Fact check of your historical knowledge! -Rajiv Gandhi Tenure - 1984-1989 -Kashmir Exodus - 1989 (PM was V.P. Singh Janta Dal and other parties supported by BJP ) - Ram Mandir movement - the famous Rath Yatra by L.K Advani (Sept to Oct 1990 to PM was V.P. @@vivekdas7589 Sir, pls get your facts right 1. Ram Mandir - Rajiv Gandhi Govt opened the locks and allowed Hindus to worship at the site. This was done to balance after the Shah Bano decision. Rath Yatra etc followed but the case was reopened during Rajiv Gandhi rule without any major reason. 2. Kashmir discontent was built post rigging of elections to ensure win for National Conference. Rajiv Govt was till Dec 1989 and discontent was already building and resulted in exodus in Jan 1990.Things didn't happen overnight.
First of all, I largely support Modi govt for most of their policies. But i still like this podcast and how calmly she answeres and gave opinions on 70,80,90s and current politics. Please do being Mr. Shashi Tharoor in coming episode
@@nirvanabliss73 they are? Are you honestly happy with the average quality of the 17 parliaments we had? It's not just Shashi, Indians in general are swayed by articulation and proficiency in the English language. He coasts on this like much of our elite. You could have answered with any of the umpteen private bills he introduced, but "educated people" don't want to read let alone assess them. That is exactly the point, he proposes niche idealistic laws and has a poor record across tenures in implementation and enforcement. This adds to the confusing mess in the Indian governance structure. So yes he is a bad politician.
While it is very true that Adani seems to be favored by Government, I think there is a bigger reason. All powerful nations use private houses as tools to gain control of things Governments cannot do directly. Adani has stolen multiple port projects from China which Indian Government was not able to. Many natural resource projects abroad that are not very environment friendly are taken by Adani instead of Government deals. I think there is a bigger reason Government has partnered with Adani to push nationalistic projects without the risk of Indian Government falling in the mess. Also Ma'am seems really opinionated. I for a 30yr old middle class person rising from lower middle class am very clear that the left parties are anti national and will create any narrative possible to make sure they have the throne. It is very much true that minorities are feeling more threatened but his threat is a creation of their own mindset and brainless guidance from left parties and their religious teachings of hatred and Jih*d
If there is a new govt. tomorrow ... all major powerful people will get the same treatment as they were getting since Independence. Nothing new to get upset.
Ranveer, Interesting discussion with Mrs Coomi Kapoor but I have some differences of opinion : 1. NDTV was sold by its owners and there was no pressure on them as felt by Mrs Kapoor and if that was the case they could approach the court. 2. Bofors scandal took place during Rajiv Gandhi's tenure and kickbacks were paid and the late former CBI director Mr Joginder Singh confirmed it in a T. V. Interview. Indian Express exposed the corruption which resulted in raids on its offices. 3. Mr Rajiv Gandhi was much more intelligent compared to Rahul Gandhi. 4. There are many ways through which Industries can support the opposition parties, therefore, that is not the reason for the demonetisation of currency. 5. Congress party made a compromise with corruption during the tenure of Mr Manmohan Singh only to remain in power. Mrs Sonia Gandhi was running the government and Mr Manmohan Singh was her puppet. No self-respecting honest person can accept this, therefore, Mr Manmohan Singh is more responsible because he had the option to resign or leave the party. 6. Yes, it is true that if Rahul Gandhi becomes the opposition candidate to lead them then no one is going to vote for them. 7. Congress always played the card of casteism but no one accused them, many journalists are accusing BJP now despite knowing the reality. 8. Taking about Hindu rastra is not authoritarianism, therefore, it is misleading. Lastly, some journalists were on the payroll of the Congress party and as the Congress is out of power many of them are making baseless allegations.
Wow, you have spelled it out well. I agree totally with you. There was no talk of development and more emphasis on Modi being authoritarian 😮. According to Rajiv Malhotra every team to succeed needs a strong captain. That is not being authoritarian, but being competent. She had nothing to say on that , shameful.
😂just spit the fact that u were pissed of Jai Shankar, J sai deepak on show... And finding this liberal leftist out of no where u got a hold to speak bad about his past guest
Very Well Begun - wonderful starting lines on how journalists thrive on weak governments. They essentially thrive on countries with weak leaders. So be careful on whom you elect.
Yes, I clearly see why she's not in favor of Modiji. She is a political animal from Delhi - a journalist who wants to enjoy the luxury of writing any crap in the press, even if it's at the expense of the country's wellbeing since it would then be run by a weak government.
Its very clear that she is a left leaning journalist which is totally fine but I dint understand why she was so restrained in clearly expressing her thoughts. I, as a right winger and many others like me, would love to listen to logical arguments from the other side. Whichever ideology we believe in, we should be able to hold free wheeling logical discussions.
At this point left winged individuals only believe in abusing and throwing slurs at majority and babysitting the majority. They aren't the liberals they claim to be. A liberal is a person who listens both sides. The cheap appeasement politics, freebies, supporting a certain group that wants sharia ( waqf board, muslim league ) etc drove me away from any desire to vote for congress. Yes I was considering voting congress. But they were the ones who drove me away. Bjp is doing what it's saying. It was brought india in mainstream media, raised the GDP, has maintained amazing diplomacy internationally. India even managed to make strong allies like israel and Russia. Which the previous government was afraid to do so as to not offend white supremacists. But this government is fearless and self reliant. Why'd I not vote for bjp? Congress is shit.
I am guessing here, but I think it might be because of her old school mind set of major media houses, where you can't say anything opposing the viewpoint of you company or leading party so she might have thought that she can't openly criticize the government on a podcast either

