Oasis were massive in the '90s and continue to enjoy popularity today. They are FAR from one-hit wonders, they have a a lot of hits, combined with an outstanding back catalogue. The band centered around two brothers, Noel Gallagher, the primary songwriter, and his brother Liam Gallagher, the lead singer. This was held at Knebworth in 1996, over 2.5 million people applied for tickets. I highly recommend checking out the performance of "Slide Away" from the same show.
@@eirebhoy132 As a Londoner myself I am aware of that, and know how big Oasis were in the 90s and the clamour for tickets recently after they reformed. I was just saying that although they are far from one-hit wonders in the UK and several other countries, they are in America and so was saying that in response to the OP saying of Oasis "they are FAR from one-hit wonders". As far as I am aware, Garth Brooks has only had one what you might call a hit single here in the UK, but Americans would laugh at the thought of him being labelled a one-hit wonder when he has charted numerous times over there.
@ Gareth brooks is huge that’s a poor example, well here in Ireland anyway, sold out croke park years in advance for 5 nights I believe to nearly half a million people, also oasis did break America their American dates have also sold out, tbh up until 8 years ago I would have called oasis one hit wonders as I only knew wonder wall but it wouldn’t make me right it would make me ignorant.
@@eirebhoy132 Garth Brooks is a perfect example and the fact that he only really had one hit here in the UK but is huge elsewhere is my exact point about why others not in the UK would find it odd to hear him described as a one hit wonder based on his UK chart hit, when he might well have had several charts hits in their country. And the issue was not really about breaking America or selling out dates regarding Oasis, it was about them being described as one-hit wonders in America when they are far from that elsewhere. That includes 24 Top 40 hits in Ireland, including four number ones too. And that said, although I am not necessarily saying it applied to Oasis but if a UK band goes over to America and plays a venue that only holds 2,000 for example, if they fill that venue then they will have sold it out.

Coincidentally Wonderwall was such a big hit here in the UK if you ever pick up a guitar and play the first few chords, everyone will moan because it’s usually the first song everyone learns to play….. that’s why I use the progression for a cover of the Thong Song 😉
They are fascinating on and off stage as a band and as brothers. They split after an argument around 2007 between the two brothers Liam and Noel and haven't spoken to each other since. Very sad for the fans but sad for them as family too.
They were one of the largest bands in the world and defined an entire generation
You probably won’t see this as it’s a 10 month old reaction, ‘one hit Wonder’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣 to date (dec 24) over 100 million albums sold, Stadium World tour reunion sold our in minutes. At least 20 other songs for you to react to. Love the channel mate.
oasis were and still are massive 30 odd years on
I WAS THERE !!
You should do Slide Away or Whatever from Knebworth concert, two of their best.
A one hit wonder all depends on what country that one hit charted in.
Some well known names in music can be one hit wonders in one country and then have a whole string of hits elsewhere and in their own country.
The brothers were forever fighting among themselves, even on the stage!
Oasis made the 1990’s
Definitely no one hit wonder! Every generation in the UK knows this song word for word 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
