Oh..the thumps on the bag to shake the powder to the botton brings back so many memories , and ive never painted a car...anyway bro, thanks for video..i like to see this pearl on white
I have orange pearl flake along with the green pearl flake on my old school built chopped top 55 Chevy pick up with the black lacquer paint and it still looks killer for being a 40yr old paint job
Thank you for the lack of music. I personally like to hear you talk and hear the process of what's going on. I am a musician so I hear music every single day I'm teaching music 5 days a week I'm touring and I'm performing so when I don't have to listen to music it's a pleasure
Rust-Oleum sunrise red with a gold pearl would be pretty cool. There are endless combinations. You did a great job making that fender look nice it's not easy to do with a rattle can base.
Absolutely loved your programs. I'm not professional painter either but love painting cars. I used the Harbor freight spray gun nd have had no problems with it either. I'm going to watch the rest of your shows too. Keep them coming.
Number one rule that I found in all the research is to always degrease before sanding. If there's any type of grease or contaminant you can sand that down into the bottom layers. I'm sure his panel is not contaminated because he uses it often but anybody else should take appropriate steps and degrease and clean before sanding. Hope this helps somebody. Love your channel bro I have found more color combos that I've been interested in on your channel than anyone else's. Thank you so much for all the videos you post very informational and you've helped me and color decisions for sure. ❤❤❤❤ Edit: I am not a professional painter at all It is just something that has been said on many research videos that I've watched. I'm very very close to having my 1991 Toyota T100 done and I've got some colors picked out.
* * * * * ... Thank you Sir for this tutorial . The latex backed sand 'paper' on ebay sells for over 1 thousand USD anything grit (grade) > 1,000 - however at 10 dollars per sheet it may be worth it . First i have heard of this product . It is great to hear birds chirping in the background rather than playing that funky music (wild cherry band from my aera) ... I am new subscriber and look forward to your tutorial videos . Thanks a Mint !!!
Still waitin on that white or black pearl over charcoal!!!!…..i know your a busy man so im just gonna wait patiently……that green over the blue is absolutely beautiful!!!❤❤❤…..crazy how you can make a custom paint job with pennies on the dollar with that spray can technique….i love it….i wish i would have known sooner!!! Keep up the fire content big homie!!!
Here in Winnipeg,Canada. Rustoleum is called Tremclad. And we don't have the same array of colors like you have in the states. But I noticed at Peavy Mart it's like a Tractor Supply Store. Tremclad 25% more can was on sale for $9.99 cdn. That's about $7.50 US. And only gloss black and gloss white. You need the attachment for a reciprocate saw that shakes aerosol cans..
Black light purple over black. And hey just a thought, have you ever sprayed through lace? Like you run coat let it dry then lay lace down spray over the lace then pull up the lace add a coat of clear then do light top coats. Just do the lace spray in a contrasting color so it shows up.
Hey GT, since your doing test panels, any chance you could do a blue pearl over a white base? My son wants to paint his new car that color so I'm curious what it would look like. Thanks man! Love the videos as always!
I used to have a white s14 with a slight green pearl was a real nice color. Id like to do an antifreeze green type pearl paint job on my s10. U think this pearl combo would do that over like a grabber green paint job?
When you spray your pearls you should use basemaker it’s a little better then clear for the pearls to lay down flat then clear over everything especially when your using like color efx Perla’s like chameleon colors
Trucks at a nerby auction come up often and very reasonable but are a forest ranger green or school bus yellow. Wondering if a clear coat + pearl could make these trucks pop
Interesting that it barely affected the Blue. But it did give it a nice shimmer. I've been wondering what Blue Pearl over a violet color would produce? Or even a violet pearl over that Ink blue
Dude over that Black is SWANGING!!!!! IM Doing a 1:24 89 Foxbody mustang... and wanted to do a Candy lime green... I was gonna do a metallic gold under the green.... but now I think I may go black base. It probably won't be Exact. Because the candy is just a tamiya candy lime. I haven't stepped up to a compressor and air gun yet. So I was wondering about your opinion on what I'm gonna try. Thanks and 🎉🎉🎉YOU GOT A NEW SUBSCRIBER 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅
Hello, I am not a painter. I do appreciate your videos. I have watched several in the past, and i have a question. I noticed that you used a scale for your ratios of paint hardener and reducer. Are you using grams as the unit of measure? Thank you very much.
Damn bro, plz keep doing videos. Ive painted cars and trains and rvs now for 10+ years and i learned something from you today. Thank you for taking time out of your day to teach people and not being an asshole!
Once you add the pigment to the clear and mix it, what would happen if you add a colour to it, kinda make it like a single stage? So like, add pigment to clear, than drop in an oz of black and mix it
That fender is getting some paint!!! Every video you apply more and more layers. It's gonna eventually weigh too much to move around without a lift. ;) Awesome work as usual my friend.
I love the experimenting. With pearls what would happen with that same pearl and white paint? I hate the pint from the old (pink) pearls. With using the can spray I have heard that the paint is not very durable and wont last so its a waste of time and resources. With those of us who do not have massive amounts of money and supplies who dont need a SEMA show shoot will the clear hold up? Yes I know its not in a booth and understand that there are variables.
hi, i want to change the color of the gas tank of my motorcycle from white to black... no dents or any repairs needed. do you recommend spraying primer before base coat?
how did you get that clear for 61? its back up to 122. love the videos man especially the Gold pearl over the red how you got like a tangerine color. Any chance you can do orange pearl over black?
Do you ever wet sand your base? I’m new to your channel. I’ve done a little body work. 3 years in high school. And I noticed a little wet sand helps it.
Thanks again! I have more coming up.. and proud to say I've partnered up with a company that makes pearls, flakes, colorshift, glow in the dark, and many more.. 🤫 more info on that soon!
Yes, absolutely! The window of adding clear over a base is within an hour so it all dries together, or after 24 hours, so your base is fully dry. After 2 months, the base is definitely dry, but make sure you wash it good so there are no oils that will react when you add clear.
I have a project truck named #midnightmaroon. If you could show a black base with a maroon color pearl over top or something else that might make this project look awesome, I'd love to see it.
u got good movement bro but ur air pressure is way off. You have way too much orange peel. but otherthan that u have great videos try to spray your pearls at 28 psi down one turn of material and you’re gonna see the difference a little bit more higher pressure gives you more itemization on your spray pattern
Okay hot rod black. It’s a satin black almost looks dark gray. Spray a red dragons breathe color metallic pearl. Every body has the black in the no prep racing and racing in general. Dragon breath is like a Ferrari red bright red. I think it would dance over the satin black. Your 2-tone gloss black and satin black. I think the effects would be nice
Loved seeing what Ink Blue looks like on a fender. Always been curious about that color. And as far as songs go, I think it’s the latest scam on YT. People are buying what was once copyright free music from artists we’ve all used over the last 6-10 years. Then they claim the monetization of videos with that artist’s songs. It’s seriously screwing all us small creators.
I agree! I left my videos public over these past few months, so viewers can still enjoy them, and I would see a lot of them starting to peak. Unfortunately, I didn't get monetization for that 😕 so I unlisted them. Anyway, I have another video coming up with the suicide awareness colors. I think it's going to be a great experiment
@@GTsPerformance i’ve been muting the soundtracks as that is an option YT offers, but some times that mutes speech, too, so my collection of uploads is getting mutilated. I applaud your efforts to keep going. I’m wore out with Socialist Media and haven’t up loaded since I repainted my Suburban.
beautiful color, I like it over the black better than the blue
Yeah me Too...
I agree. looks great on black.
Me too! I absolutely love the emerald green look. Amazing
That came out really nice!! The metallic really pops when the light hits it just right. Excellent work!
Oh..the thumps on the bag to shake the powder to the botton brings back so many memories , and ive never painted a car...anyway bro, thanks for video..i like to see this pearl on white
Lmao
Orange pearl over black. That would be different. I like your paint videos. I paint also but it is nice to see someone experimenting.
I have orange pearl flake along with the green pearl flake on my old school built chopped top 55 Chevy pick up with the black lacquer paint and it still looks killer for being a 40yr old paint job