A slightly different way to look at it Maam. PM Modi doesn't force people to work like he wants. Coomi was giving politically correct answers. One thing is clear Majority community will have the extra burden to be taking care of minority. But minority also to be responsible to be constructive
She seems very much opinionated. But I loved the conversation, just so many different aspects than your earlier cabinet people podcasts. It’s actually brilliant idea to bring on journalists and minister in sequence of their respective tangents.

Ranveer's only podcast so far where the guest is only venting out her views and frustration on current govt based on her extremely biased opinions. She's throughout telling that her answers are not based on any data or research. All other guests on this podcast are generally so well deep and researched. Its hilarious that she's not happy that govt contracts are not being given to previous govt's favorites 😅
Well said. She’s one of the remnants of the Nehruvian Socialist SICKularists who was thriving for five decades on the back of weak, corrupt, and compromising governments. And now with the triumphant Modiji government in power perhaps for at least another decades, this veteran journalist is in tears‼️
Exactly she is just saying her opinion without any facts or logic. The dumbest thing she said is govt banned 2000 notes so that funding for opposition can be stopped. Seriously? If that was the case than why did they even bother bringing in 2000 notes in first place and where were the 2000 notes during 2019 election?
Shashi Tharoor = Apologist for Hindu genocide by Islamic invaders!! Nitin Gadkari = Great Infrastructure Genius who hasn't got mass people support as in winning elections!! Raghu ram Rajan : Western plant to wreck Indian financial & economic system!!
For me 2000 rs. Note is eased out is because to clean up the 2000 rs. Note from the market. She has really great point about that, but according to me i think 2000 rs note first introduced so that in less printing work we can distribute lots of money to the people at that time , as all they had already were collected by the govt. And gradually they stop printing that , as required amount of money reached to common people. And when its use is totally erased from the market they decided to take back the 2000 rs. Note. Final aim for them is to remove big notes from the market. And other target of their was what she said.
Yeah but RBI is not having the track of 500 Rs currency of around 1.8 L Cr printed at Nashik printing press which was to be circulated across the banks after removing 2000 Rs notes from the market . Any thoughts where it could be?
Bring more guests who have seen politics at ground level, who understand Politics, elections etc etc then only you could have a perspective of how such a big country runs
Wah Ranveer, your interviews become better and better. Today the interviewer was much more mature than the Senior journalist. Gyani log bolte hain ki kuch log Baal dhoop main hi safed kar lete hain. It was proven today. Indian Podcasters have grown much better than the crony media of yesterday years. Many people think that parameter of intelligence is a good command over english, well that is not so. A journalist with a spine, grit and gumption will not be afraid to say harsh things clearly and not try to white wash. During UPA2 a general feeling among sane NRIs was that if Congress and Manmohan comes back to power then we won't have a country called India to come back to as the UPA was trying to sell off every thing for a bribe. Is that what we call decency. Ranveer, you are good but some time in future, I hope that you will learn to ask more penetrating and difficult questions. Indian media is full of Ellsworth Toohey(s) and only the Social media podcasters can bring them down.

