Fr those items are DEFINITELY not worth the amount of money they're being sold for. They have a team of coders and designers and it probably would've taken them a couple days or less to actually make these items (excluding brain storming ideas and changing small features). I mean this is their income but they seem to forget that Sky players aren't all super rich 😭😭😭.
FINALLY someone’s doing this. I’ve been DEATHLY afraid to say anything without being punished for it because apparently TGC completely ignores the fact that OTHER COUNTRIES deal with inflation. 💀
And it's not just the prices, but also the fact that EVERYTHING is an IAP. There is barely anything you can buy with candles anymore, and if you can it's either something very small and/or useless or it costs insane amounts of candles/hearts. They've become so greedy
I know right! This frustrated me so much. Not only this, but they have left "not so cool" items for candle purchase. I just don't buy anything from the game.
yes, this! this is the main issue. the current season (Moomin) and event (Halloween) is a slap in our face. do you want something nice? pay pay PAAAAAAAY
@@mint_zzz like how they said, "dont worry, we're gonna make it so there's more tickets than you actually need so you dont have to worry if you skip a few days! :)" BULLSHIT, if you miss 3-5 days you're done-zo
It's like- at first when I saw people complaining about the game's prices I was still looking at Sky with rose tinted glasses and was like "Y'all, you don't need to buy everything, TGC's not a perfect company and they're small!! You guys are getting obsessed with cosmetics >:(" But after like.. 4 years of playing, I've come to realize that TGC is, equally, obsessed with the cosmetics atp They aren't bothering to fix bugs in their game, or account for the amount of traveling spirits that will come with every season and how it takes 2 years for a single one to come back, and how long it'll take for newer seasons to have their respective TS arrive. They're constantly making new content, and forgetting about everything else. Are we just supposed to wait 20 years for a single spirit from Season #429854986427836 to come back? There's so many things the devs are just not accounting for because they're too busy adding more useless content that players are gonna forget about in 2 weeks. They'll come up with new mechanics and abuse them to HELL to the point where they aren't even unique mechanics anymore. They'll make interesting things like the trials from the Season of Prophecy, and not realize their obsession with making new seasons and candle wax is making interesting ideas like that completely obsolete. They _could_ be adding new content to the trials, or, yknow, *_giving us more things to do in their videogame,_* but they choose to continue this cycle of making a new high budget section in their shopping mall of cosmetics with random tasks to do in between, that feel more like daily quests than STORY QUESTS for a SEASON. The new areas don't even feel like actual places. When was the last time ANYONE went to Season of Flight area, or the Season of Abyss area, or even the Season of MOMENTS area for _fun?_ There's nothing to do in these areas. There isn't any candle wax to farm, so no one cares. The Season of Moments area is by far the most beautifully made area in the GAME in my opinion, but after a few weeks of a season ending, literally nobody goes to the season area anymore. This is HORRIBLE for new players, too. There are so many areas being added that it's bound to overwhelm new players. Atp the size of the map could end up being the size of an entire MINECRAFT world. I doubt they even know how they're going to account for the increase in wings that players are being able to get, like... what are they gonna do once we get 15 wings? Are they just gonna continue making the wing design on the back more complicated to compensate? They're only focusing on fanservice and jingling capes in everyone's faces to distract the community from SCREAMING at them to fix their nonsense. TGC has completely missed the point of their game to begin with. It's literally supposed to be a game about making friends, and a beautiful story about reconnecting with relics of the past, and rebuilding a world once destroyed by greed. But it's instead become an oversaturated MESS of a bajillion different areas, and going broke on things for the sake of having pretty clothes; Quite literally, for the sake of GREED. The most hilarious part is the fact that I couldn't expand my friendship trees with my friends because I would go PAINFULLY broke in the process. Like-- care to tell me why a freaking HANDSHAKE EMOTE is almost 20 candles??? What the hell is the point of making friends or building friendships if you can't, _unless_ you have enough candles to do so??? Sky genuinely used to be a comfort game for me, I'm so... SO disappointed knowing that after a month or two of not playing, I've learned that the only things I've missed are more overpriced cosmetics and half of the new cosmetics in Season of Moomin being IAPs. I am so done defending TGC for destroying the very game they made. They took such a beautiful game with a beautiful message, and completely drained so many players of their money AND energy just to buy digital clothes. It hurts more knowing this very game that had basically saved me from the darkest point in my life, had gone even further down the deep end. Sky is basically just a high budget Animal Jam. edit: i just realized i said Season of Moments twice in my 5th paragraph SORRYYY WNJFNSJFBHS
So many good points. And yeah like you’ve said it’s not just the iaps or the cosmetics as a whole. People can’t even afford friendships now because of the atrocious pricing. I also heard conversations about tgc putting so much of their focus into collabs just to turn around and paywall us. It’s just sad because from the moment I heard it, I couldn’t even doubt what they were saying. How else could the limited edition capes leading to the separate areas be explained? And the cool items all being locked behind the SP or iaps? IAPs being especially greedy because aren’t “season passes” supposed to grant players access to the exclusive items in seasons?? Why else would it be called a SEASON PASS? Sky also used to be a comfort game for me years ago, but the game and it’s environment has just lost it’s original beauty.
I agree completely :( I will say though, the Season of Moomin is the whole reason I found out what Moomin was, and Snufkin, of course, is everyone's favourite character. The thing with that is TGC knew that the most relatable character would be Snufkin, so if any of the players looked into it they'd relate to him INSTANTLY. Then it goes as follows: Oh my gosh! He's so adorable and relatable! I know what it feels like to want to get away, and to be overwhelmed by people sometimes! Okay, since there's a Moomin season there's sure to be a Snufkin cosmetic or two- HOLY BANK ACCOUNT. It's how it's been since The Little Prince I think :/
@@wintarsc3ne904yesss. Like tell me WHY I need to spend almost 100 seasonal candles for a small, simple BELL NECKLACE?!! Past season were sooo fun. This is why season of prophecy and back were the best. This game is slowly killing itself.
