- The first 15 minutes are me talking about winter solstice and the energy of this season and the last 20 is the ritual. Time the Ritual starts is 14:41.
Winter Solstice Ritual
What you will need
• 2 pieces of paper
• 1 pen/pencil
• 1 candle and lighter (preferably one you can burn to the end)
• some sage or herbs
• Oracle Card Deck (if you have one)
• 2 stones (one dark and one light, I used black tourmaline and moon stone)
• Essential oils, I used my winter roller
• Suggestions:
• Cypress- brings transformation & change;
• Frankincense- helps ignite your relationship with spirit & lifts depressed energy
• Myrrh- opens your mind to receiving the Universe’s gifts
• Rosemary- embodies purification, protection, remembrance, and spiritual self-discovery.
• Patchouli- Brings sacredness and connection to life, helps to liberate and dispels negative energy.
1. Ge out your two pieces of paper and spend a few minutes journaling about the 2 questions below.
1.WHAT DOYOU WANT TO LEAVE BEHIND WITH THE Past YEAR or 2024?
Think about any limiting beliefs you’re holding onto, that you’re ready to let go off. Is there any negativity weighing you down or an old trauma that keep resurfacing?
Autumn was all about reflecting on the things you’re ready to release from your life. Winter is all about releasing to get ready for the growth of spring. What are the last things you’re shaking off?
2.WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES & WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR, What are you calling in, manifesting and opening into?
What are you already starting to dream about? What ideas are coming up for your life in the new year? What are you being called towards?
Get really clear & very specific about what you’d like to draw into your life for this New Year of 2025. (The clearer you are the more power this manifestation ritual will hold.)
Take time to FEEL into what it would feel like to have these things in your life already.
2. Now place the second paper (What you are calling in) under your candle and light it. Put the first paper to the side for the end of the ritual.
3. Next take your essential oil winter roller (or one of the oils mentioned above) out and put some over both of your wrists, smell it and connect into the energy.
4. Take a small bit of sage or herbs from your garden that you have in your bag and burn it over your candle and let the smoke come into your body and then cleanse your two stones. I like to bring in some sound energy, a rattle, drum or chimes if you want to add some sound energy.
5. Place your Black stone in your left hand and the white stone in your right hand. You are going to focus on releasing what you wrote down into your left hand and into the black stone, it will absorb your negative energy, limiting beliefs and what is no longer serving you. Repeat it in your mind 3 times. Then focus on your right hand the white stone and what you are calling in. Repeat it 3 times. Feel it, think it and visualize it.
6. Repeat the Gayatri Mantra below three times then sit in silence staring at your candle and eventually close your eyes and focus on your third eye for another few minutes.
Gayatri Mantra (you can listen to one online)
Om bhur bhuvah svah
Tat savitur varenyam
Bhargo devasya dhimahi
Dhiyo yonah prachodayat
7. Burn your piece of paper to your side that you are releasing and letting go of and place your stones on either side of your candle. Allow your candle to burn out if you have time and space for that. If not do it over two days.
8. Place your burnt ashes in a plant or garden in your home or close by.
