Was told I needed to replace the Purge Valve Vapor Line because the retaining clip was gone not allowing the line to stay on. I can't find the actual part I need for that. Any help??
Good to know part & show how to replace. But didn’t understand the gauge measurement or if when you put your thumb on the hose if you had suction or if blowing. When you did it again at the end, it appears there was no airflow either direction
It's a vacuum line so it had suction. When the valve is bad it allows suction whether the valve is on or off. At the end, with the replacement valve it shut off the suction when the electrical plug was disconnected (valve was off), so he demonstrated that it was fixed.
😊so does that mean I am test with my finger and unplug connector (without Gauge) to fix problem ??? Have reset code 3x in 1 week looking for root cause on 2017 Ford Edge - runs fine - annoying check engine light
So does this mean that I can test vac with my finger without a guard ? Reset error code 3x in 1week lookin for prob on 2017 Ford Edge - car runs ok - annoying check engine light

2011 ford edge ,same code. Car shakes and dies at stop light sometimes then it's fine then its not. Going to replace this and hope thats the issue. No misfire codes, just the evap code and some o2 codes
If this valve is faulty, will it not only cause the engine light and codes plus will it cause the car to shake when on drive and stop? The car shakes a bit more when then the AC is on.
Short answer, No. If the cars computer turned the engine light on, it essentially ignores that system(emissions system in this case) and adapts to the new amount of air and fuel entering the engine. For the shakiness, a likely suspect is a bad engine or transmission mount(heavy rubber blocks they rest on). Should be videos on how to check this. Also, a misfiring cylinder could cause shakiness. Good luck!
@@hillbillyrigrepairs1814 wish I had you as a mechanic, engine light is off and mechanic saying, nothing is wrong and I don’t know what to look for since there is no code.
Those clips stay in the fitting, all you have to do is press the big flat side, and pull. It is a quick disconnect. I removed those clips for years until someone told me this.
Mine is shaking badly at stops, it did give out the code for the vacuum EVAP leak, and it did have a bad engine mount to top it off. It's not a transmission problem, but the mount for it may have gone out. Stop overfilling your gas to give it more longevity. It's a 2015 Edge Ecoboost SEL 2.0. Its burning fuel wildly.
@@DG-oo8zf yes same here and the gas needle flutters up and down wildly. Even when I fill up I need to stop before the clock or else it over fills and spits it back up.
@@roryjoseph7645 No, I have a guy, who works inside Ford. Confirmed the problem for me. Ford valve was on National Backorder. Ordered a Dorman replacement. Installed and problem solved. There are hundreds of TH-cam videos covering this also. This valve should be part of the 60,000 mile maintenance!!!

Numbers seem good. Don’t want pressure below -1psi or greater than 1psi, generally. Do the conversations to Pa, inch H2O, etc. Drive car on hot day. Turn engine off. Pa should increase as vapor pressure builds up

@@willwork2fish261 brake booster had an extremely large leak. replaced it and problem solved.

My 2019 ST has the same code and it's the Evap purge valve.
Damn, they must have charged you the diagnostic to confirm error code.... assholes!!

That was not a 2018 Ford Edge. There is no place behind the engine to locate the control system, they have move the location.
