@@marktdejesus I thought of a question after I commented. How do you strike a balance between not being a victim and the opposite extreme of taking everything on yourself like in the case of a marriage where you feel like you have to fix the tone of the home on your own. I find myself flopping back and forth between helplessness of the victim mentality and thinking I can somehow fix a problem myself that requires effort from both parties. Sort of like a savior complex I guess? I have always struggled with balance.

I'm not a Christian but came across your channel searching "victim mindset" and your videos are helping me so much. In modern therapy the concept of a victim complex has become a very taboo topic because it's often viewed as invalidation or victim blaming. Your compassionate but honest and blunt approach is a breath of fresh air.

I see my victim mentality as an excuse to continue in my sin. I have awoken to the fact that I am going to hell, I've been struck with worldly sorrow ever since and I just can't muster the love for God in my heart to be able to repent. Either I kill myself because the weight of the guilt and fear I experience is toi much for me to handle, or I blame God and give myself some sort of self-forgiveness and relief. I know it's all my fault, but I don't want to kill myself. I just don't know what to do. Rwpentance feels impossible, I don't feel genuine about it and I don't know how to "make" myself feel genuine about it. It says multiple times in the Bible that God grants repentance, and you can't do it on your own. That's why I feel fear and terror every second of every day because my attempts to "repent" are all based on worldly sorrow. How do I change that? Have I failed to answer God's calling too many times? What a fucked up life I've lived. All I feel is hatred towards myself, and the only relief I can get from that emotion is to tell myself "I was designed to fail, I never had a chance in the first place" and THAT'S victim mentality. If I take the full force of responsibility, I will beat the shit out of myself until I eventually feed a bullet into my skull. I can't handle it! I KNOW I'm going to be punished in the end and that I deserve it. How can you cope with eternity? You can't! I'm so lost, except I don't feel lost- I feel I know exactly what I've done, what I've become and what's going to happen to me. I'm "found" in the most terrifying way possible.

3 years later I am listening to this and WOW, I needed that. God spoke to me months ago that I am not a victim, but somehow I very easily slid back into that mindset because of lingering sickness. But I am not a victim, amen! Have to change my thought patterns, and take this very seriously. Thank you for this!

I am listening s a second time. When you said the victim mindset tries to set in, I began to wonder if this is another dimension of spiritual warfare. It seems like it is. I never saw the victim mentality as being from the devil, but I think it is.
Now, I know the solution is not to claim a scripture in an OCD fashion, but I do believe that Scriptures like II Corinthians 2:14, which speaks of God always leading us in triumph, is a good scripture, as is Isaiah 41:10 which commands us to fear not, and to not be dismayed. There are a number of scriptures that command and assure is to fear not, or to be courageous, and that God is with us, so I need to begin to meditate on these and let them renew my mind.

Mark, I am so very thankful for your sharing and your teachings. Especially on this topic of Victim Mindsets! I heard you speak at a church in CT a few years ago after I became sick from Lyme Disease. I was searching for help and since childhood was afraid of GOD and avoided going to church. I loved your honesty and I could relate to your mental/emotional trauma. I struggled with Anxiety, panic & depression since Childhood which I realize now began after a traumatic hospital experience. After my mom died and marriage failing I became ill and the victimized child showed up! I felt like loss was too much for me to handle; began facing my fear of GOD and searching for help. I really never understood or felt loved and since I began reading and listening to your podcasts; I have become more aware of whats going on! My story is all rooted in feeling like a Victim. This knowledge and your suggestions are so useful. I've been practicing for years how to recognize these thoughts. I do believe they are lies but have to really work on how GOD sees me and to BELIEVE and KNOW GOD loves me.... and I am slowly starting to Love & accept myself right where I am. No matter who left me or how sick I feel......I will not give up. Slow process. I am very grateful for your teachings and appreciate all you are doing. I too want to and have always helped people and animals. Thanks again for all you are doing. I plan to purchase your books; I'm referring others to your website so they can read and hopefully see for themselves that they can recover! Thank you and Thank GOD! Sorry this is so long. Just wanted to THANK YOU! Keep doing what you do; I see you're helping people so much! Peace be with you!

I'm blessed to have an increadible friend who was trying to "rescue" me for 14 months and has just given me a final warning to take this seriously and get out of the victim mentality, or I will lose him. I need to stop hurting and disrespecting him by not taking action and responsibility on my own and not snapping out of the sadness and powerlessness. It's a bitter feeling but I think my mindset has finally become visible to me and I'm grateful. If anyone here has stories of having overcome that mindset, I'd be very grateful if you could share them here. Thank you in advance and thank you for this video. It's taking me a long time to get through it but I'm doing my best to hear every word. Thank you

Yeah if you truly want to help someone dont call them a victim it will only make you look like a person without empathy and it will make the victim mentality gets stronger. If you want to help someone help them to simply think in different ways. The more they think in different ways the more they change.