In my country, the raven cape and broom together cost enough to the point where I could literally waltz into a decently pricey restaurant or buy some clothes and stuff with it Not to mention, as if that wasn't enough, both the new cape and outfit for Days of Music are going to be IAP too Edit: waiting for TGC worshippers to call us "entitled" and "ungrateful", that "we don't need to buy cosmetics" and that "we can stop playing the game"
Fr tho. No duh we don’t have to get them, but we WANT them and most of the fanbase are kids that don’t have that level of money. Not to mention that not everyone has the time to get enough event currency for the cosmetics we want because of how high the requirement is. Even as an adult, I find the prices absolutely ridiculous because economy already sucks krill ass.
nah fr, and when you miss a day of sky you might risk not even being able to do the season pass etc. like in another game w a battlepass, i played in the last week of the season and finished every tier and was able to get the big “ultimate reward” equivalent. in sky, if i play for one week i wouldn’t come close :/
I think the Sky community is really really tame on that topic. They say things like "it's been like that for years" and ... and what? It can't change now? Do you want an overpriced cosmetic in a game that will die in a couple of years? What's the point? Sky is rapidly becoming a "Glorified Online Shop with Interactions," and the community just accepts it? "But I can talk to various people in the world," you can do that in ANY social media. "You don't need to pay for the cosmetics. It's optional." Then I will do what? Play the game? WHAT GAME? Sky is not even that. The story of the game is just the first Eden you do, then it's finished, it's not expanded upon, no new areas for the story, no King showing up, just IAP, cosmetics, IAP, cosmetics, IAP, cosmetics until you in the very end finally wake up and go away, but TGC did get your money in the end. I'm planning to see all the events at least one time and then go away. It's such a shame that this beautiful universe is just being stained by this greed. Funny enough, this matches the Lore, the King was greedy with power with the Eden Crystal, and this killed everyone in the Sky universe. Can we save it or die just like in the end?
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. I recently came back to sky to see the seasons I missed and was really shocked by the IAP prices. most iaps I have where some that contributed to a cause and for charity, and now we see those same prices but for no external cause at all ?? just for greed ??? if they were more generous (and extended the story like you mentioned, that is a genius idea that the fanbase has waited a long time to know about) the game wouldn't be at an almost dying stage like today that is just to say spit yo shit 🗣️🗣️
'you would make more money if they were actually affordable' is so real and I cannot fathom what is going on with TGC these days, at this point they are risking losing players that have been loyal (some for 4 years!) and the game crashing and burning as they scramble to squeeze more money out of the few people that are left... who will probably also give up and move on. I don't want sky to die from its own shortsighteness but these prices are like a death knell to me
Yeah, I think I prefer buying iap since those don't have time limits attached to them once their bought, season passes are definitely too exhausting as they are now though(I'd really appreciate it if they lowered the pressure).
Been playing since 2018 and I can def say the IAPs are ridiculous now. That's a big understatement. Also don't give me the BS that is "purchase IAPs to support the devs" I mean sure if TGC was still a "small indie company"then maybe, but that's def not the case now ☠️ Edit: I've done a fair share of 3d modeling and rigging of models in games and mods and bro there's no way I'd ask $20 USD for that broom stick. Most I'd ask for is maybe $2.99. Someone is making BANK on sky and that worries me. Edit 2: what's worse is the FOMO that is targeted at children and teens due to the games player base. That alone is disgusting. Edit 3: I think it's time we push back against TGC on these buisness practices. As long as we a significant portion of the active community is onboard, I'm sure we can make an impact. -Auzi
🗣facts. they even won a Guinness world record, what more could TGC possibly want? i don't want sky to go down like club penguin. but toby fox makes better games than TGC and i can afford to play them. unlike sky...its high time we start speaking up about their recent questionable business practices. it lowkey feels like financial child exploitation. (cause most players are literal minors) they may not listen to our valid concerns and call it complaining but its better to have at least tried than to just standby and do nothing as they take advantage of their youthful, naive player base. 💀💀
I'm so glad that youtubers are starting to talk about this too because I am a kid and I those items are just REALLY PRETTY BUT THE PRICE??? I think that TGC should really stop making things so overpriced ;-; P. S. Welcome back Emptea :3 How have you been? Glad to see that you got some motivation back :D Sending tea and cookies >:3 🍵
That was the reason I decided to speak up! I’m aware I still have a relatively large audience, although now it’s become a minority compared to the current amount of players in the game. But if TGC won’t listen to simple criticism given by their own players then maybe I should shoot my shot to shed more light on the issue. And thank you! :)
I have been speaking about it from 1st month. And it's been more than 3.5 years for me. I both love and hate this game. Gate it more coz of the way TGC is actually super unfair in the name of fairness. Their pricing reflects Apple's greediness. They actually increased the prices in Google play store and other places coz Apple costs are higher. So have to be fair. Their pricing for developing nations is actually much higher as they charge higher currency conversions. While there are many apps that are lower priced in developing nations. Totally unfair in relation to purchasing power parity. And when the player base defends it telling taxes. And they need to maintain server. That has costs. Don't I have brains to know that. Geeezzzzz.
@@EmpteaSCOTL yea that's one thing that I sent TGC an email about those things and that was some time ago but still no answer. My dad wrote them an email about how good the game was and within a day he got a reply. We both sent it from gmail and to the same mail. It's almost as if they ignored the mail saying the issue. Also I should be the one thanking you because your videos gave me a lot of serotonin and motivation >:3
Most, if not all, of my friends have already quit Sky. Now that even the prices for in-game currency items are rising, I'm contemplating quitting as well
Same, I've limoted myself that I'll only buy the Season Passes, so far I've bought 3 so I've only spent 30 quid on the game but I have to keep telling myself it was worth it or else i start getting depressed because this game is soul sapping if you give in to its greed
Mhm, I liked paying for days of colour, cause it was for a good cause. But moomin cape definitely was, so I'll have to play a lot in the pretty house wearing a cape that looks like Ninny's(:D) dress to make it worth it(less of a scam if I play more, I hope).
Ours is 1.4k, which is crazy. 1k+ is enough to feed a family for a month and the fact that we are also dealing with inflation in our country makes the prices even more painful..
TBF it isn't just the IAP.. The prices of any item past the OG stuff is *INSANE*. I spent months grinding after I came home from work and did chores until bed, 20 candles a day - And one TS and they're like, all gone. One event, all gone. And I stand there having to prioritize what I want to buy as its the first time in like 4 years this spirit has arrived and it probably wont arrive until 4-6 more if the game is still going. The memories collecting wax helped me a lot, as I could do my 20 candles quicker in the evening and actually have time to chat with friends and goof around in the game without feeling pressure to get those candles first. And then they removed the wax collecting memories because hackers (though many used warps with friends too, so legit means) made it TOO EASY FOR US TO GET CANDLES. When a CAPE can cost like 200 candles. It's just. Very disheartening... Don't burn out. Or steal your parents card info to buy stuff. Or spend impulsively if you do not have money for daily life. Stay safe fellow skids.
The prices for cosmetics is absolutely insane, the journey cosmetic pack costs more than the actual game itself. And with the current Moomin season, you can see that all the spirits are filled with random nest objects instead of something that more people care about like emotes. The few free accessories in the spirit trees are random stuff like a bell and a bow tie.. Of course these spirits will return with free cosmetics, but that'll happen after 3 years. I hope TGC's next game doesn't fall into something like this.
