This song isn’t about killing yourself. Dave said he wrote it about his grandmother after she passed away and he’d had a dream about her still being alive. Kinda hits me every time!💪🏻🤘🏻
An alternative translation is "to all the world, to all my friends, i love you, but now i must go" it doesn't translate perfectly in every language

The translation you gave is not wrong.
Little story about french, "a tout le monde" is to everybody. When said in that context, le monde can be translated to "the world" but also to "everybody present" for example in french when addressing a crowd you would say "a tout le monde present" translating to "to everybody in attendance" it is a popular thing said in churches. The father when starting a sermon will say "a tout le monde present" or also a funeral.

On Feb. '93 Megadeth played a show in Eugene, Oregon. During that concert Mustaine was a disaster, at the time he was still struggling with addiction and alcoholism. And to make matters worse, the barricades at the front of the stage suddenly broke and the fans rushed the stage and started a riot. Mustaine and the rest of the band left the venue but shortly after, Mustaine collapsed from the alcohol and drugs in his body.He was rushed to a hospital, but upon arriving at the emergency room Mustaine died. Dave WAS resuscitated at the hospital. After that, he was sent to a rehab center to get over his addiction. That's how he got the inspiration to write this amazing song. Dave wanted people to know he loved them in case he didn’t have a chance to say it before he dies.

Metallica and Megadeth are the very best in my opinion in Heavy Metal/ Thrash Metal.. having said that Megadeth is far more technical, skilled and musicianship on an other level than Metallica or any other thrash band for that matter. This is no disrespect to any of the other bands they are phenomenal and make amazing music, but Megadeth has always found again in my opinion, THE best musicians available and made suc incredible music. I’m a fan of all music and genres, and I do acknowledge musical skill and technics, and in Metal/ Thrash, Megadeth is the Mount Rushmore. From their early lineup with Mustaine, Poland, Gar, and Ellefson, all the way to current with Mustaine, Kiko, Dirk, and Ellefson and all in between, I’m just amazed how Mustaine has consistently found top- notch musicians throughout Megadeths career. I strongly suggest these Megadeth songs for a reaction, if you want melodic songs like this one try

Dave was in Metallica before Kill Em All, Metallica's first cd, came out but got kicked out for alcohol--he was an angry drunk as the story goes. Dave then forms Megadeth. Both bands sounds from the early days of thrash metal kind of pioneered the genre and they both arguably took it over. Metallica has diversified its style over the years while Megadeth kind of kept the same style so to speak. But both are two of the cornerstones of what is considered The Big 4 of Thrash: Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer. Personally, I like enough Megadeth songs but I've never totally gotten into them even if I respect them. I prefer Metallica. I like some Anthrax but I can't say I know their catalog front to back. Slayer, while having a hand full of songs I like just never jived with me purely on my man's vocals.

Dave Mustaine the lead singer and guitarist for Megadeth started Metallica with the rest of them was an angry drunk so they cut him before they made the first album he wrote most of the songs or co-wrote for the first two albums of Metallica Metallica even stole his song The Four Horsemen which was originally called mechanics played by Metallica only way faster before his departure the original version is on killing is my business and business is good for Megadeth
He got credit for those songs. And I'm sure he has enjoyed the residuals.
I only hope the guy in charge of the video found another line of work....to film people jumping into graves instead of the mastery of the guitar solo (for instance...watching the picking)...

I love Megadeth but Daves voice sucks. Hetfield sings better and plays a better rhythm guitar to me. That's why I like MetallicA better. Neither band has been awesome since the early 90s tho. Lol