That looks awesome. It makes the blue pop. Cool effect.
It's a subtle change, but looks very cool

The black/green combo looked pretty cool. 👍
I really like both but the black was pretty nice
Cool experiment good cheap metalic paint jobs, works fine in many applications of colors
Now i know what I will be painting my truck. The green pearl iver light blue. Thanks!
In black looks amazing. Beautiful mm
That would be kickass for some ghost flames!
😎👍
I’m impressed with the way it came together
Pearl green over the black is definitely better than over the blue. Great job
I'd like to see a Rustoleum's Sunburst Yellow with Gold pearl over it!
Good to see that you're wearing a spray mask. 👍
Looks great on both but for me I like the black better.
More noticeable, for sure.
The blue is just a subtle change
Still waitin on that white or black pearl over charcoal!!!!…..i know your a busy man so im just gonna wait patiently……that green over the blue is absolutely beautiful!!!❤❤❤…..crazy how you can make a custom paint job with pennies on the dollar with that spray can technique….i love it….i wish i would have known sooner!!! Don't know what colors to suggest, but I like the results you showed us. Thank you!

Well done looking forward to more pearls
Silver pearl over red or black would great to see. Great video. Keep them coming.
The colors over black always look better
Victory red with purple pearl or maroon. Cool lay down of paint. I'm definitely interested to see more.
I'm really learning from your videos believe me I appreciate what you do
Pretty on the blue paint
Keep up the great work, GT! Your channel and passion for this art really inspire and motivate me.

