Dan, you need to install a catwalk in the turret with a rolling library ladder to access an amazing view out of the turret windows. Also a great opportunity to create some library bookshelves around the perimeter and a huge antique oak desk right in the middle of the room. What an office it would make!!

Idea for the turret - how to see out of the windows: Build a 30” wide wooden walkway around the perimeter of the room at a height where the stone meets the cinder block. As there is already a ledge that you can extend and support with either 45 degree bracing back to the stone wall beneath or a simple floor joists system. It would maintain the internal height of the turret room while being at a suitable height, while standing, to provide 360 degree view from the sum of the four windows. At 30” wide there appears there will be sufficient headroom to clear the inward slope of the roof. 😎👍
"Oh no, not those two measuring again." "I hate to say it but I think we're going to have to get a bigger digger." Love you guys! Your humour and good-natured teasing brings a welcome supply of levity to this world.
You could install a very narrow winding metal staircase (with railings) along the insides of the tower that lead up to the turret. Then, you could have a narrow walkway around the inside of the turret so people can see out the windows. This will give you access to the beautiful view, it will not interfere with the natural light coming in and it would be an absolutely kicka$$ feature of the château.
More of this kind of videos, the achievements are great no doubt what is more impressive is that those guys keep the team work and energy and this is a very good sign that they will continue to be successful. This gave this channel a new perspective anyone noticed that or is it just me?
We have noticed! It's staggering that Dan's vision has attracted not only many talented craftspeople, but that Team Chaumont has bonded into a band of siblings.
It would be a good idea to remove the ivy from garden wall while you can access it with a machine. The ivy will eventually penetrate the mortar and weaken the wall. Left long enough it will literally crack and disassemble the wall.
It's been there for 40 years, but I suspect that the worst damage occurred when the fire baked the old mortar into dust. Team Chaumont has removed vegetation and repointed the mortar (and replaced missing bricks with more durable modern bricks) as needed. You might enjoy going back to Spring 2024 to watch every vlog.

I hope the sheeting that you’ve put on the outside of the turret holds together, but it looks amazing. Keep up the good work time is flying by.
