I think Step 1 has to be amended to: Be a talented enough visual storyteller that anything from the simplest design to a mechanical masterpiece is secondary to the tales you tell just through hand movements and a mood alone.
He’s got a point! I’m a prop maker and I’ve made a few pieces inspired by the work he’s done with dabchick and the stuff he’s made has easily taken him hundreds upon hundreds of hours from scratch. His work deserves to be something that supports him, but if you want a puppet like his we should all tell toy companies and manufacturers that we want work like his!
Also I love how Dabchick is more concerned with Constable Wayne's hat than the fact that he's not wearing pants, then again dabchick doesn't wear pants either

theres an easier way, just make 2 cones and put them on your index and pinky finger, then just make a face on a full note, and tape it all together. Edit: if you want arms just put rectangles on the head in any way, shape, or form
Tips from someone who did this: laminate the side with the sticky spot when making the four doobies, make sure to roll them so the animated side is facing out LABEL THE PIECESSS when attaching the body to the middle and ring finger loops, put tape on the front and the back, as when you just do the front that come loose quite often finally, have fun with it and dont get frustrated the outcome is so cute and i love the one i made

I hope this has every kiddo in elementary school making dozens for them and their friends! (Or at least when they get back to school) I’m really inspired by this, actually. I think I’ll create something with a similar base but with lots of 3D details to make it realistic! I’ve never made a puppet before, but I’ve always wanted to. Maybe this video will get me to make my next great project! Thank you very much! 😁
