I was born and raised in Benin City (Imuetinyan proves it). I always say that Benin may not win a beauty contest with some other cities but you can travel the entire world and never find another city quite like it.

Upper is so cool, it's about understanding each other,most of the house is build by people who travel out and farmers,is a city of his own, the government should do something to improve upper, stress light and erosion control bad road etc

Guy your comments here turned me off, upper has multiple lanes connecting the city centre. Bypass connected Sapele Road, Agbor Road and Auchi Road, Erediawa Road, Eweka Road and St. Saviour Road are all good feeder roads connecting upper.

I have been to Benin and upper because I lived in ikpoba okha LGA I think upper is over hyped for real , because I’ve stayed in onitcha , aba and porthacourt For me I feel like if you no find trouble, problem no go find you
Upper sokponba is actually a tough place, u see boys gathering everywhere especially of the main road, and u don't talk to them anyhow or they will beat you up and their is low night life here too because of crimes. But if you grew up here I will know how to navigate and stay out of trouble

Nigeria is crazy as far as gang, terrorism and kidnappings but it looks like it's also full of hard working decent people and the entrepreneurship of Nigerians is impressive. Nigerians make the best of what they have. You see small business everywhere. Even without much funding Nigerians build thriving communities.
Lovely!❤Most places in benin is foreign to me tbh.😅 Half of Nigerian problem is caused by lack of government,or should l say lack of analytical,critical thinking government.The area is crying out for a dualised road,that would not only get rid of roadside shanties,those rubbish and elevate the area,it will also make the road a major road instead of a street.By turning it to a major road,it will change the current mindset of the residence thereby reducing the challenges in the area.A better road infrastructures/network will keep the people busy and engage,which will reduce crime...I think obaseki is from the neighboring local government,he should dualise the road that leads to his village then..😅Thank you.

They should plant trees and pave everywhere and Paint the houses and renew the roofs with modern day roofing sheets subsidized by the State etc

I started living in upper since 1996 and I have seen so many things growing up in upper. If you don’t belong they will not harass you. Why not try recording deep down st saviour then you will know that upper is still learning

Why have they not yet TARRED and paved everywhere there with street lights and manufacturing and producing plants in-between the areas there including recreational centers and playgrounds for Children and Adults and mini stadium for sports and modern shopping mall and modern open well decorated market and health centres etc around the area which employs People,provide daily activities for the People and the areas become SECURE INDEED????.

Upper Sakponba, is not a bad place to live, it is a very good place to live peacefully if you are peaceful yourself, is just that it accommodate all shades of people. It is so lively. Other places can also turn out to be worst than Upper tomorrow, if thickly populated. What people do not understand is that Upper will eventually turn out to be a big city, it is only a matter of time, every other great city like Onitcha in the East started like this.

For some years now, there has been series of cult killings/robbery, but upper Sokponba has been calm.
U claim the road is bad, have u ever seen vehicles/trailers fall along upper like sapele Rd?
The hold up at upper is nothing compared to that of sapele Rd cos there are lots of diversion routes. So, it's not just a straight direction from ring road to idogbo lik u claimed.
Upper Sokponba is peaceful but the people hate oppression of any sought.