*cynical tone on* - Who doesn't need crappy pictures for the wall, several carpets, differently shaped fire buckets, pointless wall patterns, ugly stone furniture, useless, boring decorative objects that do nothing, etc. etc.??? And let's be honest: since the nest season, hardly anyone has visited their nest... - *cynical tone off* 😑
@@amaprana personally, i never use my nest because i don't find much fun in it. however, there are people who do use them alot. but all of these decorative objects are so random, i really doubt most people who do use the nests will use them much.
I’d thought they were starting to make serious changes when Season of Revival came out. It was a new introduction into the game where new players would be taught the basics of how seasons work, while also being given the chance to save up candles and get their very first cosmetics. The cosmetics for that season were cute but pretty basic in comparison to others, so I truly thought they were gonna be permanent for new players to get. But nope. The moment that season ended they all went away. I think that was a massively missed opportunity. It would be the perfect way to get new players hooked on the game. I started playing Sky during Seasons of Remembrance, and it was not easy, it took me 3 months of hard grinding before I was able to purchase anything good in game, and that’s cause I was determined. Most new players aren’t willing put in that time and effort. I really can’t believe how unbelievably unfriendly this game is to new players. 🙄
I've been playing for over three years now. When I was a moth, I too fell heavily into the fomo trap of missing out on expensive cosmetics that would never come back. I've learned since then, but the pressure really is real, and it's even worse now with prices continue to raise for every event. $30 for a stick that doesn't even work properly when you fly is wild. I can't even think of a reason or way to change it that would make it worth that price. You could buy an entire 40 hour game for that price on steam. You could buy a LOT for 30 bucks. Insanity. Also welcome back we missed you 💜🌌
Exactly!! With $30 I could go to a thrift store and by myself at least 6 shirts (maybe even 12 if it’s one of those “color of the day is half price” places
I’ve been playing the game since 2020 and I just feel so much cynicism towards TGC. And something I haven’t seen many people talk about is how fast they pump out new content. I’ve been very concerned about how they treat their artists, designers and programmers because of how much and how quickly be they get updates and content out. And on a players end, it feels as if there’s barely any time to caught a breather. The game seems to be more about the company making money than connecting people. I’m still grateful for the game’s existence as it lead me to make some of my closest friends and I’ve had some of the best story ideas thanks to its broken lore. But the point still stands, TGC is just like any other corporation and they only care about profits and income. If you made it this far thanks for reading, I usual never comment on any video.
And the content they pump out are not even close to finished! They're very clearly rushed, buggy, and littered with problems. They're overworking every single person there, I'm scared for them.
You are absolutely right!! And this apply to all free to play games. When we have normalized to pay this much many for a cosmetic that's just a tiny part of a game, when you can have a full entirely game for what in this game a cape costs?? It's ridiculous and is capitalism at its peak. We have to fight this
I've only been playing for about 4 1/2 to 5 years now, and the massive up spike in prices is indeed ridiculous. Too many things are now iap, things you can get with candles are overly expensive, and with how hard it can be to get hearts? Even heart priced items are expensive! TGC seems to think they can gouge us for money now. And that's just sad. Thank you for speaking up about it. Here's hoping that the ball will get rolling on this soon.
I am on the exact same page. Not even just the in-app purchases are too much, we’ve also been getting regular candle inflation, too, as well as ascended candles (which are so much of a hassle to get anyway). Still, though, I buy it. I play it. I love playing it. I love having the things. Oh, well. Very excited to see more Emptea videos again!
I've recently stopped playing Sky. Mostly because ever since the PC launch so many random and rude people have started playing Sky. It used to be a safe space foe me, not anymore. But yes, also because of these ridiculous economics. I'm not that affected because I have been playing for a long time and already have many cosmetics, so I don't struggle much with not getting new ones. But for newer players this must be insane. Yes, tgc has completely lost touch with their community. It is so sad.
I've actually started playing Sky recently. While I do enjoy the game, there's stuff I can't access, like the Aurora Concert. It's unfair for new players.
i’m so glad more and more people are speaking out about their frustrations, especially because there will always be a huge number of TCG glazers defending them with “oh but they’re just a small indie company!!!1!!” (they make millions of dollars every season). as someone who came back after four years of hiatus I’m genuinely appalled at how greedy they are now, I was never a fan of their prices to begin with but absolutely nothing should cost more than $5-10, maybe $15 for entire outfit sets (incomplete outfit sets are double that price currently…) the only thing being remotely worthwhile to buy is the season pass because it’s only $10 for several cosmetics. not only that but nowadays all the free items are genuinely garbage (a slip of paper for days of mischief??? are you serious????) while anything remotely decent is automatically made IAP. I hope TCG is at least made more aware of the growing dissatisfaction in the playerbase, especially with posts spreading awareness like this.
Bro this is so true and may I also add that I kinda think it's absurd that free items are very expensive. Now maybe I'm thinking through the perspective of a casual player but I don't think it's fair for a cosmetic that was originally a cheap amount of candles during there session, to suddenly be buffed up to 64 and then have your players to log in every day, grind for candles just to get an outfit or wings. And then may I also talk about the ticket system for the day's events and how I think that's kinda unfair. Unless you have all the time in the world, who is getting on every day to get like 5 or so tickets for items that range from 15-35 tickets, I would argue the candles were much easier than the ticket system. But then again I can see you getting more burned out playing this game. I just think there are certain prices of items that made me personally get burned out playing this game and can make me feel overwhelmed to hop on some time but that's my personal thoughts about it. Also welcome back, I hope you're doing well and that you're eating good food and drinking water. Take as much time you need 😊
I used to lurk in the beta section of the discord server cause I wanted to check on the next seasons cosmetics so I could save for what I wanted at the time. (Grinding candles was always miserable) People used to give feedback on the beta prices for the upcoming iap items and then one day TGC got tired of listening to their players that they just didn’t show the item prices in beta anymore. Haven’t played sky in a little over a year, maybe two I dunno😓 nor have I been in the discord, so I can’t say if they changed things in beta. But looking at what people are still saying about the increasing atrociously priced items gives me a sense of what the company and the game are still like. I feel like TGC might not ever really change tbh
as someone who started from season of sanctuary and has been constantly dropping in and out of the silly honk honk game, I was a little more reluctant to come back each time due to the not so silly prices increasing drastically since my start. I really do hope that they address this with honesty, and hope the fanbase doesnt just fall out due to oncoming pressure. Id really like this game to keep growing, but not when they take advantage of us like this.
In my country, one IAP cape can actually buy me tons of real clothes. Like tell me why game cosmetics cost me around 100? And the season pass is like 50?? It's simply outrageous!
