Owned both 650GT and 850G over the years, typical Suzuki monsters, those motors were jam packed full of grunt and would both spin up with ease at even the slightest sniff of moisture on the tarmac. Often wish I’d kept the 850 now, shaft drive took a little getting used to but once mastered was a dream… 👍
Nice one mate I done a 1986 c reg ,found in barn ,Fintry scotland. Runs like a champ .can't wait to see yours back in action , not got many spares apart from original pistons rings, suzuki performance spares, 👏
hi bud i just noticed your clocks are on the opposite way around our rev counter is on the right hand side and yours doesn't seem to have the knob that turns the odo mileage back i am wondering if your clocks have been swapped around and the knob removed. the clocks can be opened up but they are not meant to be there are videos on youtube showing how to do this.
We are just doing the same with an identical bike manufactured in the same year, with the intent of restoring it to completely standard i don't suppose you could help us out by measuring the width of the tank striping could you please if thats the original pinstripe? Ours is having to be resprayed and the striping on it is not original and was applied badly by the previous owner so we have nothing to match it against. i am really looking forward to watching your journey good luck x
Age appropriate patina would be my choice, change what you need to but don’t go overboard with it… 👍

@@scottyd024 thanks for the message of encouragement. Think first thing is a lot of stripping and cleaning.

Thank you. I think the clocks are standard but will investigate.
Yes, rev counter is usually on the right, the speedo on the left, same side as the speedo drive, very unusual for it to cross over…
