Throws not being guarenteed as a punish except for rolls is a great mechanic that forces players to truly punish...with a combo. Great little mechanic.
I more often than not have missed punishments because of holding forward and pressing hp or hk. even top players have problems with this every now and then I'm glad you addressed a posibility on h9w to deal with this.
Lol i know its been a LONG time since the game came out, but i have only played the game for about a year, and I never understood why sometimes command grabs would whiff when i was crouching. Now I know. Thanks, and I kinda miss the juicy bits/character basics videos.
Yes, you can tech a normal throw if you quickrise. The only difference is you do not get the extra throw invincibility you'd normally get from knockdowns.
I've been trying to get that to happen but I've been unsuccessful. Is there a video of it happening? What exactly happens? I figure in a mirror both characters press HP on the same frame and they'll simply trade.

Thanks for the video. I didn't know about Alternate Guard. Going to have to practice that one.

so basically you would treat throws in a greater tick throw manner? same as sf4 throws but with a longer frame gap after your wakeup/being hit?
Can you tech throws if you quickrise?
Please do Duo Lon or Benimaru next!
very good
keep it going