@@atharvasurve6530 Though whatever you have written has NOTHING to SUPPORT your premise that past Government has treated Hindu as. Commodity but still I will respond to the other things that you have said. But whenever you reply to someone, reply to the thing that is asked. Anyway: 1. About studying about rulers of ancient and medieval history , I don't know where you studied and which text books you have followed but I don't think kids are not taught about Shivaji or Cholas or Pandyas. Secondly the concept of protecting the motherland. Every king of its time protected it's territories and attacked other territories for annexation of resources that were most valuable for those times may it be land or forests etc etc. From your statement I can easily decipher you are not a student of history so I won't get into the long indepth of debates a sto how you facts are triangulated , how an inference is drawn and how history is recorded. So I won't comment on that. 2. About Mughals, if you want to think that you can know everything in history by reading upto 10th or 12th standard history then that is a fallacy on your part. Moreover I know the reason behind you bringing up Mughals, even if you go by the basic school level text books one will find that Aurangzeb has been called a Bigot and Akbar has been praised for his contribution to Indian society. The school text book history is a summary outline of the major incidents that have happened in last 1500-1600 years. Just like in 10th class physics or maths you didn't know calculus or usage of calculus in Physics etc etc. So don't get into the History discussion. This comment box is not enough for me to explain history to you but I will humbly suggest STOP LIVING IN HISTORY. it's long long gone! 3. About Ram mandir. Sir I don't know how old are you but until the Advani's yatra or even until 2014 I don't think you also had any worry about the fact that when Ram Mandir will be built and where. And any place of worship when takes a communal turn putting two communities at logger heads for an incident that happened 500-600 years back, that has to be dealt with in a very very cautious manner. I hope that one Ram mandir did change your life substantially. 4. About PFI, to ban any organisation you need to establish the causal linkage between his activities with terrorist organisations. Even the government in power did it after being in power for 9 years and yes the Ban is NOT PERMANENT. Whether it remains that way or not that we will eventually know.
She is unbiased? Lol. She is as unbiased as Arnab. Accept their biases and then consume the content with a pinch of salt. No need to call them unbiased when they aren't. They themselves admit it and there's nothing wrong with it. Have a thick skin. Don't go for cosmetics alone.
This was quite an interesting podcast. I got the feeling she has her own political inclinations and unfortunately, even though she is a journalist, she let her biases take the centre stage. I get the feeling Ranveer could have dived deeper into a few of the topics. For example, when she claimed that the current government uses religion to win elections. Ranveer should have asked her to share instances. A good counter question would have been is it only the current government that uses religion as a tool. I hope you can get her back on the show as her experience is something we can gain a lot of insight from. I hope we can ask her about the 84 riots, Kashmir genocide, Bengal killings, Manipur turmoil etc as well.
@@rakshitsingh5281 Smita Prakash accepts she has biases. Journalists, like every other humans will have some bias. But, what I liked about Smita Prakash is that she used data and not "feelings" to make her point!