That turned out quite well. Nice job.
Dang that clear over black is brilliant!
The green show really good on the black, but I also like that blue
I used to have a white s14 with a slight green pearl was a real nice color. Id like to do an antifreeze green type pearl paint job on my s10. U think this pearl combo would do that over like a grabber green paint job?
Yea bro i really love the black base over green pearl..
Super beautiful job.
That's a GreenGoblin green! Nice!
Cool stuff, works good
Like to see lime green over white. Great videos 🤙 hello from cape cod Ma
Over Black=Money Green !
May use that one myself, thanks!
Looks great 👍. Thinking of painting my 82 transam blue and black. Love the blue. Any tips on a dark pearl on Black?

Color is nice. I wouldn't know it has green pear in the clear if I saw it out in the wild.
Nice GT Performance Love it Color Good Job
You may have covered this in another video, but, where do you get your pearl from?
Hello, I am not a painter. I do appreciate your videos. I have watched several in the past, and i have a question. I noticed that you used a scale for your ratios of paint hardener and reducer. Are you using grams as the unit of measure? Thank you very much.
Please do a tan base and gold pearl powder. Thanks.
This would be cool.
Damn bro, plz keep doing videos. Ive painted cars and trains and rvs now for 10+ years and i learned something from you today. Thank you for taking time out of your day to teach people and not being an asshole!
that nice on black yes yes yes !
If this was the final product, how long do you let it set before polishing. And when you polish, what product and buffer do you use?
Once you add the pigment to the clear and mix it, what would happen if you add a colour to it, kinda make it like a single stage? So like, add pigment to clear, than drop in an oz of black and mix it
Over grey primer looks good also
My fave is metalic silver with black peral it looks like liqwid metal
Both are good but I like black one
That’s beautiful.
I was wanting to spray a green matalic clear over my black was wondering how it would look
That fender is getting some paint!!! Every video you apply more and more layers. It's gonna eventually weigh too much to move around without a lift. ;) Awesome work as usual my friend.
😅😅 gonna need to hit the gym from now on!
@@GTsPerformance awesome stuff man. Keep the videos rolling. Your channel is growing fast.
Black base, faux carbon fiber pattern using drawer liner in silver, topped with gold pearl!
What if you put 1coat regular clear thin a coat of pearl then one more regular coat and so on
Damm looks good I'd love to paint my boat like that
I could do this all day. I cannot wait to do my car.
Looking good like both blue and black with the pearl. Who do you get your pearls from?
I love the experimenting. With pearls what would happen with that same pearl and white paint? I hate the pint from the old (pink) pearls. have you used the tremclad clear gloss in your gun? no cheap clear around here, 200$ a can.
Looks great! you should try that same line green pearl over gun metal gray.
What do you think about a satin black and a ghost blue pearl
hi, i want to change the color of the gas tank of my motorcycle from white to black... no dents or any repairs needed. do you recommend spraying primer before base coat?
Will the clear coat protect the spray paint and make it last a long time ?
how did you get that clear for 61? its back up to 122. love the videos man especially the Gold pearl over the red how you got like a tangerine color. Any chance you can do orange pearl over black?
I really like the videos your doing
Beautiful
Oh wow that's nice man! I just love your videos. Hey I wish all the channels I have subscribed to would not do music! I prefer no music anyway!
Looks good on both! You just can’t see the green over blue.
Yea, you can definitely see the effect over blue, but I can't tell it's green.
Always looks good when u do this . But have u tried a turbo can tip on your single cans? Just cause it would give u a giver fan is all .
Nice videos man. You make it look doable.
👍 😎 🤙
Dig the experiments
You do good work man!!
Do you ever wet sand your base? I’m new to your channel. I’ve done a little body work. 3 years in high school. And I noticed a little wet sand helps it.
It's me again I just like to say that I like your videos you share thanks again 😊
Thanks again! I have more coming up.. and proud to say I've partnered up with a company that makes pearls, flakes, colorshift, glow in the dark, and many more.. 🤫 more info on that soon!
Thanks for that in put and I will clean it before I apply my clear coat That's why I like your videos bro😁😁
My question is if you spray base coat on and let it set for two months can you still go back and clear coat it after that?
Yes, absolutely! The window of adding clear over a base is within an hour so it all dries together, or after 24 hours, so your base is fully dry.
After 2 months, the base is definitely dry, but make sure you wash it good so there are no oils that will react when you add clear.
What reducer do you use with the eBay clear
I have a project truck named #midnightmaroon. If you could show a black base with a maroon color pearl over top or something else that might make this project look awesome, I'd love to see it.
Any clear over beige or white pearls
Loved It..
Like to see what would rootbeer pearl metallic pop even more
Have you ever done a color shift pearl over a dark blue base?

Have you ever done gray with blue pearl??
What kind of reducer u using
