  • An incredible adventure in the world of Lith printing prcoess an alternative process done in the photographic darkroom using a special Lith developer called Easylith from Moersch. I used old papers from the 60s to 90s such as Agfa Record Rapid RRS, ORWO Universal, Kundl Paper from Berlin,Tellko former Ciba Switzerland. Even some Labaphot too from Germany.
I'm not expert on the Lith Process! I just wish to share my experience and images I made with 5-6 expired papers. Please feel to comment and ask questions.

Excellent results! LOVE the look of that ORWO paper. They all look awesome. This makes me want to jump in the darkroom… Lith is so addicting

Thank you so much for watching Matthew. This was my second Lith session I was delighted with the results. To see what is possible is so exciting. The ORWO was a surprise to me, I have a pack on 30x40cm sheet too which will be amazing to Lith.

Enjoying this. I have a fridge full of expired papers both RC and fibre. I've never tried Lith so I'll add that to my list of experiments. Now off to watch Video 2 :)

I have a tonne of even older Agfa Brovira and Portriga which I'd love to Lith, but ventilation is an issue for me. My darkroom is simply a spare bedroom. Being a rental property, I imagine my landlord would take issue with me bashing holes in the wall through to the outside world.
Seeing the colours you're getting really has me edging toward the sledgehammer, though! 😁
I was surprised to hear you say your developer was 12° as I was under the impression that much hotter (i.e. around 30°) was the norm for Lith printing?
If I ever get some form of ventilation sorted, I hope I can try this process and get prints even half as beautiful as yours.
    On to Episode 2...

Thanks for your comments and kind words. You lucky sod with that stash of papers! If you got a windows in that spare room, you could do as Weston did use your darkroom at night and leave the window open.
Yep at 12 degrees C things were slow as a slow thing in a slow town on a slow day... I now got a plate warmer to sit the tray on. These plate warmer you pick up for a few quid on second hand site locally.
      Thanks again Gavin
