I bought this machine the other day. I have no idea what I'm doing. I can't believe I figured it out, and now, every morning, I'm making a fun coffee instead of just the regular boring watered-down coffee I make out of the K-Cup. this machine is awesome. I'm so glad I bought it. It took me two years to decide, and I'm so glad I waited and got this one. Thanks for all your really helpful information😊
One thing I’m wondering if it’s going to be an issue for me is not having the right bean for espresso vs drip in the True Brew since you can only have one bean type in there only. I do select the bold button to help with that. I’ve moved over from the Nespresso Vertuo Next only cause I was tired of the limited selection in drip coffees and the over exaggerated foam. I just wanted to get straight to the black coffee. But loved the espresso on the Nespresso and that I could have a specific pod/flavor varietal for that.
Hi Tim! On the TrueBrew you will use the same bean for the drip coffee as you will for the espresso-like beverage. If you are looking at a whole new unit you can still use the same beans, but a true espresso roast is best used with this machine :)
Thanks for the review. For ease for my wife to make her latte in the morning before work, I have to get the Touch. In saying that, I understand that the touch comes with their own tamper but would I be able to use the internal grinder for coffee into the portafilter and then use my own tamper, WDT, Gravity distributer before I pull the shot? Thank you
Question on the Barista Touch Impress: Can you remove the puck and stir to remove chunks / even out the pile, then put it back in the machine to tamp it or does the machine prevent this or will it screw up the program?
I have never had a Barista machine and am somewhat a novice! But this video is for me, to help me become more confident in understanding terms and procedures. I may have to splurge and get this thing! Does it steam Heavy Cream? I love heavy cream!

As someone who wants Caffeinated and Decaffeinated drinks in their household. When I buy the Barista Touch Impress I was also planning on buying a separate grinder which I will use specifically for decaf beans. If I make a new profile on the touch impress for Decaf will that work? This may sound really stupid but can I switch between decaf and caffeinated coffee in the barista impress daily for different drinks and will the machine learn those two different types of coffee consistently without the hassle of having to keep dialing in because I switch to decaf or caffeinated or do I need two separate barista impress machines to do this?
You can memorize the grind size for each, then purge in between swapping beans. It would likely dose wrong but you just do the add a bit more function. Just based on my first week of use. You could get half caff coffee blends.
First off id like to know if you had problems with the temperature my shot doesn't come hot even with the temperature setting set a +4. And secondly, im a novice in the espresso world so I'd like to know how to pull a lungo from the barista touch 😅
Watching your videos made me purchase this machine through your online store, the crema looked fantastic and everything else about this machine. BUT, this is not what I'm getting. We must have spent close to $100 of coffee in 2 weeks of owning it. It's never stable. The system says 30 second shots are too quick (even had a 40 second shot and said it was too quick). No crema or barely any. We used fresh beans from 2 different local roasters (within the timeframe you specified), used old beans (Starbucks, Bridgehead, William's) and it's always the same. We need to keep adjusting the grind size because from one cup to the next it's never the same. It's a VERY frustrating machine to use as it's never stable like it's intended to be. Not sure what the return window is but I'm not too far from boxing it back up and shipping it back. Did we get a lemon?

@@ecscoffeeinc Thanks ECSCoffee for the reply. I found the issue!!! It’s the Impress System. Since it’s supposed to be automatic what type of troubleshooting can there be? Oh, a lot. First off, the Impress System is flawed. It gives shots from 20 to 40 seconds. The impress tamp is never consistent. So, I started removing my portafilter after the grind and equalizing the grinds, then adding it back and tamping after. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I’m consistently in the range of 26 to 31 seconds!!! I find it too bad for Breville to try to make a machine to help people make easier espressos, but this isn’t the case. Too bad, I would have bought a cheaper machine if that was the case. Lessons learned, I guess. Nonetheless, we are making fantastic Espresso now with a bit of fiddling around! :)

I have been on the fence whether to buy the Breville Barista Touch or the Touch Impress. I read that the Touch does not produce hot coffee. Is this true if the Touch Impress also?
Just purchased. Need to upgrade from my Breville Pico Barista since the super automatic doesn't really allow much creativity. The only drawback will be finding someone to take my old machine.
@ecscoffeeinc thanks, I didn't know that. I'll be coming from a budget pod machine. Looking at this Breville machine and the Delonghi maestro with cold brew.
Never had a espresso machine but just returning from Italy I want one! Did some research and this machine comes on top from several different sites. My whole life I used either a Ninja coffee maker or a percolator. Can this machine warm coffee mate creamer or flavored coffee creamer or would that not be recommended? Nice job on the video!
We are loving this machine, probably more than the oracle touch 😉You can't brew and steam at the same time but you can set your milk up to steam once your espresso has poured.
@@ecscoffeeincWhat is the difference? What is espresso roast? I got the only decaf available at the roast shop, it was organic single origin medium roasted a week ago.
@@Carolyn7hoffman Espresso roast is typically medium, but it is more of a suggestion! The roaster will label a bag as espresso roast if they believe it will be best enjoyed as espresso :)
After increasing my grind size for some new beans, my machine makes me press a bit more during grinding about 10 times. I’ve made a dozen shots and it will not calibrate. Anyone have any suggestions?
We also have the oracle, and I suggest anyone ignore any claim these machines perform similarly. The puck quality is not great, and the steamed milk quality is a 4 out of 10 (the oracle is a 7 out of 10). @lifestylelab - what is with the black funnel under the portafilter basket for? To me it serves no purpose than than to hide poorly distributed grinds By deceptively ensuring the user only sees a perfectly equal split of espresso coming out of the two portafilter spouts. The ECS comparison review is an interesting one because you have a hard time hiding their feelings about performance even then you keep plowing through the comparison. Maybe I got a dud, but it this point I went from recommending Breville without reservation, but now I don’t want the responsibility for other people’s disappointment. Maybe I would feel better if there were software updates to make it better. Here are the reasons for oracle over this: better bigger easier to access water tank. Real auto dosing, “DISTRIBUTION “, and tamping. Really good (not watery) steamed milk.
@@2006mrderrickh there are too many options and a lot depends on level of hobby interest. To be clear, this is a good machine, but I think the praise is overdone. It was the same our unit. Is it better than similar priced machines? I am not sure. It is clearly not a good as proclaimed here and not even close to what the Oracle can do.
$1500 is a bit high. If it hits closer to $1000 on a sale, I think it’d be an easier choice. Honestly though, at $1500 it’s still probably worth it over almost any superautomatic machine at the same price.
