In scale speed, it would be faster than F1 cars, but yeah, it's not faster in reality. F1 cars aren't even the fastest in cornering. That title goes to F1 powerboats.

Just got into slot cars with my kids and this speed is insane. I love how at this caliber theyre barely even "cars" but more so just hunks of aerodynamic plastic on wheels, lmao. Very cool, though!
I’ve driven one there is multiple classes I drove wing-10 in Australia very hard to get use to the speed and timing of corners. But very awesome.
I raced in the early '90's. My fastest time around a track like that was 2.4s. They were doing it at 1.65 which is insane. I think they were using glue in the corners.

Das ist für mich einfach nur affig. Da kannste auch nur ne Hinterachse und einen Leitkiel in den Slot hängen.

wow that is crazy fast, this is huge change in the old slot car tracks i was raised on I need to look into this!
i used to race as a kid, a big challenge was keeping the motor alive. quite a bit of strategy comes into play with gearing selections and tires etc.
How on earth can you enjoy racing so fast. I can't even see them... lol

There was some tracks like this in southern Ontario. They all seemed to have come and gone.

Does RaceWorld in Thornhill ring a bell? Late 90s I was racing there. Had a drag strip aswell!!
I used to race group 7 open wing cars till the place near me shut down😢
there just little blurs on the screen you just see the racers heads going from side to side as they try to keep up with the speed of those cars
california is the epicenter of slot car racing or it was when i was racing.i think it was called buena vista speed and sport

After some practice it becomes easy like the car is a sixth sense. An extension of your body and mind. It also helps that drivers usually pick and stick with their favorite color car.

I was thinking the same, cpt Kirk.. How on earth can they keep track of this? Unless it's all flatout it looks impossible to throttle control this. Insane fast.. And we are used to Warp and FTL, so we know what fast is. lol.

I'm not in the class with these guys, but my son has a wood 8 lane track and we have wing cars turning laps around 600 mph in scale.....JC
so is this a super common track design because im pretty sure this is the same track in my area.
lt's called a "King" and it is the standard design for wing car championships since the 60s.

I couldn't tell you the voltage as I myself am new to the hobby, but yes, they are really that fast. I've seen it in person, and it's nuts.
They run at 13.8V
high current. the motors pull~40 amps at start, cruise(full on) @ ~2 amps. 120,000+ rpm. this has been going on since the 70s actual 70mph+ ~mach2 @scale

No, these are much faster then Parma cars.
These G7 motors cost at least 500 up very high tech expensive hobby

The vision and hand eye coordination of the drivers is impressive.
Honestly the only real driving is on White, red purple and black, the other 4 lanes those guys were running flat out. And believe it or not, the ear is better than the eye at this level

@@33LB In the middle (green to yellow) yes probably, but red, white purple and black (the outside 4) are almost impossible even with those bodies
