This was executed so well. Props to NPR Tiny Desk, the horns, DJ Lord, the legend Keyboard Money Mark, Eric Bobo, Sen Dog and B-Real and not there but not to be forgotten DJ Muggs who is an amazing producer. This format sounds really nice and to think they said Hip Hops not music. Joke was those who lacked vision.
maybe the best live hip hop drumming ive seen, really diligently sticking to the loops and not throwing in unnecessary fills, keeping that tension and staying clean and clear is one of the most underrated things about drumming for something like this.
the DJ cutting up "More Bounce to the Ounce" and the brass section syncing to that song mixed in to their classic "Insane in the Brain" was pure live music magic!!!

Came here to say this as well-- what a nice surprise! Zapp x CH = magic!
My fav part!! Crazy great! Wonder why didn't we think about that mixing back in the day😅😅😅😂😂
Backbone to the 90’s hip hop scene.. absolute legends.. in all senses of the word.. thank you Cypress Hill
sooo soooo good! Awesome!
I would not have believed that after so many years, your energy is still so high! 2024 and I haven't had enough yet
B Real's flow is so unique, unmistakable and clean. Up there with Snoop. Never biting anyone else's style, no effects needed. Respect!
B-Real is such a good story teller. The stories leading up to the songs are epic
Sen Dog bring so much to the table as a hype man. His voice is instantly memorable
I miss his signature "holdin' it in" style tho
I’m transported back to the 90s every single time Sen Dog spits a lyric. His were my favorite lyrics to single along with. 🔥
One of the best of the west
Bought those first two Cypress Hill albums back in the early 90's. Always a fan of Sen Dog, he was perfect for CH, love what he brought to the table.
Watching this for the 10th time this week 😂 party 123 🎉
I cannot believe how much I am loving the horns, what they add is absolutely perfect and add so much emotion...and the drummer's main crash cymbal is pure gold too.
Check out Mac millers tiny desk it's equally dope
I agree. The horns were awesome!
One of my favorites @@mr.p9266
I love when artists explain the process or how songs came about.
I get the same feeling when they talk about tour memories
Love and respect to Cypress Hill! It's good to see them at Tiny Desk Concert! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And great to see Money Mark! I remember how crazy he was on keyboards when he played with the Beastie Boys.
It's so great to just see him straight vibing the whole time.
People should check out his album Push The Button. It's worth giving a listen
And bobo also played with the beastie's.
OLD SCHOOL.
NO AUTO TUNES AND NO MODERN SH.T.
PURE HIP-HOP
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Man this is great. I could listen to B Real talk about the group for hours
Hip Hop podcasts narratives...yup
OMG! Amazing! What talent! Love Cypress Hill, the horns took the music to another level. Thank you Tiny Desk for putting on a big variety of artists! I am going to be singing Insane in the membrane all day! ❣❤🔥❣
Truthfully it seems like it's my soundtrack for my life lately 🤣🤣
Love hearing rap with live instruments 🔥
Love you guys so much! Brings back so much memories and I still listen on a daily!
WHAAAAAAAAAAT?! 😮So freaking happy I woke up to this! Cypress Hill is one of my favorites!! Thank you, NPR Tiny Desk Team! 🔥🔥🔥
B-Real one of the greatest lyricists ever. Cypress still doing it as good as when they came out. Legends 🔥
I loved so much this band in 90's...and I'm still getting crazy for them!
Excellent performance! Cypress Hill are indeed rock starts!👌And Tiny Desk you are killing it!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Love from Sweden
maybe the best live hip hop drumming ive seen, really diligently sticking to the loops and not throwing in unnecessary fills, keeping that tension and staying clean and clear is one of the most underrated things about drumming for something like this.
Agreed. There's a powerful minimalism to his style.
It's almost as if he's a professional musician doing the job he's being paid to do 🤔
The hot rods are killing me though, takes all the punch out of the snare
His dad was a drummer/percussionist so it's in his blood.
That man was living in the pocket.
the DJ cutting up "More Bounce to the Ounce" and the brass section syncing to that song mixed in to their classic "Insane in the Brain" was pure live music magic!!!
Mix a lot! Nice pull.
I think I heard Atomic Dog in the mix as well, DJ was on point
That was sick
Absolutely Top notch performance. Bussin ! Thank you !
Clearly someone at Tiny Desk got a promotion within the past yr and they're showing out 👏🏽 👏🏽
Hahahahahaha I love the idea that this is why we’ve been getting these!
FACTS!!!!!!!!
Impresionante!!
Cypress Hill son de los pocos Grupos de Rap que en vivo suenan espectacular, siempre jugando con ritmos y diferentes instrumentos, pero sin perder la esencia de la calle.
Son unas putas leyendas !!
And mad love to the horns section. Phenomenal musicians. They added so much to this set. Awesome.
classic, so well done
This sounds so much better than I would ever imagine. Thanks for doing the show Cypress!
This is just incredible. Cypress 4 Life :)
To me this is what Rap is suppose sound like. But I'm already in my forties at this point.
maximum respect 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 cypress hill was part of my life in 1997, here in São Paulo, Brazil... I hear it even today when I skate! thank you tiny desk for bringing this legend alive! 🙌🏽🙏🏼 🛹 🇧🇷
The horns are killing it! Fire!! 👍👍💥
This NEVER gets old listening to it over and over
