Avec ces vidéos magnifiques tant par leur contenu artistique que leur qualité technique je ne comprends toujours pas pourquoi on n'en voit pas plus souvent sur les chaines de tv afin de faire découvrir cet instrument hors du commun.
Jean-François Zygel serait bien inspiré de consacrer un jour une émission au monde de l'orgue. La construction de l'instrument pourrait être évoquée par des reportages chez nos facteurs d'orgue qui surprendraient les téléspectateurs par les différentes techniques de leur métier. Même les geeks y trouveraient leur compte avec les transmissions par réseau informatique comme à Ste Clotilde ou ailleurs. L'orgue est un instrument fabuleux qui pâtit de sa place sur les tribunes obscures des églises. Et qui traîne avec lui une connotation religieuse, d'autant que la France est un des pays où il n'y a que quelques orgues dans des salles de concerts (moins de 5 il me semble).
Chaines de TV à 0h55 ? :-) Le piano et l'orgue c'est pas la même approche. Il y a une journée de l'orgue chaque année (via l'association Orgue En France qui regroupe des organistes et des sympathisants) mais vu que les orgues sont généralement dans les églises, les gens associent souvent orgue et liturgie, l'acoustique en plus. O. Latry a entre autres joué un air savoyard (à sa façon) quand il est venu à Chambéry (ai pas reconnu, suis un ancien parisien). Quand y a des animations pendant les vacances dans les villes, ça peut permettre de faire connaitre l'instrument aux touristes curieux, qui ont plus de temps libre que dans l'année. Un orgue c'est presque un orchestre à lui seul. Orgue (M. Bouvard/grand orgue Chambéry) et cordes (élèves de Paris) l'an passé ça allait vraiment bien ensemble !

At first I thought the opening registration was a bit soft, but I enjoyed its contrast with the later fiery registration. The dramatic tension really builds. Wonderful interpretation!

L'ensemble de cette oeuvre complexe, est ici assez justement interprétée. Le sujet est fluide, l'attaque du plein jeu et des expressives ne sont pas poussives et font éclater le caractère grandiose voulu par le compositeur. Je ne suis jamais venu écouter sur place l'orgue de Sainte Clotilde pour mieux me rendre compte, mais sur certains points, il me fait rappeler l'orgue Saint Sulpice.....voir même celui de Saint André de Bordeaux. En tous cas, merci à Olivier et à Vincent ;)

@@kertojerlan3741 vous êtes plutôt insistant sur le lien que vous citez en réponse à chaque commentaire, on ne comprend pas bien pourquoi ! le comique de répétition a ses limites...J'ai écouté le lien auquel vous faites référence : le tempo n'y est pas, c'est ménanique et sans âme, alors ma préférence va à Olivier Penin, indiscutablement .

Only the finale could be a bit longer on the short notes, but I understand why he did it this way :-)

Magnifique mais il me semble que pendant les crédits à la fin, vous avez oublié le "e" à organiste.
Rien à voir avec les versions de nombreux organistes américains qui en font de la musique de cirque. Ici on est bien dans le vrai Gigout et la bonne tradition d'orgue française !

A pity, but it‘s too timid. This piece must make the bones in one‘s body rattle!
The effects and recording were top notch, however.
Maybe do it again, but get these anches in there!
