, she could be named Octa or Octopus.
I'm in the States. Just traded straight across a 100% reliable 95,000 mile 2012 Jeep Liberty (hated it after 5 years ownership) for a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with 217,000 miles. SAY WHAT?? Traverse has full dealership service records since new (a HUGE plus) and it shows it. Maintenance is EVERYTHING! This Traverse is so far ahead of the Liberty in terms of comfort and looks and features. I'm looking forward to 5 years with it and hopefully an additional 100,000 miles or more.
In the continental Europe, there are many of these (VW concern cars) with such milage and the owners don't even know. Every time you import a used car from abroad, let's say from Germany to the Czech republic, the time ''between the countries'' is a dark void in which whoever does the import may fiddle with the ODO and no one will ever know, as the MOT in Germany has already the car erased from the registry and the MOT registry in CZE starts with you registering the car there. So, the last MOT (TÜV) in Germany could have 400,000 miles on the clock, and the first MOT in CZE may have 150,000 miles on the clock and that is the number the MOT place will type into the national registry. EDIT: And these often look very good, visually. I mean, look at your Skoda, the only rust there is the bonnet which was damaged before and never repaired. The door locks, windows etc. are silly things one can repair in no time, even on very limited budget.
Not really. You can trust car like this so much more than half the age and quarter of the mileage Mercedes (not E, they are usually alright) of Range Rover. Yes, something may break but car like this will still take you home. It's all of new technology and limp mode making cars not drive-able if nearly anything breaks down what makes newer cars so difficult and expensive to run when they get older.

If you choose to completely restore it, you should visit the original owner to see their reaction :)
Road trip to the Czech factory?
It helps that these Octavias are solidly built - one of the reasons why they were a favourite with minicab firms.
Damn, and I only got 258,000 miles on my Toyota Land Cruiser 05, and it’s still going strong, and not a single thing is broken. And it still drives and feels like it’s brand new! Very smooth, supple suspension, smooth power delivery, smooth transmission.
DIAMLER is it the 4.7 V8?
Isnt the fuel cost way to expensive? But its a nice car bro, cheers!
No, it doesn't feel like it's brand new. Try to drive a new car or if you still can't spot the difference you're an idiot.
yeah you shouldnt rev a new car too much so it's actually better used
That’s good if u keep taking care of it and it’s going to last forever my uncle who’s a master mechanic had one back in the day and before he got rear ended and the car was totaled it had 750,156 miles and he told me that it probably could of gone another 750k really it was very reliable
But overall it ls the best car I've had and I'm looking forward to a complete resurrection.
thats some good sh*t i hope you restore it
Max France Well the drivers arm for the wipers sits too high and it looks weird.
But SDI engies are pain to drive. So slow, laud and boring. At least TDI.
elukok Agree. They all have similar consumption (tdi and sdi). Around 4.8 liters. Oh , and i forgot to say that it doenst have a cat. Its so loud and distinct that i could hear it from a kilomiter away.
Walter
yes
White?
That's my name lol
Frank
Walter is the perfect name
Would love to see a full restoration. Cars like these are often ignored. As for the name, I'd like to throw 'James' into the mix ;)
Sabarish Elango nice idea, nice name
Of course it's reliable...it's a VW 1.9TDI, ALH I presume. I have the same exact engine in my VW Golf and it had 374k km.
It’s AGR
@@zepter00 AGR means Abgasrückführung (German for EGR -> Exhaust Gas return valve), VW never made an Engine named AGR. The engine code of the 90 hp 1.9 TDI is ALH
@@paul_109 lol TH-cam have oni idea 😆 AGR was first of 90 hp version later was ALH. The same with 110 hp first was AHF and later ASV forums.tdiclub.com/index.php?threads/differences-agr-and-alh-engines.335328/ ALH was only in models after face lifting (1U2) and this is pre face lift version
Got an 24 years old Audi (187.000 miles) with pretty much the same engine, but older design and have to say this cars not only can last forever, but u can keep them in a good shape by yourself with little knowledge and small money. Back then, these cars were build like tanks....
Olivia the Octavia ❤️
i immediately thought this when i saw the name of the car
That's what I call my Octavia! Good suggestion.
perfect
damn good
Great! BTW, nice Skyline on your picture. ❤
I have 20 years old Octavia with 1.6 petrol engine and I am satisfied the engine does not know about the failure at least in my case
Still a better love story than twilight
“If you own a skoda, never park in Liverpool” - Alex, 2018
Mush don't park in liverpool, full stop.
This trusty old boy deserves a full restoration.. glad to hear that’s the plan! Name wise.. True Blue?
Matthew Shambler she is a girl.. you idiot it is a female name.. Octavia. I meet two women with this name.
I'd make space for her in my garage. A sweet, wonderful girl! I'm in the U.S. and would assure she was street legal here.. Love pretty Princess Skoda!
jeff Craven you need only need chose European version with steering wheel on left... and change headlights for symetiric and modify position lights on front and and rear.