I swear... These players just don't care about the lack of Regional Pricing 💀 It's probably the most toxic positivity I've ever came across ever since Genshin
Unfortunately tgc said back in 2021 in a blog post that regional pricing would equal regional servers so it means that you can’t play with ur European friend if you’re based in Asia. I don’t think regional pricing is an option here otherwise it would create a black market but they should defiantly do something😭
Dude even GENSHIN and other Hoyoverse games give you more for what you paid for, and it's a damn gacha game. Like- I play Zenless Zone Zero DAILY, and not ONCE did I have to buy polychromes cause their events alone already give me SO much when I save up. I dont feel the need to buy their battle pass equivalent unless I REEEALLY want it. I decided to save up on polychromes since I'm skipping the current banner, and I managed to get 3,000 polychromes from events and dailies/weeklies ALONE. Doing web events n stuff isn't even necessary, I just to it to get extra polychromes for fun, but it's genuinely baffling since I spent 2 months straight grinding for candles and only managed a little less than 250.
I thought the Raven cloak was going to be maybe $14.99 like the web cape and the broom would be the event ticket item, but jeez they want way too much for these things now! I was beyond disappointed about how much of The Season of Moomin was IAP as well. I know it's a collab event, but so much of the stuff that actually looks related to Moomin Valley is IAP just like the Cinnamoroll collab 😭
What's crazy is that in my country's currency we have to pay like two to five dollars more for items after conversion. This is despite the fact that we're from a developing country. I honestly dont understand how they expect poorer countries to pay even more for already expensive items. When i brought this up on facebook I got attacked by someone telling me its my fault i came from a poor country and that I lack education and should stop being a brat, etc... What's crazy is that I wasnt even asking for regional pricing -- even though I think it should be standard practice for games -- just that we pay the same as our american counterparts
aside from the insane prices, one thing that made me stop playing sky as regularly is that the game is straight up unplayable at times. doors wont open, servers split all the time, spirits are always glitching, a few days ago i couldn't even send hearts due to lagging issues! they have a beta and funding so i just cant understand why they dont prioritize fixing these issues that have been here ever since launch :/ its one thing to let your userbase be creative and do oobs/glitches, but to have us RELY on those because the game itself refuses to work is atrocious. i dont even candle run the realms anymore because i know i'll have to rocket/chibi and use shared space chairs just to get 5 candles
A month old moth here. I got cursed during mischief day and get this awesome antler. Went "Hey, that's so cool!". Check the shop and dropped my jaw at the price tag. Guess I'll stick with candle items. Also Shadowbringers jumpscare.
im in korea and with that price i could get a box of fried chicken. im so upset bc i love iap items bc its easier to get but the price is getting higher and higher as time goes
I joined Sky in October 2019 at the tail end of the Season of Lightseekers. I remember being able to collect all the masks, and two capes (with the help of one IAP). I played consistently until 2021 when I fell off HARD. I think this was due in part to becoming distant with the people I would play with, and the growing complexity of the world maps/lore. I left at the beginning of Season of Dreams (which seemed to be a really great season), and only came back a few weeks ago. I'm amazed at all the new areas they added, and the nesting concept. But MAN are these prices out of control. 45 candles for a single chair for my nest? 15 hearts for another piece of furniture? I'm starting to realize why I left in the first place. Back then, there weren't as many complex cosmetics. People used to wear the base style capes with pride, especially the black and white ones. Hell, I remember when they introduced different pants ! Nowadays, people are decked out in all sorts of cosmetics that I feel detract from the original concept of the game. Sure, everyone looks very nice but I feel that we're losing touch with the core aesthetics Sky originally set up. Sky kids wouldn't wear sunglasses and modern style t shirts, or backpacks and plushies. They're little wonderers that run around with no shoes on ! I understand that this opinion will probably be unpopular so I want to reiterate that I think the community has immense amounts of creativity when it comes to their outfits, but I personally feel it's all lost its charm. In the end I feel this departure from Sky's core aesthetics is due to TGC's insatiable desire for profit. It's really upsetting to me because many of the player's today never experienced the early days of sky. The Sky where we all ran around with constellation cosmetics and a few seasonal capes, and were more focused on the social aspect rather than the cosmetic one. Sure, there were still IAP back then, but they were never this bad. Maybe I'm letting my rose tinted nostalgia glasses get the better of me, but I digress. I miss the Sky I used to play. Now I'm falling victim to TGC's FOMO style marketing, and feel insecure and out of place with my basic outfits and cosmetics. I hope TGC listens to the community and reevaluates it's profit models and such.
Welcome to Sky! Sky: Children of In App Purchase! Where you wealth is part of the game! Need some pants? GIVE YOUR MONEY! Need some hair? GIVE YOUR MONEY! Need some cool cosmetics that will probably never come back again like ever?! GIVE US ALL YOUR MONEYYY!!! (I stop buying stuff in Sky cuz of the price just ridiculous, like some can cost half of my paycheck, I just had to do art commission for the stuff I like now. Still I won't do it alot cuz wasting money for pixels sometimes not worth it 😭)
Yeah, there have been plenty of items I would've bought if they weren't so expensive. Like, the broom is neat, but you know what else is neat? Having money to buy an entire $30 game
literally! and the broom glitches all the time! Im just taking some spells, testing it out, taking pictures, and calling it day. One item that occasionally glitches it not worth 20 (i live in the us) dollars
I've mentioned this on another video regarding the issue before, but the IAP costs can not only cover irl groceries or necessities, you can actually buy multiple video games for the price of a cape! I've had hours of fun replaying the first Ace Attorney trilogy recently and those 3 games are the same as 1 IAP cape without candles. I stopped candle running and I'm only logging in now to light friends' candles and to finish the Moomin season. After that, I'm gone! It's not worth the grind, the money and certainly not the time. I could have learned a musical instrument or language instead of wasting my time for expensive digital clothing. I love Journey and I loved Sky, but Sky gives me fomo and feels like a chore. I'd advise any new player to not dive into cosmetics and occasionally enjoy the game as a moth.
i miss when seasonal spirit trees weren’t riddled with props. season of prophecy/dreams were the only seasons i maxed out because everything else is mid
The Journey cosmetics pack is more expensive than the game Journey. That’s ridiculous. I have to imagine the prices are calculated based on how many people are buying them, right? Like, you’ll have players who’ll buy every cosmetic, and you’ll have those who’ll never spend any money. So it’s just a matter of adjusting prices to get the most out of reliable buyers while turning away fewer players who’re less willing to spend big. I’m sure they must have data showing that these higher prices still work for them. We’ll see if that keeps up, especially with the high prices hurting their reputation (seriously, that Journey pack).
