@tony They will start taxing when everyone who lives in CA moves to NV and votes in the same types of people (radical leftists) into office that they intend on leaving behind. Its sad really....
Well if more people move, more taxes are being collected in other areas that are taxed. That being if the majority moving there have above living wages.
new developments have tons of subsidies and cost very little for the city. but in 10 or 15 years the city will need to repair everything and find out they have not been collecting taxes.

@@rosethorns1893 Partly true and partly not. Prices are but one way to ration things that are of limited supply (ie. water front homes). But they are not the only force at work. There's also tax policy, zoning rules, laws and regulations. San Francisco has horrible regulations, that basically require you to build low income housing as part of your new development AND very high hurdles to get approved to build anything; won't allow high rises, etc. The end result is that the only way to build a new building that is profitable is to build super luxury units. BUT then you have the issue with low income units (and the politics around gentrification). Prices for beach front will always be more than desert. @@edwinalvarez1619 Gentification comes in multiple forms. If more people start moving to LV then prices will go up. However they will not necessarily increase to CA level. BUT what's really driving the costs up in CA (to astronomical prices) are the regulations, taxes, zoning, permits, etc.
Sounds like gentrification to me, California price increase is coming to Las Vegas and other affordable cities.
@@edwinalvarez1619 Gentification comes in multiple forms. If more people start moving to LV then prices will go up. However they will not necessarily increase to CA level. True but will the cost of living eventually price out locals given their income? It need not go to CA levels but it can go high enough to price someone who makes $30k-$45k I've seen it here in NYC. Don't turn Nevada or Texas into the next California.
@Anne Day He is 100% correct. Politics in CA are to blame for the way it is and the citizens keep voting for more. They then have to leave because of the oppression they voted for becomes too much, they move to a better state and continue voting for the same garbage that ruined CA. How about staying in your state and vote opposite of what you voted for and try to fix CA instead of ruining everywhere else.
Next time he moves, he's coming to Texas. I feel it in my bones.
Does Texas have homeless problems as well? Just wondering because I went from CA to KY and I feel the steady weather sends them to CA.(easier to sleep outside)

they just have a thing you're lacking, called humanity.
@@kimberlyl3727 Democratic policies are inhumane. Making people poor and suffer is not very nice. The homelessness problem, gang violence, and drug use. Are all due to the local state governments' policies and lack of leadership and morals.
@@mikethewise2000 What keeps people poor and suffering is favoring big business and doing things like blocking stimulus checks. Graham, you don't have to lie. There's nothing wrong with hating to pay taxes. Everyone hates when they get robbed.
When you just compare State by State by the numbers, of course no one will understand why NY and CA have the highest concentration of population in US. I’m actually moving from Houston to New Jersey next week. The prime reason is family and friends. I moved down from East Coast 8 years ago for better job, but I miss my family and friends too much. Sure I get to save more money in Houston compared to NJ, but the extra money was not worth the missed precious times I get to spend with my family. I would like to recommend you guys thinking of moving to not just look at financial reasons. There are so much more factors that are priceless when determining where you want to live. Know that you can make less, and be happier, and vice versa. Be where it makes you happy, not where you make more money
Very true 👌🏽
Love that 👍🏽
I moved to Jersey from Delaware and don't like it because of the cost of everything, the traffic, the rude people, odd gun laws, and you have to have a license to have a pet here...like what? The things you do for relationships 🤦♂️
Exactly, people are moving to California too. In Washington state much ado is made about incoming Californication, but the number of people moving to California each year cancels it out. California has a quarter of the US population, so even a small percent leaving seems like a lot of people.
I regret not living closer to family You don't get that time back.
I want to watch the July-Why-Is-It-130-Degrees vlog 😂
Chamath for governor!!! California has a lot of progress to make.
I’ll vote for him!
@Behizy isn't Chamatg the same guy who made money from social media and venture capital funds and now bad mouthing both on how rigged they are?
We left California 10 years ago for a lot of the same reasons. Every so often we go back for a week to visit family and when we leave it just confirms we made the right decision.
better not still be voting for what made you leave California
It's a bit more complicated than just "dEmOnRaTs bAaaddd". California has plenty of problems, but the profits they bring into the nation carry other, less prosperous states.
@@aloevera3317 "It's a bit more complicated than that". Yes, yes its. However that stereotype does comes from somewhere. I do need to ask, are those "profits" really worth it? Can a state be profitable AND not be the shithole everyone hates?
vote red
@@aloevera3317 I'm sorry, it's not more complicated than that. Half of Graham's video was dedicated to ridiculous zoning laws, taxes, and regulations which caused California to become unlivable in. All three of these things are 100% controlled by the government. Don't act like the California government isn't the reason that state is going to hell. Just take a look at Texas. Texas is booming in EVERYTHING - tech, ag, energy, etc. and it still remains the most livable state in the nation. Oh wait, did I mention Texas is DEEP RED? Literally has one of the most extreme right wing governors in office right now with a republican state senate, and EVERYONE is moving there.
So yes, it is that simple. Democrats and progressive politics/culture have destroyed California. The only reason Oregon, Washington, and other blue states are surviving is because there remains a strong republican presence culturally and in office to balance out the left's insanity in those states. The day your state has little to no republican representation to balance out democrat insanity, you can kiss your state's ass goodbye.
Nevada is already a blue state bud. Californians aren't gonna ruin anything.
Please don’t leave Cali and bring those terrible politics that ruined Cali in the first place.
Shut up
Hey Graham :) I know it can be awkward to talk about all of your "good deeds" that you're able to do with money, but since you brought up projects and causes that you look forward to supporting, I would be really interested to see a video about your philanthropic views and how you approach it, and the effects you've been able to see from it or look forward to seeing.
