DIY Sliding Barn Door

This was my first time building a sliding barn door. A friend had asked me if I could help him build and install a barn door in their new house and we finally got a chance to put it together. The over all build was not very complicated, but took some time because it was my first time building a door. The Door ended up looking great and I am excited to tackle another one.

Not sure if they mention it in the video, but anyone trying this should take the wood indoors and let it acclimate for at least a few days. I built a beautiful red cedar door for our family room and after 2 weeks of it being up it started to bow. Still looks great but it hangs up on the guide when its fully closed

So did you all glue the main boards together in the beginning? I saw you had them all clamped but I never saw you glue them! Or did you all just rely on adhering them to the trim boards?

I would recommend cutting a slot for the floor guide. We did not on this door, we ended up installing the guid in front of the door. I keeps the door for swinging.
