There’s 3 versions of this movie. The original theater release, the theater re-release with an additional 8 minutes, and the special home video exclusive cut with another additional 8 minutes added to make it 16 minutes in total added. The latter one had an alternate beginning. Showing more of earth and how Jake was. This film is absolutely the best 3D film I have ever seen, and that is because James Cameron insisted on filming it in 3D, which had never been done at the level of quality he wanted, and really hasn't been done since because it adds a lot of time to the filming. All 3D films made today are converted into 3D while they are being completed. The biggest difference between what Cameron did here and pretty much all other 3D films, is he used the 3D to give the film depth, instead of using it to make things come at the viewer which is what 3D usually does. I can remember sitting in the IMAX theater watching the part where Jake is walking along the branches and he looked down and the 3D gave us the feeling of how high that was, and I gripped my armrests because I am afraid of heights and it was terrifying to me.
It's true, most films are just lazy about how they do 3D, but Cameron was the opposite to say the least! Although based on your story, I wonder how you would've done seeing "The Walk" in IMAX 3D like I did. It was the Robert Zemeckis film about the French guy who walked between the tops of the Twin Towers on a tightrope. Talk about a white-knuckle movie!
I agree seeing it in the theater in 3D was amazing. The movie is so beautiful color pallet wise and it was shot different then a lot of 3D films. There were parts that really made you feel like you were right in the movie. It was an amazing experience.

I should hope SO. If they will be doing this in the UK as well then I will definitely go along and see it. It’s been way too long since I’ve seen a 3-D movie. Both due to generally lower level 3-D releases happening and not being close enough to a big-screen cinema complexes during university. I truly hope that avatar 2 can help to bring 3-D even more back to the popular scene again.
I hope the re-release is the extended addition. Those few minutes added so much to the overall movie. I sure do miss my 3D TV (I'm in the minority on that one).
This was mindblowing in 3D IMAX. Interstellar in IMAX was the only other film to come close, yet Avatar was still in a league of its own as far as cinema experiences go
Quaritch is such an interesting character. Stern, but kind to his people. He's the kind of officer any soldier would love to serve under, only he failed to adjust his perspective and comitted to truly evil acts.
This. Stephen Lang said he would've been the hero in another movie. Especially with the events of the second movie, I'm really wondering if Cameron might actually subvert expectations and have him come around and get a redemption arc by the end.

