My heart is broken, my best friend for about 40yrs is gone. I have so many incredible memories, we laughed so much when he would visit Hawaii to regenerate, and play! I loved him so very much. I'm so glad I got to visit him last year....He was one of a kind!! He loved Hawaii, that's how we met in the early 70's when he visited our Polynesian show where I was dancing.....I will miss you so much!! Love you Rip!!
The best of my childhood are vanishing. RIP Rip Taylor. You were indeed a very funny comic that brought smiles to everyone’s faces. You were what a humble comic truly exemplified
I Adored Rip as a child and to this day....he was brilliant at what he did. My mom was often depressed and had a very unhappy life but Rip always made her laugh.....I only wish I could have seen him perform live, it would've been an honor to have him throw confetti at me....Rest In Peace Rip you were one of a kind ~ 💖 💖 💖
I saw him back in the early 80's in this sketch comedy revue called Sugar Babies in Atlantic City NJ. He was an absolute riot! It breaks my heart to realize another icon from my youth is gone, and my world feels a lot sadder for it. R.I.P. Rip, and I thank you for the pure comedic joy you brought to this world!
A Legend So many laughs RIP brought to this world. Sometimes on one of those tough days in life. It was great to sit in your favorite chair and just laugh.
Excellent interview! This little talk makes you warm up to him(Rip Taylor) and become even more fond of his personality. I have a new respect for Rip Taylor
His hands are huge lmaooooo... sammy kept him employed for over 12 years.... i remember him tearing up talking about growing up... vadville at its best... this is an interesting take on how things work in Hollywood... hes a hoot
I can’t listen to my Jackie Gleason lps anymore w/o thinking of how nasty he was to Rip. Firing Rip after a show because he looked Jackie in the eyes and touched him during a performance. Long live Rip.
@@tylersullivan1875 how many times do people have to tell you yes he did die. Sadly, yes he is gone. 84 years on this Earth, not enough, he will be missed greatly.
@@CattailCat he didn't die until October I posted this before hand she commented 3 years ago so no at the time I commented he wasn't dead yet he got mistaken for rip torn either way both of em dead now
I think Rip Taylor wasn't a success because he was funny; I think he was a success entirely because of his personality; no-one else was like Rip Taylor. I've seen him in other things; and he was actually a good actor. I wish I could have seen him do more different types of characters in films.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside childish ways. 1 Corinthians 13:11
@Bryan Kay : So what if he supported gay marriage or not, he was a comedian and he was a human being and he had choices in life just like everybody else. I don't know why I should have to defend him to you , you're obviously too ignorant to even understand what I'm saying. God Rest his soul Rip Taylor was unique and wonderful and one of the best entertainers of this century. Pretty crappy of you to bring up such a petty subject when the man just passed on to his Heavenly home. Why don't you go whine to somebody else, you'll get no sympathy from me and I dare say anyone who ever met him or knew of him. Who cares if he supported gay marriage. Not important, he was a beautiful human being that's all that matters.
Ah Rip! No profanity or mean comedy. Just wild laughter & great one liners combined with his outrageous personality. One of the few entertainers who could make me laugh just seeing him enter a room because you knew it was going to be fun.🥸🤓😂🤣

I had no idea until I grew older.
Thanks for the memories, Rip.
I met Rip way back in 1980. He was a wonderful warm and charming man, who prided himself as a clown. A truly blithe soul. RIP