You should wear a wooly jumper every time you drive it 🤣🤣
Agreed
Billy RS whats wrong with woollen clothing....
That's exactly what I was thinking!! You beat me to it!
Yep that's a Keith alright
I shall name it miles
《 KFG 》 Miles suits it down to the ground 👏👌
It's a Skoda. Name it Honza or Zdenek.
the plate ends in HDW, so her name should be "Helen De Wales"
My dad's skoda octavia has 2.3 million miles and is still rock solid and looks like brand new (almost) everything works fine True beast
Buzz, because it’s been to the moon and back. (Well, almost anyway.) And Buzz never got the love he deserved.
Haha always the bridesmaid
346 mile commute? MOVE HOUSE!!!
Si Raff Why would you want to live in Liverpool
Fair point but why would you want to spend 6 hours a day in a skoda? Surely they could have just got a closer job and done extra hours for the difference in pay?
Call it Prince Philip because it will never die
Surely Queen Elizabeth II?
MegaBigByte Could be but he looks more like a Phillip to me
"never"
Too soon
That comment didn't age well did it ?
This car needs new struts and shocks big time! yeah they still work but look at that body roll at 5:29 D: that would be the first thing I'd fix since the original shocks have already paid themselves off 4 times over.
how do shocks influence body roll? They Don't! - yes, they might influence the initial pitch but shocks make no difference to ride hight or how MUCH a car rolls
My dad made 999,999 Km on a toyota corolla 2003 on 2012 and drove it till 2016 and then he sold it and it was still with the factory engine and trans and the only thing he changed was the Ac compressor .
He sold it because of me . lol . i burned the clutch and he didnt fell replacing with a new one so he sold that car . i loved it so much it drove so smoth :'(
What size engine and is it petrol or diesel
It was a toyota corolla XLi
My Dad had the 1.8L petrol one with manual trans
انحرق عليك الكلتش 😂، والله مشكلة، شكلها السيارة وصل ممشاها مليون ونص ما شاء الله
Ali alhammadi it's a Toyota, what would you expect? 😃
Octavia is already a pretty nice name.
Darian Murcott-Istead are you fucked?
Hahqhahahahahahhaha
Sebastian Annab, not at all lol.
Darian Murcott-Istead my bad homie
Sebastian Annab, no worries bro
Octavius
Apollo or Apollo 18. It's been on the moon and is returning to earth, so to speak, right?
I don't know. Hoovie's Garage already has the Apollo 911. Might be just a tad unoriginal.
and Apollo is already a Volkswagen car
my dads car is a toyota corolla verso tuned to 250hk. diesel 0-100 in under 7 sec and it has done 400k km and its lit
Svea Sloth which year is it? And what are the mods??
Make a video about it
^make a video I'd love to see it
Jonas Stankevicius i dont remember the exact year but i think its a 2006 and it has the 175hp 2.2l diesel engine with a step 3 chip
This show reminds me that there are still good TH-cam car channels left.
You said Queen and you said Stacy, so what about Queen Stacy? Sounds respectful :-)
Viagra sounds appropriate too, though ;-)
Autoforum.cz dude viagra is sooo accurate for the car it's blue and still going strong 😂👌
What happened with your channel? You haven't uploaded a acceleration video for some time...
Name her gloria
In Czech Republic has 75% of this old TDI's this mileage, but it has in many cases on clock only 150kkm and this number is also fake. I mean, she could be named Octa or Octopus.
Daniel Liška 1 careful owner
The rest didn't care
Daniel Liška you speak da true true
jé nazdar ty jsi taky čech
Octavia is a hero lady 😉 th-cam.com/video/FiIT7syUTA0/w-d-xo.html
Vít Kučera servus 😃
It's gotta be called Myles
Name the car as Miley, is sounds like mileage!👌
That's actually quite clever. :D
Gus Johnson whx would it? VAG Diesels will take you to the moon and back after that to mars on one full tank and wont skip a beat.
Volkswagen AG, if anyone was to wonder
Mileage Cyrus
Cal Sticks nicee
I have absolutely no idea why I haven't subscribed in all this time that I've been watching this channel. But now I am finally subscribed.
It should be called “miles” or “myles” 😄👍🏻
LOVE IT! :)
Octavius king of the skodas
Tip your hats to the Mighty Car Mods universe and name the car CHERYL
Patrick Andreou Skoda the Molly or Skoda the Sharon.
Pros: very cheap
Cons: can breakdown any minute
TheTouge - Gaming videos In which case, no longer cheap.
@@nimaforoughi7266 It is people fear high mileage cars so are not willing to pay much for them so the market value is low.
I've known new cars breakdown before they leave the factory
Call it Miley
OlittoTV nice one
Nice!! I love it :)
Chitty Chitty Bang
Well Holy God.
