I had a 1.2 Skoda Fabia estate as my first car which I loved to bits - she was called 'Skye' (AKA 'The Phatmobile') and ran like a dream; I even took her 2,536 miles around Europe last summer which was unreal...
...Until the brakes failed on the A1 and I ended up in a bush. RIP Skye. Pls call your Skoda Skye in memory of her.

It is not entirely possible, because the previous owner done chip-tuning to increase power and torque. Alex would have to swap stock ECU and it would be just a wild try because once people start to modify this kind of cars, they can change for example the fuel injectors from 110hp version and you could never be sure that is it in stock condition.

Octavia TDi is the go to tuner/teenage ricer car in Slovakia and Czech Republic, you see these everywhere, they are so stereotypical, high mileage, low fuel consumption, shaft play in the turbo that makes the turbo squeal a little, worn tires, busted suspension, leaked out shocks, warped discs (mainly pre-facelift, as yours because they had smaller discs that were not adequate for the heavy engine) and, of course, those atrocious seats, hard as hell and the rear has no leg room because it was sacrificed for the boot space, but its one of the most reliable cars you can have, just blank off the egr and its a forever car, we call them sheep here :D

I bought it 9 yrs ago for £750 and it has never ever once let me down!!! I service it every 4 or 5 thousand miles, because its so old, but i knew the previous owner, and the engine has never been opened or touched.. Also, the best part abt it is...... I 100% agree with him. I've had a VW Golf 1.9 SDI in Cosmic Green Metallic for the last 10 years. It was sold from the dealership with nothing on it, except for manual AC in 1999. In 2001 it had 262000 kms. I bought it in 2006 with the clock rolled back at 131000 and since then I reached 300000. Do the math. It has from anywhere around 500000 to 1200000 kms. The suspension is so bad it has lowered a few good cm, and got some camber too. It sometimes jerks in first gear, and the shifter is wobbly. But overall it ls the best car I've had and I'm looking forward to a complete resurrection.

Max France Well the drivers arm for the wipers sits too high and it looks weird. The left wing isn't aligned with the bumper. The rear bumper isn't aligned. Its got some of scrathes, the windshield is cracked, oh and the headlights are torn that the silicone which keeps the lens glued is gone. The lens are literally held in place by the 4 caps it has. Another annoying thing is that one light on the headlamp is sometimes not working. The headliner is sitting like crap. BUT, it doesent have any check engine lights lights. The oil gauge lickers before i turn on the car, probably because of a burned sensor. Its got LOADS of problems, and thats exactly the point. I could repair it at any time (not really), but i want to see how much more will it go. But i am 100% not gonna scrap it. Its my gem, my unpolished, old, partially broken gem

I'm in the States. Just traded straight across a 100% reliable 95,000 mile 2012 Jeep Liberty (hated it after 5 years ownership) for a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse with 217,000 miles. SAY WHAT?? Traverse has full dealership service records since new (a HUGE plus) and it shows it. Maintenance is EVERYTHING! This Traverse is so far ahead of the Liberty in terms of comfort and looks and features. I'm looking forward to 5 years with it and hopefully an additional 100,000 miles or more.

In the continental Europe, there are many of these (VW concern cars) with such milage and the owners don't even know. Every time you import a used car from abroad, let's say from Germany to the Czech republic, the time ''between the countries'' is a dark void in which whoever does the import may fiddle with the ODO and no one will ever know, as the MOT in Germany has already the car erased from the registry and the MOT registry in CZE starts with you registering the car there. So, the last MOT (TÜV) in Germany could have 400,000 miles on the clock, and the first MOT in CZE may have 150,000 miles on the clock and that is the number the MOT place will type into the national registry.
EDIT: And these often look very good, visually. I mean, look at your Skoda, the only rust there is the bonnet which was damaged before and never repaired. The door locks, windows etc. are silly things one can repair in no time, even on very limited budget.

@@nimaforoughi7266 It is people fear high mileage cars so are not willing to pay much for them so the market value is low.

Not really. You can trust car like this so much more than half the age and quarter of the mileage Mercedes (not E, they are usually alright) of Range Rover.
Yes, something may break but car like this will still take you home. It's all of new technology and limp mode making cars not drive-able if nearly anything breaks down what makes newer cars so difficult and expensive to run when they get older.