Oh please, Graham Hancock does not do serious research. He operates in the areas archeologists have a bias against and it takes only two or more predictions to appear like a genius. For example, even honest doctors are biased against non-intervention. A doctor will always ask you to take medicines if you come with a complaint or condition. All it takes for me is to say, don't take medicines, your cough/pain will be resolved in two days. If I am right more than one time you will start taking me seriously. Archeologists are in a similar situation, their profession does not allow them to agree to traditional and oral histories, more so from non European sources(they even had bias against Middle eastern Christians until they were proven right). Most of our Archaeologists need to mimic them or follow their standards to have a global career. Graham Hancock does not have the accountability and gets to say anything he currently thinks.

If she has been journalist she should speak what she wants ...Dr Anand Rangnathan spoke with names ...so there is no such rule ...she knew what she is saying completely cannot be supported with facts and hence she didn't gave names

2. Kashmir discontent was built post rigging of elections to ensure win for National Conference. Rajiv Govt was till Dec 1989 and discontent was already building and resulted in exodus in Jan 1990.Things didn't happen overnight.

Adani has stolen multiple port projects from China which
Indian Government was not able to.
Similar to how in the US blacks will complain about racism non stop because their Democratic masters and liberal journalists will recite it non stop.
Very well said.
Totally agree with you bro...
Happy to see someone who understands this.
If there is a new govt. tomorrow ... all major powerful people will get the same treatment as they were getting since Independence. Nothing new to get upset.
She underestimates Rahul Gandhi. He's changed and can understand the masses much better. He's a worthy opponent of modi.
Fantastic Ranveer... that is how you get the truth and the "i don not know but still I will speak because I am being asked"...
Ranveer,
Interesting discussion with Mrs Coomi Kapoor but I have some differences of opinion :
👍👍👍
Totally agree with you on these points 👍

Very Well Begun - wonderful starting lines on how journalists thrive on weak governments. They essentially thrive on countries with weak leaders. So be careful on whom you elect.
Conversely with a strong government these predatory journalists are out of jobs!
Hmm. Interesting observation. No wonder she is so much against the government.
The only thing about the podcast that is true is about weak governments!
Yes, I clearly see why she's not in favor of Modiji. She is a political animal from Delhi - a journalist who wants to enjoy the luxury of writing any crap in the press, even if it's at the expense of the country's wellbeing since it would then be run by a weak government.
@@SmartAnlayst vultures who operate under the guise of journalism!

Though whatever you have written has NOTHING to SUPPORT your premise that past Government has treated Hindu as. Commodity but still I will respond to the other things that you have said. But whenever you reply to someone, reply to the thing that is asked. Anyway:
It was really good..Keep it up..unbiased..bring more unbiased people

This was an excellent podcast. I felt it was well balanced. Her views of Emergency strongly resonates with my personal experience.
It's always Sanathanas VijayHo NayaNamoBharath YughMahaVushwaGuru VijayHo🙏🙏🙏Nation is aware of each & every politician & their supporters,God bless our Nation with our PM our Rakshak jaihind🙏
Rightly said democracy has the ultimate power.
With due respect I don’t agree, if Modi speaks and no one is allowed to talk how he is having soooo many meetings with world leaders, having million meetings with the experts in every field. INDIRA GANDHI and MODI… there is no comparison… She was a dictator.. if Modi is like that, why he is not censoring anything in West Bengal, or other opposing party states.
modi same as indira is also an dictatorial pm but the difference is there was a declared emergency now there is undeclared emergency. You can see how cbi,ed income tax are somehow controlled by modi only raiding on opposition parties
It seems that the guest was hesitant to disclose names. This raises questions about whether there will be censorship in the guest's book or if there will be selectively include certain information to please a specific group of people. Nevertheless, she rightly said, 'History repeats itself, first time tragedy, next time as farce' .
If she has been journalist she should speak what she wants ...Dr Anand Rangnathan spoke with names ...so there is no such rule ...she knew what she is saying completely cannot be supported with facts and hence she didn't gave names
She is an Islamo-leftist fraud like much of the Indian colonial media like India Today, Indian express, Wire, Hindustan Times... !!
