I'd love to start a Fire Hawks army entirely from primaris, I like the idea the chapter was revived during the Ultima Founding using the same colour schemes and iconography but entirely primaris same as what happened to the Soul Drinkers
Our local club, The Trumpeter Society, meets monthly at a community center. We have existed there for about 25 years with no on-site storage. Every month we haul all our gaming gear in....
I think that is great in some areas. For HATE, most of us travel there by tube or bicycle, directly from work, followed by a long journey home. Thus, transporting large amounts kf terrain is impossible. Even larger armies are inconvenient.
Yeah for big game days people can plan to load up the car with terrain and armies etc. But as a twice a week thing it wouldn’t be practical. Also can’t drive all that stuff home again after a beer!
Yeah, one of the problems with the private clubs is that they start with a group of friends and relatives and as the founders age out they just devolve. A lot of the time, the old members are just not interested in getting new people in.
Love the LotD Fire Hawks. I have the old metal Legion models, been looking for a good idea for them. The old goofy looking sculpts don't really mix with any of the grim and gritty, actually spooky colour schemes I've tried, so I've been trying to think of something else to do with them. Keep up the great work, everyone.
Bring it down to Brighton. Bristol is good but too far from anywhere despite being my second city...third. You can get down by the time you get across London from central in the same amount of time. Open, free and plenty of places. Its overground so not the tube or bus but it could work. Does feel like a slog though.
TLDR: FLGC'S sadly take to much room and need to much for free regardless of where you are. 🙃 Sadly the issues with the club seem to be a pretty universal set of issues regardless of what continent you're on. It's very easy for community your group to come together and share the interest. It's a lot harder for that community or group to suddenly have the combined time and funds to not only administrate all the various logistics and costs they go alongside with meeting regularly but also storing all the equipment be it personal or club owned. It always seems to come back on the same sort of people who ultimately foot the bill or I able to strike up good ongoing relationships with small businesses. Anyway you cut it someone's losing out on the way because they're not fiscally viable in their own right. Especially as the general cost of space but by the square metre just goes up every year and it doesn't matter if you're running a cafe, a pub or a club wargamers don't spend that much per head compared to other events or general public.
I was thinking about the Firehawks chapter, the old atom bomb chapter symbol probably harks back to the late 80s anti nuclear movement, if you grew up back then it was quite big, I remember graffiti from back then all over my home town!
I feel like not being inclusive is a political statement, if you're a hobby club, then participation in the hobby should be the sole criteria. If you need to exclude people based on any other criteria, it's political.
Strange how every time I see the old "don't bring politics into games" my mind immediately goes to the old American expression of how "a hit dog will holler" taking into account the meaning that a very defensive reaction to an accusation can be an admission of guilt. You don't mind when the politics is your particular version of morality, when it's this which is gatekeeping whoever you find offensive out be women, people of different political affiliation, skin colour or sexual orientation. But the minute that you're the one to be excluded for your own actions suddenly everyone else is wrong!
I mean…most of us are here for the 4 of them as a group of friends, you can find models to look at on google images. So I think it is interesting to know what’s going on
Bobby's bitz-spotting is very impressive.
Gary's cap is spot on.

1:14 Missed a chance there to go "Gary, who is Forgotten by the Gods... and also that's his username! 😜"
Interesting preamble about venues for gaming.
Bobbie's firehawks are amazing!!
49:20 it's actually the banner carried by one of Reclusiarch Merek Grimaldus' Cenobytes.
If you're concerned about space, you should be able to fit two kill team games on a six by four table with little trouble.
I agree with Bobbi: Lamentor Axe-Boy's hair is awesome!

Slimes....what memories ive got of a not so misspent youth in that place!
Thanks to you also, for keeping us motivated 🎉
Spreading the Hate Ethos of Inclusivity…
It was a weird discussion.
The problem is that even getting a small unit on a small industrial estate is hard as so many of them have been turned into housing.
Check out Big Battles in Cirencester if you're nearby. Loads of tables in an industrial estate

Bummed I didn't get my Kill Team done in time to submit for this episode.
Ditto, sad to have missed it!
There's always next episode!
I hope we see a primaris chapter that takes the place of the og Fire Hawks because damn that paint scheme is so good.
I like to call mine the pile of resplendant glory.
Why did the Brady Bunch music start playing in my head.

I love Brighton. In fact I got married just outside Brighton. Getting there from Kilburn would be a nightmare though!

Fire Hawks! They are my dudes 😄
Holy shit, where'd that model from the thumbnail come from! It looks awesome!
bethnal green working mens club, my god thats a throw back. sad to hear.
Y'all really played 40K at a strip club?
Britain is weird.
A Working Mens Club is not a strip club. It is mostly just a place where old geezers drink cheap beer and complain about young folk!
Wow, i come here to watch a tale of 4 gamers and had 14mins of hearing a lost club. Good job
Golden throne, do people on England realy need to lsh their politics even in game clubs? UK do not need Monthy Python anymore.
Making a gaming club inclusive is important if you want everyone to feel like they’re welcome.

wow, an imperium enthusiast shitting himself over the mere mention of queer people existing, say it aint so

Noone cares about your mens club. Show us some minis
Peter Noone from Herman’s Hermits?
It's not YOUR show, they run it as they see fit
Captain Loken saying "I don’t care about your men’s club" is oddly in character… Although if he did, he might have prevented the Heresy altogether!
Did you know that you can skip ahead to the minis? And that you can keep your mouth shut while doing so?
I mean…most of us are here for the 4 of them as a group of friends, you can find models to look at on google images.
So I think it is interesting to know what’s going on
This project is kind of a goodbye to firstborn. I'm looking forward to starting it (a bit late I know)
18:30 I personally think you can get 3 games of Kill team on two 6'x4' tables next to each other. Two games on one 6'x4' table will be too cramped
The badmoon cafe tables are actually 8x4; they are 6x4 with 1foot each end for your dead and cards etc…
And to place your beer :)
@@GaryKeenan cheers sad beard