In the 21st-century, it definitely seems to make sense for us to cheer on the aliens rather than humans. When it comes to being an intergalactic species and how we view humanity in what we do overall, it makes a lot more sense that we would be the selfish invaders rather than a highly advanced higher intelligent alien species coming to earth.
The Earth is undergoing an energy crisis and that's the reason they are mining unobtainium, it's a super conductor that could solve the energy crisis and it can only be found on Pandora. The lives and culture of some alien indigenous are nothing to the billions of humans on Earth who were unemployed, without food, water or electricity. Humanity > Xenos scum.
I hope y’all are ready for more Avatar since there’s going to be four sequels with the first one, The Way of Water, coming out this December, and the rest coming out in December every two years.
Very excited for Way of Water.. I remember when Avatar released on bluray I went out and bought a Panasonic Veria 3D VT60 specifically to watch this movie on.. lol.. I got to say though, I'm a little worried that Way of Water won't live up to expectations or, at least my own... Disney studios is involved with development and distribution so, I'm thinking and hoping it doesn't look like a Pixar animation.. I'm sure the story and character arcs will be good though, with Cameron leading the writing and directing... We'll see in December I guess..
In the extended version some things are explained, such as what happened to Grace's school and the tragedy that occurred and why she was not allowed to enter the village until Jake intervened so that she would visit her former students.
Stephen Lang had auditioned to play as Corporal Hicks in "Aliens", another James Cameron film, but did not get the gig. Cameron remembered him and offered Lang the role as Colonel Miles Quaritch. Ironically, Michael Biehn, who did play Hicks on "Aliens", was briefly considered for that role but was not cast.
I'm so glad Stephen got to play Quaritch. It's his first big, iconic role. Off hand, have you seen images from Way of the Water? The Quaritch Avatar looks amazing
People started destroying our native ways when they came to our land in North America I’m First Nation from “Canada” Alberta and I will never say I’m Canadian I’m a native 🧡
Even real horses do that sometimes just to be funny. They'll let you get on top and get comfortable and when they start moving they'll let you fall of if you aren't paying attention or keeping your balance. It's kind of a test that the horses like to put people through. If you can't handle a bumpy ride, then you shouldn't be riding a horse. It's not necessarily that the horse is being mean or aggressive, but that it's judging the person trying to ride. If the horse starts to buck and jump then it may not like you. But just kind of doing a little few feet of a sudden gallop like that?? That's a prank.
This is unbelievably beautiful film, I saw when it was first released in the UK on the biggest IMAX screen in the country in 3D, it was the first 3D film that have ever seen and because they filmed the live action portions using native 3D cameras it looked absolutely stunning. Even when watching the 3D blu-ray it looks brilliant. It's one of the films that I have seen the most at the cinema. I also see the extended special edition in IMAX 3D. As for the animals that populae Pandora the inspiration was real life animals that live on Earth. I so glad that you like the film, looking forward to your reactions in part 2.
This movie is very vindictive of our trajectory as a species. I highly recommend the deleted scene of the DMT ceremony. its a shame it didn't make it in the final cut
Ladies, Neytiri was played by Zoe Saldana, who also played Gamora in the Guardians Of The Galaxy/MCU films. You should also see her in the Star Trek franchise. 🖖🏼
This movie recently just came back to theaters with remastered 4k quality. I watched it twice in IMAX 3D, it was the most breathtaking movie I ever watched in a movie theater!
This must be watched in Real 3D to truly understand and enjoy what you are seeing and experiencing. In 3D you are part of this dream, and are pulled into it. It is out of this world.
Gotta be honest, I havent watched this movie for over ten years. I watched it three times in the Cinema back in '09 and perhaps twice on DVD but never again after that. It completely went off my Radar (except occasional listens to James Horners (RIP) Score). Perhaps I need to rectify this before the Sequel comes out this December.
I’m taking credit for this reaction I pushed this movie so much to them I’m sure I’m the reason they reacted to it 😂🤪 I already watched the full reaction on patreon but I’m back for highlights 😂 Hopefully Spielberg’s Ready Player One is soon and Alita Battle Angel, I think everyone can tell what films I enjoy most 😝 PS: James Cameron also made Alita Battle Angel along with Mr Robert Rodriguez
Don't listen to everybody about the 3D the 3D was still just a gimmick. The film itself is made to be viewed on the regular old flat screen as opposed to people saying it was not even supposed to be seen that way. They are very very susceptible to advertising and marketing. It looks great either way.
One of best movie I have ever seen. I think you also love The Abyss from James Cameron. I hope you will react too to Dances with wolves. One of my favorite movie. I love your true réaction.
th-cam.com/video/tTpf6PIpX2M/w-d-xo.html "insanity" is meant because humans had become so disconnected and far away from the connection. They become deaf, unsensitive and basically unaware of things. This is why she (Neytiri) called him "child".
just to specify, James Cameron reported and translated things from this reality to that reality. Meaning, not taking it literallly but not even unlitterally, he basically spaeks of something that belongs to our reality.
" Don't play with that, you'll go blind" is a reference to an old saying bout playing with your self....Masturbation. Do they have other phrases in other countries for the same thing?
You are watching imo the best and most beautiful movie ever made. I don't know if you caught the fact of the similar theme of indigenous people being moved from their land for others profit. But this movie is full of comparisons.
Females today put far more value on animal lives than humans, can watch thousands of men chopped to pieces by the sword in a war movie and feel basically nothing, but let one horse get hurt and they're damn near in tears. When the thanator was in pursuit of Jake Sully it was exciting for them, but when Jake fires in self defense Viki screams out No! 🤔

Exactly! I hope that someday I can work to help Indigenous neighbourhoods when I’m old enough. You all deserve reparations 🧡💛🤎
I love this film since 2009 when I wos 8 years old. Now Im 20 and I love it iven more!
When I see this movie back in 2009, it was in 3-D Format. My mind was blown!
@Frogger Well you would be given a pair of 3D glasses when you go to a 3D screening at the cinema.
I love how Zoe Saldana is a big part of this and also the MCU. Talk about picking the right projects. ;-)
This movie looks AMAZING on good OLED TV in a completely dark room.
34:40That’s one difference between them since jake avatar is mixed human and native he has 5 fingers but it’s natural to have 4
"How did he figure it out?" (torch) He's a Marine. He adapted. He overcame.
39:55 this part really have me in tears
Avatar 2 is scheduled to be released later this year in December, 13 years after this one.
Seeing this movie on the big screen in Real3D was epic. It felt like looking through an open window in to this world.

