"To brush town" probably a dev joke, I've never come across that saying. Edit: After seeing rope alley I can confirm it is the name of an area. Devs sometimes name areas so they know what it is for.
6 months late, but... brush refers to what is typically used to make geometry in games, like buildings or streets. see the Hammer map editor for Source, where most blocky hallways, buildings, and interiors are "brushes" while things like lampposts and street signs would be "props" and forest ground or hilly terrain "displacements" the term "brush town" definitely comes from the fact that it's a bunch of blocky brushes made to test or display gameplay mechanics
I know it is a 8 moth too lte but it could be something to test some brushes to draw stuff like textures and/or terrain i.e. like it was in warcraft 3 editor
