First time I noticed another pianist using his left foot on the sustain pedal, and keeping time tapping with his right foot. Jimmy Lee Swaggart and Jerry Lee Lewis do this and probably Mickey Gilley. Any others that stand out? Thanks in advance!!
My earliest memories were those of my mother my aunt and uncle and grandmother all cooking in the kitchen, playing the very best of Sinatra during Thanksgiving and Christmas. And I associate the best Italian food a young boy could have with his signature voice. They were wonderful times! I'm the only one left but now I cook and listen to Sinatra and my daughters hear it like I did and I hope they can make that association as well, Even though I destroy my grandmother's meat sauce recipe😂.
I love how very often in his performances he changes the lyrics of the song a tiny bit. :') Makes every time seem more unique and special. What a legend.
Charles Barry I've got to put in a shout here for Ella.as the best of the best, the absolute greatest. However, Frank is no doubt the greatest male singer, and the Basie band in form can be absolutely great.
This was recorded a year before I was born but sounds as good today. My parents always played Frank Sinatra in our house growing up! It is so familiar like a family member. Love
Fill my heart with songs And let me sing forever more You're all that I long for, all I worship and adore In other words: please be true. In other words: I love you. Pure poetry. ❤️
he's a god! i remember doing my homework on the dinner table and him singing... papa loved him so and i could pit hiim against the singers of today and he would win anytime!
The great Sonny Payne. Allegedly Frank's favourite drummer. There are plenty of live Sinatra performances of this song with different outfits available here, but with Sonny it's transformed. The live "Sinatra At The Sands" album is all here, and it's as much a tribute to Sonny Payne as it is to FS.
There will NEVER be anything like Vegas, The Rat Pack, The Chairman of the Board... women dressed in heels and were couffed, men wore suits & ties... impeccably classic top shelf time.
thanks for posting, i think this is the most COOLEST live verson i have watch,. when i pass, all my song played will be love song to my wife. we have been togather since 16 and 17. from 1976. this vid will be shown. thanks again. best wishes
big mood, modern music is great, has effort as much as music from this era. and fun fact is, frank sinatra himself also learned and adapted to new technology, and even grew to respect modern music of the times, such as the beatles. boomers should know that.
@@franksonatra im not a boomer but some of the music past 2015 was horrible. I noticed a trend of over robotic voice, tin drums. Don't get me wrong, i like modern music prior to this trend. Of coarse im talking about radio music. You could still find good modern songs, but non over fabricated music is sadly considered dead to me. Even modern metal and rock is bad, infact its worse than pop. Rock and metal is pretty much dead
Frank Sinatra and Count Basie is what I listen to when I'm depressed. I love it so much and I one day might be on broadway 🎭. That's what this song makes me wanna do. Or become a physicist. 🎷🎺🎻🎸🥁🎤🎹
This was on a way a comeback year for him, with his 3 month long show in Vegas at Sands - and at The Faountainbleu in Miami -with Count Basie and Quincy Jones as the arranger ...
Still here partner. real music with Frank Sinatra and Count Basie. Good Jazz musicians are here today, but don't have that Big Band Sound like the WWII generation had. When Frank is facing the audience look over his left shoulder at the drummer. That dude is loving this song lol.
These kinds of people are stamped out 1 in a hundred million. Think! The greatest of any sport and so on. Think! My own theory. Example: there will never be another George Forman , never joe Montana Audie Murphy and list just goes on and on. Burt Lancaster had a presence about him. Montgomery Clift had looks Like no other. Quincy directing, Frank singing, Bassie jamming. One hell of a great performance

He was checked a few times about that. I think it's quite clever how he does that.
So do I :) he catches us out when we think we know what words are coming
It’s so he didn’t get sued . Copyrights publishing etc
Its called "Having fun with it"
My Mother loved Frank. Mom is almost 100. She used to talk about him when I was a child. 😊😊
This guy was a freaking Master
For sure!
in other words you the greatest singers of all time

Frank was a Smooth,Classy, Soulful Gentleman who’s music fits in any era 😎
If you are here in 2021....congratulate yourself because you have AMAZING taste in music.
Amazes me how damn well he sounded live.
Class Act my Dad loved his talent. Used to sing his songs at home to my Mom. ❤❤

The piano intro sounds perfect
Dominus Satthanas thought the same thing
A timeless song and He is an iconic figure in the industry. I wish I could go back in time and meet him.
The essence of cool.
Frank singing in 1965...Life at it's Best!!!
There are many variants of Fly me to the moon and many people prefer others. But I always love Sinatra and Basie’s swinging session.
Amazing song 55 years ago and playing it as never listened

I never get tired of listening to Mr. S.
Great drummer!
basie's foot is a whole mood.
my favorite version of this song
A great recording by the Chairman. Julie Andrews and Gene Kelly did a terrific cover of this song on J.A.'s 1965 variety special for NBC.
Dion, and Frank Sinatra have some of the best voices in history.
Dion Di Mucci of Dion and The Belmonts ?? 'Yes, he was a great early Rock'N' Roller.....
Crypto Moon Michael Jackson? 😂😂 yeah no.
Throw Count Basie in with Frank Sinatra and this happens. It's pure gold right out of the box.