It does make me really sad that so many *good things* in this game cost money. I managed to finally make a nice appearance for my sky kid that I liked, but I still felt weird having to pay so much money for it. I wish more ftp games would take a page out of Warframes book, because the devs at warframe *know* how to do in game purchases and still have a satisfied and happy playerbase.
Hey Emptea, just wanted to thank you for being my Sky inspiration when I was a moth all those years ago!!! :) I've been playing for a long time, and I've learned that you can't buy friends or memories. It is disheartening to see the decline, but with love, we can bring about change together. :)
first of all, HEY EMPTEA WELCOME BACK!! second, thank you so much for talking about this topic 🙏 I really hope that TGC someday will take the feedback into consideration cause I've talked to a lot of sky players and we all have the same opinion that the prices are just ridiculous. Sadly there will always be the people who defend TGC but I still hope that the recent uproar of disappointment in the community shakes TGC and wakes them up to stop this greediness.
I understand that devs need to be paid, too, but the prices are absolutely bewildering. Like, its not even consistent? Raven cape and broom for 20-30bucks , 15 for a bubble machine but an outfit costs 15bucks, too?? Make that make sense.
the days of mischief and the current season of moomin have brought me nothing but pain and collector's anxiety. I know I won't be able to get all the cosmetics 'cause I can't afford them (specially after I got scammed out of almost 200 dollars last week and my bank won't get my money back) and I won't stop paying my bills for them. It's pretty sad to watch the prices grow each year knowing that some of those cosmetics won't come back ever again :c
I only started playing Sky this year. The hyper aggressive monetization and grind needed just to stay on pace (daily quests for seasonal candles, along with just doing candle runs in general) is why I've already started feeling burned out despite having started in Season of Nesting. Unlike other live service games I play, Sky has rung me out and left me to dry with the sheer lack of ANYTHING to do besides try to stock up candles. The grind is the ONLY thing that brings you back, and literally nothing else, because seasons amount to an hour of overall content that's strung out across months of daily log ins just to afford the seasonal trees. This doesn't even cover the mini-events that they've had since I started. Mischief was the most disgusting showcase of favouritism towards IAPs I've seen in a long time, and this is just compounded by several of the mini-events I'd experienced beforehand. Days of Sunlight? Style? Moonlight? You had a minute selection of free cosmetics in the form of accessories or hairstyles, and literally everything else was an IAP. Oh, that's a nice torch you got from getting absolutely curb stomped as a Prairie member in the Tournament of Triumph! Just remember, that pair of pants you want is gonna take two whole weeks of candles to buy. Hopefully a traveling spirit that you've been waiting on for years doesn't surprise you next week! Who knows, if you get what you want now, you'll be desperate enough to pay for a candle booster pack to get that cape worth 200 candles. At the end of the day, for all of the live service games that I've played, Sky is the least respectful of my time and money hands down. It's actually atrocious how much I feel like a statistic to TGC, and it's so aggravating to see them fall from from grace as I've been a longtime fan because of games like Journey.
you know whats crazy? they TOOK a LIST of stuff i bought. i came back to the game and could not find days of earth cape, my little prince fox, my days of love items, witch jumper and hat, etc., etc.. and i messaged them about it and they havent responded so im beyond livid. they want to steal? fine. im gathering everything i can.
This just unfair for other countries too. I live in the Philippines and most of the IAPs even just a simple accessory were like almost 500 to almost 1k pesos like wtf??? I could literally use that money to buy food for the whole week. The prices don’t even make sense anymore it’s so unfair 👹
as someone who's been playing since early season of sanctuary - shattering, these prices just feels, o f f to look at living in a 3rd world country here that shan't be named, a small cosmetic worth 3usd could be the equivalent of one's entire daily work pay (I'm 21 & the horrors of jobposting keeps me up at night) many friends from well developed countries, let's say USA, have NEVER made so many purchases to gift to their friends, oh deer did they gifted so many people oranges during days of fortune (more than a dozen people) the pattern repeats & is shown among many more other friends of mine, they're all just happy being able to give something to the many people they care of sometimes affordability encourages purchases not just for oneself, but given to others too
They don't give a damn about losing old players... There are enough new ones. That's the principle: "take as much as we can, screw everyone else". What I'd have to pay for a single, piddly little thing in Sky, I can get a high-end, professional graphics program for elsewhere. I stopped paying for this Sky moloch a long time ago. In the beta version of Sky, for example, there is (or was) the event “Alice in Wonderland”. Did you know that the author of this world-famous story, Lewis Carroll, was a pedophile and that this story was created in this context? Lewis Carroll loved to photograph dozens of little girls in the nude. Even if he didn't touch them (which I highly doubt, because he also sought contact with these girls in private), this fact alone is clear abuse! You would expect TGC to inform themselves more thoroughly before starting any collaboration. I can hardly imagine that nobody at TGC knew about this background. You can't produce something that has to do with “Alice in Wonderland” WITHOUT giving a shit about this abuse. And it's not just the prices that are getting crazier and crazier or how the maps in Sky increases, instead of fixing bugs and create things, which players are longing for. There are umpteen other things that are not just questionable, but evil and “quite deliberate” brainwashing. And this is no longer a cute little game. This is about things far beyond that...
They aren't doing a good job of attracting new players either. Most new players straight up quit after doing their first Eden run cause technically, there isn't really any more content after that and the very grindy nature of Sky isn't that much appealing to everyone. Even amongst those who actually decide to stay, a decent chunk of players in that group suffer burnout from FOMO and end up leaving Sky.
Guys! I am planning to contact TGC to include adds in the game (only on own will). Like that you can watch an 10 seconds add to recive like 5 candels, wich can be done every day? I think free will adds are a good way to support an company you like without spending money (that you need for other things). So what do you say? May we try and change the skies above?
I haven't seen anyone else talk about this, but my candles grey out at 17, not 20. Just on top of all the stupid prices, both "free" and paid. The free is 3-4 hours of your life for, used to be 20, now 17 candles.
@@SideReverse I hardly ever gift hearts, and I hadn't done it for those 2 days that I was testing it. It might be fixed now. I haven't checked cause I'm so burnt out on the game.