The Thanator is best described by Cameron himself as "the six-legged panther from hell" 👌🏼
The flight of passage ride at Disney World is about as close as you’re going to get to your own Ikran on Pandora. For about 5 minutes, at least.
We need part 2 ASAP!! Lol Thanks❤️
Alita Battle Angel ❤️👍👍👍😀
You and a thousand other 😔
Every environment has its own mysteries and miracles, including what they are like far across our universe.
Don't listen to everybody about the 3D the 3D was still just a gimmick. The film itself is made to be viewed on the regular old flat screen as opposed to people saying it was not even supposed to be seen that way. They are very very susceptible to advertising and marketing. It looks great either way.
Watching this movie in 3D at a theater was an amazing experience
Bro! Can’t wait for Avatar 2. I'm so excited
I live in Canada and have lots of Indigenous friends. This movie is an Alien version of what their ancestors lived.
The ride in Walt Disney World is just as mind blowing as this movie Makes u feel as if ur on a banshee
James Cameron movie came from him in 2009 and now there is finally part 2 later this year in December Avatar Way Of Water.
This movie (which I love) is basically a science-fiction version "Dances With Wolves". Another movie I highly recommend!
All his movies and technologies in special effects made James Cameron's dream come true of making this movie.
Never underestimate James Cameron
You need to see it on the big screen in 3D, preferably an IMAX screen for the full effect (though you could also do it via VR)
The tiger dragon is called Toruk Makto
That was funny…Tiger Dragon! I love it
Watching it in 3D in a theater was epic
One of the most amazing movie-going experiences of my life
I was 19 when this movie came out in now 32 and I watched this movie at least twice a year and I'm still anticipating the the 2nd movie 😆✌🏻
Avatar is a manifestation of all the spiritual principles out there...
And btw I saw this movie 6 times in theaters. 5 of the original (3 times in regular and twice in 3D) and once again with the re-release (in 3D)
I just saw the trailer for Avatar 2 in 3D and it looked amazing!
Part 2 locked behind a paywall. A 40-minute ad
One of my favorite movies of all time. I'm glad you are enjoying it.
26:06 hehe that person also invented Terminator
Gonna need that part 2 asap, love the reaction
You'd have really enjoyed the extended collector's edition
Still one of my fav films , and one of if not the best 3D film I ever seen . Absolutely stunning .
Oh boy. These girls will be crying rivers in part 2...
Neytiri is played by Zoe Saldana the same actress who played Gamora.
Often in nature, the most beautiful creatures are also the most deadly!
And these girls would rather let those deadly / beautiful creatures eat them than put up a fight
Maybe they’ll put the movie back in theaters in 3D before the sequel would be fun to revisit
They said they was going to do that that's good💯❤
One of best movie I have ever seen. I think you also love The Abyss from James Cameron.
I hope you will react too to Dances with wolves. One of my favorite movie.
I love your true réaction.
I really want to see them reacting to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes & War of the Planet of the Apes
Me too
Word 'Avatar' means incarnation , is taken from Sanskrit Language - the mother of all the languages of india
The Creator with the beautiful Mind is no one other than James Cameron, Creator of Terminator, Alien, Titanic and many more, Ladies👌🏻😝
Such a perfect film for all four of you im astounded you havent seen it before now
Did the intro got cut and lost?
glad to see all you Lovely girls together❤need more of that it's more fun to watch👀and sometimes add the dog 🦮

"insanity" is meant because humans had become so disconnected and far away from the connection. They become deaf, unsensitive and basically unaware of things. This is why she (Neytiri) called him "child".
I still say Avatar = Dances With Wolves set on another planet.
Beautiful Edit. Thanks
Basically a reimagining of pocahontas and john smith.
Should have reacted to the Collectors Edition, it explains what happened at the school, among other things.
I am writing this to help out these ladies and this video and this channel with the algorithm ✌️❤️😚☺️
Minnie Driver and Amanda Peet reacting to Avatar. Who woulda thunk
Llevo esperando 13 años está película. Es mi favorita. Y vale la pena esperar hasta diciembre lo que espero este año 😻
When this movie first came out it was offered in 3D. Which is the version I watched. It was outstanding in 3D!!!
just to specify, James Cameron reported and translated things from this reality to that reality.
Meaning, not taking it literallly but not even unlitterally, he basically spaeks of something that belongs to our reality.
" Don't play with that, you'll go blind" is a reference to an old saying bout playing with your self....Masturbation. Do they have other phrases in other countries for the same thing?
one of my fav movies all time
You should have seen this movie in 3-D when I saw it in the Theater it was Awesome it felt like I was there in the Planet
You are watching imo the best and most beautiful movie ever made. I don't know if you caught the fact of the similar theme of indigenous people being moved from their land for others profit. But this movie is full of comparisons.
Does this reaction not show the beginning of the film or is my phone/TH-cam being weird?
Avatar is a word of sanskrit language. Sanskrit language belongs to hinduism religion
36:26 why iam looping it..
And watching their languhfyy reaction 😅😅😅 tha was fun 😅
Females today put far more value on animal lives than humans, can watch thousands of men chopped to pieces by the sword in a war movie and feel basically nothing, but let one horse get hurt and they're damn near in tears. When the thanator was in pursuit of Jake Sully it was exciting for them, but when Jake fires in self defense Viki screams out No! 🤔
Hope you homies heard the actress Michelle Rodriguez
