I love the *idea* of the Make Badab Great Again cap, but 1) I don't wear hats, and 2) unfortunately, given it is such a niche joke which relies on a lot of context to get, I would be worried people seeing it and thinking I was some kind of Trump supporter.
I am confused that a cardboard circle with a name on it is not a valid replacement for a miniature in many contexts. I don't get the physical aspect of the rules
It's not really about the rules. For the vast majority of people, building and painting is the biggest part of the hobby; gaming is supplementary. The spectacle of the physical minis, painted, on the board; that's an extremely important part of the fun. Especially for a narrative event, in many ways it's the whole point.
40k and Kill Team in particular have specific rules about visibility when it comes to targeting thing to shoot at, so if your model's a 1mm tall cardboard disc it causes problems when your opponent's trying to shoot at you. "If your model *_was_* there, would there be enough of him sticking out of cover that I could target him?" etc.
For most people, the game is just the final part of the hobby. Painting and modelling takes up far more time and is by far the most important thing. The game is just something to give you a goal - when I've done these I can show them off on the board. For me, a HUGE part of the fun of the game is seeing my army in action. Things that impede that - messy boards, unpainted stuff, bad scenery, great big markers - make the game less fun.
Yeah they use true line of sight, so any proxy or substitute would have to be roughly the same size and shape as what it was going to replace. Also, playing a mini war game like this with no models is lame. Just play a board game at that point.
It's just bad etiquette, maybe it's ok for someone trying something, but there's a social contract around building and painting and playing and if I rock up to a game with a fully painted army and it's cardboard cut outs, I don't want to play it kills the immersion and it's just not in the spirit of the game or tournaments. It's expected that you will all partake and build and Paint and army so come the day you'll have this awesome epic battle. People will allow a lot if it seems to put the effort in. A squad you couldn't manage to finish or something. But completely cardboard jank is just not on.
sounds like you guys dove off the deep end and played the most competitive version of the game straight off the bat. big mistake. stick to just the kill Op and crit Op for this campaign
That's what we did! Only in the last round did people try the tac ops and only if they wanted to. The real hard thing to keep track of is equipment and stratagems
Bobbie's comment 'Getting old, Ian' needs more recognition :) Chef's kiss!
"THEY'RE EATING THE SQUATS!"
THEN THEY'RE GOING TO EAT _ME!_
@@soupalex OH MY GOOOOOOD !!!
Many people are saying this!
@@jonnysnaphappy Very fine people on both sides.
I would buy a shirt or mug that simple said "This is an Arbitor Ian product".
Rouge Cat, my favorite character in the Canon 😂😂
Yeah, there’s a bit of a balance problem with KT24 at this point. Elites, like all the Space Marine teams, have a tangible advantage.
Beautifully painted models
Such a good hat 😂 and I agree, an Endymion hat making "MEGA" would be good as well.
Thanks for the update. Great to see all those old school marines. Believe it or not, KT 2024 is actually less onerous that KT 2018.

Badab Infernus Marines are getting so close to my favourite Cumbrian joke of calling the unit "Barrow-in-Furness Marines" 😂
They are sons of Medusa, I should have specified, though if you zoom in the shoulder pads are 3D printed with the symbol of them
Are you guys going to do more old world vids?
KITTY!
I really like this series 😊
I have to say, the Lamenters' colour scheme lacks a bit of contrast to my taste.
In other news, I can't acces the Arbitor Ian homepage?
I kinda need that hat
I hear a cat, but don't see a cat. Sad.
The hat 😂
Woooo 1st watch 1st like 1st comment
Lucky day

so glad trump stormed it.
This will age well I'm sure.