My biggest issue is the fact that most of the items they sell (e.g. music hall guitar) are just reskinned items for outrageous prices. You cannot tell me that 80~ish candles for the red og guitar is the same as 24 actual dollars for a guitar that sounds the exact same except for a slight colour and emblem change.
the way you put it, sometimes these purchases cant even be justified when you think of the hours we actually work to purcahse some of these items! its crazy
All the time grinding each day makes the whole game feel boring for me now since whenever a event happens I can’t get myself to enjoy it because my brain has already associated the game as a task and now whenever I think of events its about the currency ext already being burnt out
I’ve already considered deleting it because I think it’s adding stress to my mornings doing 2 hour grinds but sadly I’ve already spent maybe 40 dollars and I doubt I could get my money back and I’m afraid of missing out on aura spirit that’s coming :’)
@@HHHHammer I feel you, I did spend the same amount too... But, if you think the game is a chore now, maybe you could considering just delete it. You should having fun playing game, not bc it's force & making you stress of missing out something 😥
I have spent so much money on this game. More than I care to admit... And I agree the prices are just too high. I like to have cosmetics but I have to get ready for a big change in my life soon. So I will no longer be able to just spend wherever I want. And that probably means I won't be able to afford anything I want on Sky at all. I miss the game I played 3 years or so ago. :(
I don’t think people talk about this enough so let me say it instead: the whole “arrow” system on the candles is so people buy more candles. You can’t afk farm anymore either. It’s to make more money which makes absolutely no sense because they were doing just fine before this whole system was introduced. I also remember when capes weren’t thirty fucking Australian dollars. As an Aussie I already have trouble buying food do they genuinely think we’re going to spend a total of (and yes I’ve roughly calculated this) $160 AUS on this year’s Halloween event.. cmon now 😭
F2p here anyway but yeah this is totally out of hand like these prices are ginormous the only thing i'd consider buying ever would be a seasonal pass if I was really in love with a season's esthetic.I feel like it's the only thing affordable in the game
They would def be making more money if the prices were affordable. I was high-key going to buy the crabuka Cape cuz that shit looked bomb but I immediately gave up on that idea when the price was revealed. So unfortunate because that cape is lovely, but there is no way in hell I'm paying that
Real. Charging $20 for something i could make as a beginner modeler (or just a low effort retexture) in a couple hours is beyond crazy, i'd say tgc is too far gone. People who say EA is the worst haven't heard of tgc.
no ur absolutely doggitly shackalatitly right. id rather buy robux than this oogly moogly. the game is already repetitive enough and they still want to raise prices?? good golly mother gracious! id rather buy 4 subway footlongs for my week-long food supply!
I started playing 2 weeks ago for the first time and I had a spare $25 iOS gift card, so I spent that on some cosmetics and candle packs. I had no idea that the game has “gone downhill”. Guess I started playing at the worst possible point in the games history 🤪🤪
preach. 2020 player here, i quit playing, tgc is nothing but money hungry now, the game doesnt know what it wants to be, the bugs are out of control (at least they have been when i was still playing) really who cares about the community ? they're making the bag, so why would they care?
and as someone who is in said community, the arguments are abysmal. so many ppl spouting toxic positivity about this game as if it doesnt make millions probably.
It is genuinely SO annoying that almost everything is an IAP 😭 LIKE BRO, the amount of money converted to my currency IS ENOUGH FOR ME TO BUY FANCY FOOD FROM A FANCY RESTAURANT 😨
💀 I'm so glad more sky youtubers are pointing this out, I've been playing for a year and on god TGC ARE YOU OKAY? HERE TAKE MY THERAPY CARD?!!! Btw for the iaps, i frequent a dev on disc who also makes 3D things and he said the things tgc makes isn't even worth it, he showed us how quickly he replicated those. Another thing is a youtuber posted a video 3 years ago about the prices, conditions ect of TGC and Sky but also that for "inspo" tgc would steal art concepts from artists, fanartists ect and not even credit them ect, that's all i remember for now!
The prices and bugs became enormous when they started receiving money from a lot of investors, including an ex-creative director of Pixar studio. Now they have to keep those investors happy. And the money that should be going to improving the game is instead used to keep it on different platforms.
Petition to make TGC reevaluate how they price their items because this is atrocious 🗣️🗣️
Signed.
Signed. ✍️✍️✍️
FINALLY someone’s doing this. I’ve been DEATHLY afraid to say anything without being punished for it because apparently TGC completely ignores the fact that OTHER COUNTRIES deal with inflation. 💀
TGC said that the prices for the broom and the raven cape is not correct in some countries. They will change that in the next update.
“Days of money” “season of debt” 😭👊
HAHAHA
👏👏👏👏
You know, 'Days of Mischief' is fitting. The devs are feeling mischievous with those ridiculous prices.
😭😭😭😭😭
@@princesstt9778 that’s a pretty good idea
And it's not just the prices, but also the fact that EVERYTHING is an IAP. There is barely anything you can buy with candles anymore, and if you can it's either something very small and/or useless or it costs insane amounts of candles/hearts. They've become so greedy
Yeah! Or even "better" - those stupid tickets that if you won't farm every day - be sure to miss out on something
me with over 1k and i barely spend it-
I know right!
BULLSHIT, if you miss 3-5 days you're done-zo
Who needs food for the week when you can get pretty wings
😂😂😂
Yeah
Why get chicken wings when I can get virtual wings 👍
LMAO AHAHAHA
food for the weak* 💀 not week, 7 days a week who???
ive genuinly gone almost 2 days without food to buy sky cosmetics. Im no longer as dumb
It's like- at first when I saw people complaining about the game's prices I was still looking at Sky with rose tinted glasses and was like "Y'all, you don't need to buy everything, TGC's not a perfect company and they're small!! You guys are getting obsessed with cosmetics >:("
But after like.. 4 years of playing, I've come to realize that TGC is, equally, obsessed with the cosmetics atp
They aren't bothering to fix bugs in their game, or account for the amount of traveling spirits that will come with every season and how it takes 2 years for a single one to come back, and how long it'll take for newer seasons to have their respective TS arrive.
Then it goes as follows:
Oh my gosh!
You nailed all my frustrations perfectly!
@@wintarsc3ne904yesss. Like tell me WHY I need to spend almost 100 seasonal candles for a small, simple BELL NECKLACE?!! Past season were sooo fun. This is why season of prophecy and back were the best. This game is slowly killing itself.
Hate to say it, but this is a problem with ALL LIVE SERVICE GAMES not just TGC
In my country, the raven cape and broom together cost enough to the point where I could literally waltz into a decently pricey restaurant or buy some clothes and stuff with it
Not to mention, as if that wasn't enough, both the new cape and outfit for Days of Music are going to be IAP too
Edit: waiting for TGC worshippers to call us "entitled" and "ungrateful", that "we don't need to buy cosmetics" and that "we can stop playing the game"
I recently came back to sky to see the seasons I missed and was really shocked by the IAP prices. most iaps I have where some that contributed to a cause and for charity, and now we see those same prices but for no external cause at all ?? just for greed ??? if they were more generous (and extended the story like you mentioned, that is a genius idea that the fanbase has waited a long time to know about) the game wouldn't be at an almost dying stage like today
that is just to say spit yo shit 🗣️🗣️
yh its been like that for years, so they're used to getting fucked over by tgc, its not a good thing like-
Also a nice alternative for people who enjoy meeting people is Webfishing, since it's like a video game chatroom ;-;
Also don't give me the BS that is "purchase IAPs to support the devs"
I mean sure if TGC was still a "small indie company"then maybe, but that's def not the case now ☠️
Edit: I've done a fair share of 3d modeling and rigging of models in games and mods and bro there's no way I'd ask $20 USD for that broom stick.