    • @Psalm_27.4
      @Psalm_27.4 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@Mario Vasquez. Keep listening to his videos and PRAY to “get it!” Your flesh and the devil are likely the source of the condemnation feelings. Mark deJesus has videos about that on his OCD topics. Those videos were very helpful. I just prayed for you. Others who read your concern may be led to pray for you. If you have been saved, just know that the Holy Spirit prays for you in utterances beyond words (Romans
      Romans 8:26 -27 says:
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.”
      Also, Hebrews 7:24-25 says:
      Hebrews 7:24 (KJV)
But this [man], [Jesus Christ] because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to MAKE INTERCESSION for them.” (emphasis added)
So, Mario, you have TWO people of the Trinity praying for you!!!! That is a mind-blowing concept!!!
Anyone reading this, please remember Mario in your prayers!

Yes it hurts but it is so worth it! True love doesnt always sugarcoat things, sometime we need a rebuke. How do you change? Earnestly lay it out to God and admit that you have a victim mentality and give it to Hi., sincerely ask Him to renew your mind and walk with you in the process

Brother DeJesus, you said that the content in this video has been filtered via your life and through the lives of others that you have helped. However, you never said that it was filtered through the word of God. I hope that does not sound like OCD, but years ago, a Bible study leader told me in a women’s bible study class where I actually attended on a regular basis for about 19 years, that everything we encounter-whether in print, radio, television, and any other communication medium-must be evaluated based on the word of God. She said that if it didn’t agree with the Bible that it was not right. Personally, that was a major POSITIVE turning point for me, because until then, even though I had attended church for over 40 years, and believed the Bible was infallible, I didn’t realize that the Bible was to be my gold standard for orthodox truth!!
So, Sir, I am disappointed that you did not say that the content was filtered via the Word of God, the Bible. Perhaps it is, but it would have helped to hear that. If my need to hear that explicitly is a manifestation of OCD, then OK, I’ll try to accept that. I’ll try to listen to this video.
Just so you know, at this point, I believe that an ever deepening knowledge of the Bible and of God’s character, along with fellowship with healthy Christians, is the primary path out of victimization. Christians need to study the Bible more deeply, learn the heart of God, learn to stand on the eternal, unchanging power of God’s word, and learn how to nurture each other.
In the times when even people fail, I believe that I must remember that God said that He would never leave me nor forsake me, and that He always has a ram in the bush. In all honesty, I have a long way to go in terms of putting this in practice, but God is continuing to show me that He is with me.
All Grace to you and your family.

Hello Mark. I’m on chapter 15 of exposing the rejection mindset and I do have a question about something that I’m struggling with. My 86 year old mother-in-law moved in with me 17 months ago. She was only suppose to live with us for 3 to 6 months until she had her house repaired. She’s a hoarder and it’s one of the reasons that she won’t repair her house even though she has the money.
It’s been a big strain on my marriage because she hoards rotten foods in the bedroom and dirty items, example is a dirty pillow case that was covered in blood, Ziploc bags with things that have mold. When we clean the room and throw away the items that is an unspeakable act to her because everything has a purpose. After cleaning she won’t talk to me or her son sometimes for a month. My husband grew up this way so he is use to it.
My MIL is highly active, she babysits 9 hours a day for a young couple, she helps other people when needed, she walks daily and she sings in the choir, she stays up often at night. She has a restless soul. A good friend of mine said that she can see that she has repressed spirit.
Whenever I bring up the subject to my husband about her getting her house fixed and moving back to her place my husband basically loses his mind and gets very angry. I know it’s a childhood trigger for him. I’m just at a loss at what to do. I’m 24:33 minutes into the live replay. Any suggestions?

Sending much gratitude from Brazil it's a blessing to hear you cuz Im living under this mindset but I need to change.Thank you so much. You have no idea how much times I thought about ending my life because of this sense of helplesness that Ive carrying since I was a kid and you touch so many points like when you talked about the father issue and I always felt this sense of not knowing how to be in the world how to succed but I was giving up of everything too quickly because of my fixed minset because I was so afraid of failing and every small setback became my identity and now I have to chance to realize that theres nothing wrong with me in the first place that I just had a bad mindset that was carrying me through life and it was reiforcing my lack of worth and my lack of confidence. This video was so rich I hope in God that I will keep these words to my heart.I Will listen again. It was was a great 2 hours and 27 minutes God bless 🙏

So good! I have learned that faith and hope go together and faith without hope causes disappointment. Hope always lives prophetically and lives in joy without seeing the breakthrough now. It’s always looking to where God is taking me, not where I’m at. Faith by itself says “it must be this way” and before it comes we’re miserable or if it never comes we crash. We are always called by God to live in the future by hope.

What does the spouse in limbo do even when the other person doesn't work on the marriage. Refuses intimacy and sex from them.
