Kinda funny i watch an american youtube reaction channel to discover a german band and their music and learn in an interview that they are from Erlangen which is north of nuernberg and i am from the south of nuernberg. Little critique of tank he should let the guest speak more freely, else great interview. One topic i can only agree in german radio as tankt states the same with us radio metal is not present at all. Even Rock Star FM a radio channel in the suroundings of nuernberg they are playing always the same old stuff and not even rock or metal but mostly pop songs i bet you will never hear of Feurschwanz new album on the radio station doesnt matter that they are local heroes. Greetings a new fan.

I agree about the part concerning reaction videos becoming their own branch of music journalism. We have "institutionalized" the "Have you listened to these guys yet? They'e amazing!" conversations we have during coffee breaks and that can followed up by a listening session. It might not be the most precise method to analyze and discuss music, but it focuses on what is most important: The joy that you have when you listen to music and share the experience with others.
Plus, but that's more a feature of social media, it brings us all together from everywhere around the globe. The listeners, the fans, the reactioneers (/journalists), and even the musicians themselves. That alone creates a much deeper understanding for the art and the people behind it.

Wow... It has to take an American to have such an amazing insight view of an amazing artist (guitarist) like Hans Platz - both with just an amazing background knowledge - it was amazing also learn a lot more of Tank - no one way interview
I also could now wrote poetry as a comment her... But to keep it short
Feuerschwanz in Germany is so much underrated and misunderstood as a 'party and funband' but for me i realized very fast that there are all amazing musicians - by showing it that they make every song (cover) really her own - you must understand a lot of music
Thank you both for doing it and bring it to life

I have found several bands either directly or inderrectly through reactions videos over the last 2 years, and reactions to the Ding cover was definetly the reason for me starting to listen to Feuerswanz, though it took a few listens to really get into the music.

The German EU sounds like OI, and especially in Northern Germany, but also in High German, ER often sounds like the A (similar to UH in English), which makes it easier, since you can skip the R. So Feuerschwanz would become something like "Foiashwunts". Looks a bit weird, but try it out. I'm teaching German to highschool kids in Japan, and they can't pronounce the R to save their lives, so this is a big help for them.

One thing about the ukulele, at first the tuning confused the hell out of me, and it still does sometimes when I try to play melody. But the ukulele is basically the last 4 high strings of a guitar and then pitching up the lowest an octave. So for chords that really helps

Ah btw if you want more of german volk metal i guess equilibrium would be something to look at (Heaviness or whatever the word is more akin to Finntroll or Korpiklaani though). Also i only can reccomend the old stuff wholeheartedly... the newer stuff is still good but kinda boilerplate folk. "Der Wassermann" is my favorite and "Wirtshaus Gaudi" ("Funn in an Inn" badly translated) would be more of a fun song.
And some other bands i saw often together with feuerschwanz/SaMo. though most of them are not really rock or metal and get exponentially better if you understand what they are singing... maybe you like them anyways.