-Auzi
real i spent 20 pounds on some wings w my birthday money (that i cldv used to get new room decor) when i was literally 11yrs old 😭
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!
🗣facts. they even won a Guinness world record, what more could TGC possibly want? i don't want sky to go down like club penguin. but toby fox makes better games than TGC and i can afford to play them. unlike sky...its high time we start speaking up about their recent questionable business practices. it lowkey feels like financial child exploitation. (cause most players are literal minors) they may not listen to our valid concerns and call it complaining but its better to have at least tried than to just standby and do nothing as they take advantage of their youthful, naive player base. 💀💀
completely agreed!
but what about the Jenova 🥹 The Oreo 😢 The collab fees 😭😭😭, please somebody think of the hard working shareholders 😔😔😔
I think the stupidest thing by far is they want $20 to fly on a broom stick… in a game literally about flying everywhere
AHAHAAH IKR ???
It gives you longer flying powers in days of misschief area? But champ's torch does the same thing and only costed a lot of tickets.
ah yes 5 dollars for 15 candles... DEAL!
By this logic lots of outfits would cost hundreds of dollars. think about that.
It’s literally one day of candle waxing and it’s not even MAX worth. It would make more sense for it to be 20 candles.
5 dollar price should be for 50 candles instead of 15, smh.
Greedy would be their END. I propose not to pay anymore these bas#ards to show them it's not gonna work anymore with us.
It takes like an HOUR at least to get that amount of candles
I'm so glad that youtubers are starting to talk about this too because I am a kid and I those items are just REALLY PRETTY BUT THE PRICE??? I think that TGC should really stop making things so overpriced ;-;
P. S. Welcome back Emptea :3
How have you been? Glad to see that you got some motivation back :D
Sending tea and cookies >:3 🍵
Now that even the prices for in-game currency items are rising, I'm contemplating quitting as well
The snowboard from days of feast did go up from +40 candles to +170 candles for NO REASON AT ALL.
@sanaki_gamer2026 wait it did? I was looking forward to buying that one :(
@@sanaki_gamer2026 Oh, darn. ..Oh well, sliding is plenty fun without it (I was bad at getting candles, so I couldn't really get it last year)
Everytime I spend a penny on Sky i close my eyes and persuade myself that it isn’t a scam (it definitely is)
If you have to gaslight yourself everytime you spend money, there's definitely something wrong with the system
I love how non iap items are getting more expensive too!
Good lord they gave me every reason to be not active
the broom is like... 100 here 💀💀💀 it's ridiculous
Same. Like.. I don't even have the money to buy anything from this game. I'm literally free to play-
it isn't even fun to fly have you done the mission with it? jankass bs
Brazilian?
Sameeeeee
That game company?
more like That greedy company
Insanity.
Also welcome back we missed you 💜🌌
Exactly!! With $30 I could go to a thrift store and by myself at least 6 shirts (maybe even 12 if it’s one of those “color of the day is half price” places
they used to preach how they're not a greedy company. oh how the turn has tabled so bad
I ain't paying $20 for a crack broom when I can do that at home
LMAO
AHAHAHAHA
I’m honestly glad I stopped buying stuff from this game. The ridiculously high prices give me an aneurysm 💀
My jaw dropped to my ass when I saw the price for the raven cape bro it’s genuinely getting ridiculous from someone who’s been playing since 2021ish
I remember buying cosmetics in 2021, and now those prices look like bargains...60 dollars for two cosmetics is insane
We have to fight this
hell yeah brother speak your truth
@@princesstt9778I can take you to the concert if you want
@@princesstt9778I don't know why my previous reply was deleted, but I can take you to the concert if you want.
@@SkyfullofStardust Sorry I didn't see your reply sooner. I'd like that!
i’m so glad more and more people are speaking out about their frustrations, especially because there will always be a huge number of TCG glazers defending them with “oh but they’re just a small indie company!!!1!!” (they make millions of dollars every season). as someone who came back after four years of hiatus I’m genuinely appalled at how greedy they are now, I was never a fan of their prices to begin with but absolutely nothing should cost more than $5-10, maybe $15 for entire outfit sets (incomplete outfit sets are double that price currently…) the only thing being remotely worthwhile to buy is the season pass because it’s only $10 for several cosmetics. not only that but nowadays all the free items are genuinely garbage (a slip of paper for days of mischief??? are you serious????) while anything remotely decent is automatically made IAP.
(Grinding candles was always miserable)
People used to give feedback on the beta prices for the upcoming iap items and then one day TGC got tired of listening to their players that they just didn’t show the item prices in beta anymore.
Haven’t played sky in a little over a year, maybe two I dunno😓
nor have I been in the discord, so I can’t say if they changed things in beta.
I swear... These players just don't care about the lack of Regional Pricing 💀
It's probably the most toxic positivity I've ever came across ever since Genshin
Unfortunately tgc said back in 2021 in a blog post that regional pricing would equal regional servers so it means that you can’t play with ur European friend if you’re based in Asia. I don’t think regional pricing is an option here otherwise it would create a black market but they should defiantly do something😭
For real!!!
THE DAYS OF MOONLIGHT DRESS COST 300 THOUSAND BUT A SEASON PASS COST 200 THOUSAND?????
THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DAMN SENSE 😭😭😭
And thus, the legendary hero was summoned to speak the truth.
aside from the insane prices, one thing that made me stop playing sky as regularly is that the game is straight up unplayable at times. doors wont open, servers split all the time, spirits are always glitching, a few days ago i couldn't even send hearts due to lagging issues! they have a beta and funding so i just cant understand why they dont prioritize fixing these issues that have been here ever since launch :/ its one thing to let your userbase be creative and do oobs/glitches, but to have us RELY on those because the game itself refuses to work is atrocious. i dont even candle run the realms anymore because i know i'll have to rocket/chibi and use shared space chairs just to get 5 candles
In Indonesia the price can be 5 box chickens
0:16 “hey ponkers”
Whoa, emptea video! Ive stopped playing sky ever since they started slowly decreasing the spirits in seasons... So much has changed
I wish more ftp games would take a page out of Warframes book, because the devs at warframe *know* how to do in game purchases and still have a satisfied and happy playerbase.
welcome back!

