- One month from completing the Yorkshire Dales section of the Cost to Coast, I head back to pick up the trail from Northallerton walking through to Ingleby Cross where I stay the night before the next day walking 20 miles across the Yorkshire Moors to one of England's most remote pubs, the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge. I have to sleep outside for a cowboy camp in the beer garden under the stars but it turns out to be a perfect evening using my lightweight gear.
The walk is breathtaking and challenging at the same time, with the elevation up and down its not for the faint hearted, and it takes determination to cover the distance of this section.
I meet a woman from America who saw my previous videos, and it was great to find out the bad weather in my previous videos helped them prepare for the trail. I hope this video also helps you prepare for your hike, but please remember everyone does hiking for different reasons and in different ways, we can learn from others but in the end we have to decide how we want to hike our own hike.