Hey Emptea, just wanted to thank you for being my Sky inspiration when I was a moth all those years ago!!! :)
I've been playing for a long time, and I've learned that you can't buy friends or memories.
Ughh I can’t with the iap, the prices are crazy and the fact we barely get sh!t from the event itself is ABSOLUTELY insane to me! Like jeez!
the days of mischief and the current season of moomin have brought me nothing but pain and collector's anxiety.
It's actually atrocious how much I feel like a statistic to TGC, and it's so aggravating to see them fall from from grace as I've been a longtime fan because of games like Journey.
who needs to go in debt when you can not buy it one year, regret it, and see an item come back more expensive!
you know whats crazy? they TOOK a LIST of stuff i bought. i came back to the game and could not find days of earth cape, my little prince fox, my days of love items, witch jumper and hat, etc., etc.. and i messaged them about it and they havent responded so im beyond livid. they want to steal? fine. im gathering everything i can.
3:34 one brings shadow one brings the light
I'm Brazilian and I love the game, but the prices in Brazil are out of the ordinary for such a simple thing.
MDS OUTRO BR AQUI
n mas o preço é d fuder mermo 😭
This just unfair for other countries too. I live in the Philippines and most of the IAPs even just a simple accessory were like almost 500 to almost 1k pesos like wtf??? I could literally use that money to buy food for the whole week. The prices don’t even make sense anymore it’s so unfair 👹
as someone who's been playing since early season of sanctuary - shattering, these prices just feels, o f f to look at
living in a 3rd world country here that shan't be named, a small cosmetic worth 3usd could be the equivalent of one's entire daily work pay (I'm 21 & the horrors of jobposting keeps me up at night)
many friends from well developed countries, let's say USA, have NEVER made so many purchases to gift to their friends, oh deer did they gifted so many people oranges during days of fortune (more than a dozen people)
the pattern repeats & is shown among many more other friends of mine, they're all just happy being able to give something to the many people they care of
sometimes affordability encourages purchases not just for oneself, but given to others too
That 20 dollars, in my country currency rates, is my whole week of food budget
I.. i just NEEDED THAT RAVEN CLOAK AND NOW IM CRYING IT FEELS JUST LIKE HOW IT FELT WHEN TOM NOOK APPEARS AT MY DOOR AND DEMANDS MONEY
I waited your next video for so long ! Yay🎉
I really hope TGC is going to see your video 😢
I'm so glad that bigger Sky channels are coming out and talking about this! THANK YOU!!! 🫶🏻
i quit a long time ago because the grind for the candles is absolutely atrocious, I'm definitely not coming back after seeing this 💀
I haven't seen anyone else talk about this, but my candles grey out at 17, not 20. Just on top of all the stupid prices, both "free" and paid. The free is 3-4 hours of your life for, used to be 20, now 17 candles.
Are you sure you're not just gifting a heart to a friend? Those cost 3 candles.
You cannot tell me that 80~ish candles for the red og guitar is the same as 24 actual dollars for a guitar that sounds the exact same except for a slight colour and emblem change.
the way you put it, sometimes these purchases cant even be justified when you think of the hours we actually work to purcahse some of these items! its crazy
The raven cape is literally a nice restaurant visit worth of money for me, what the hell
Let's run a campaign to lower the rating of the game. It is necessary to😢 solve it. I feel like I am buying clothes in real life.
In my country, a dollar equals 8 of my coin. Now imagine that with how overpriced these prices alredy are.
LET'S GOOOO SPEAK THE TRUTH!!
Even my real clothes are cheaper than sky cosmetics 💀 ☠️ 💀
I have spent so much money on this game. More than I care to admit... And I agree the prices are just too high. I like to have cosmetics but I have to get ready for a big change in my life soon. So I will no longer be able to just spend wherever I want. And that probably means I won't be able to afford anything I want on Sky at all. I miss the game I played 3 years or so ago. :(
no literally, I've spent my fair share on seasons and cosmetics...with that being said, some of this stuff is truly ridiculous
"The value has going from satisfying their players to satisfying their bank account"
No shiet tho. Inflation really effected us huh?
I don’t think people talk about this enough so let me say it instead: the whole “arrow” system on the candles is so people buy more candles. You can’t afk farm anymore either. It’s to make more money which makes absolutely no sense because they were doing just fine before this whole system was introduced. I also remember when capes weren’t thirty fucking Australian dollars. As an Aussie I already have trouble buying food do they genuinely think we’re going to spend a total of (and yes I’ve roughly calculated this) $160 AUS on this year’s Halloween event.. cmon now 😭
2:18 - I guessed 50 candles... 💀
Some say they give some to charity but we cant deny these prices are absolutely atrocious 💀💀
Isn't that only during the Days of Color and Days of Nature events? A lot of it has to be pocketed.
no ur absolutely doggitly shackalatitly right. id rather buy robux than this oogly moogly. the game is already repetitive enough and they still want to raise prices?? good golly mother gracious! id rather buy 4 subway footlongs for my week-long food supply!
I started playing 2 weeks ago for the first time and I had a spare $25 iOS gift card, so I spent that on some cosmetics and candle packs. I had no idea that the game has “gone downhill”. Guess I started playing at the worst possible point in the games history 🤪🤪

i quit playing, tgc is nothing but money hungry now, the game doesnt know what it wants to be, the bugs are out of control (at least they have been when i was still playing)
really who cares about the community ? they're making the bag, so why would they care?
and as someone who is in said community, the arguments are abysmal. so many ppl spouting toxic positivity about this game as if it doesnt make millions probably.
It is genuinely SO annoying that almost everything is an IAP 😭

Woah this got recommended on my page, I haven't played this game for like 3 or 4 years
Just finished and damn :(
💀 I'm so glad more sky youtubers are pointing this out, I've been playing for a year and on god TGC ARE YOU OKAY? HERE TAKE MY THERAPY CARD?!!!
Btw for the iaps, i frequent a dev on disc who also makes 3D things and he said the things tgc makes isn't even worth it, he showed us how quickly he replicated those. Another thing is a youtuber posted a video 3 years ago about the prices, conditions ect of TGC and Sky but also that for "inspo" tgc would steal art concepts from artists, fanartists ect and not even credit them ect, that's all i remember for now!
Yes yes yes we need more content creators speaking up and using their voice!!
one tgc cosmetic is like 100+ here in vietnam LOL ( for contextr you can get 10 soda bottle with that)
The prices and bugs became enormous when they started receiving money from a lot of investors, including an ex-creative director of Pixar studio. Now they have to keep those investors happy. And the money that should be going to improving the game is instead used to keep it on different platforms.
