- Huge shoutout to Turbosmart for partnering with us on the '23 Raptor Build!! Last week we installed their wild Vee Port EM BOV for Ford 3.5L & 2.7L Ecoboost F-150/Raptor, and it's a VERY well-engineered part with a seamless install process and build quality superior to anything else on the market for this platform.
It's physically much sturdier and smaller than the OEM valve, all CNC machined billet as opposed to the OEM's plastic construction, and it can handle a ton of extra boost pressure - which it releases it to the atmosphere, making some ~ ohh so sweet ~ noises when you let off the skinny pedal... we love it! Learn more about or buy Turbosmart's Ford BOVs through the links below:

The entire install process took Matt a little under an hour and was not too difficult. This is a very plug-and-play upgrade that significantly boosts driving enjoyment and legitimate performance capabilities. We can't wait to get this truck tuned up and dialed once we're done with performance modifications. Between Turbosmart's Blow Off Valve, the COBB Tuning Air Intake, Scoop and Intercooler and the goodies we have coming, this truck is quickly becoming a fun-having beast!
Please let us know what you'd like to see in future episodes in the comments below. New Building BuiltRight episodes go live every Monday around 5pm EST! Tune in weekly to see product development, warehouse shenanigans and MUCH more. Thanks for watching!

I'm really enjoying watching your raptor build series. I recently picked up a '23 raptor as well and you've installed a few things that I am interested in buying so these videos will be a great reference resource when the time comes. Keep up the great videos!
Thank you for watching! We love the Raptor platform and wouldn't install anything on ours that we wouldn't recommend to you. There will be more build content coming soon too, we appreciate the kind words!
You should consider spd downpipes
Thinking of doing the same to mine eventually
We highly recommend it!
If you’re gonna turbo you better vent to ATM! Great choice
What is the difference in sound between them. What are pros and cons between them?
The Turbosmart BOV releases extra boost pressure to the atmosphere, making that 'sneeze' or whooshing sound when letting off the gas. We prefer this part over Ford's OEM Valve which is significantly made of plastic and diverts the pressure back into the truck's system. The Turbosmart unit can handle a lot more boost pressure and abuse thanks to its build quality, and it sounds cool!
Any problem with water crossing with the vent to ATM? does any water gets in?
We haven't heard any horror stories about this yet, FRF has a thread on it and folks seem fine - but we'll see! www.fordraptorforum.com/threads/vent-to-atmosphere-stock-bov.64237/
Now it just needs a v8 to sound good. Thats it lol just a v8
That looks like a really bad idea for wet, salty, or sandy areas. I can see the piston getting gummed up really easily.
Folks use and abuse these valves in rough conditions all the time, they hold up great! We'll be sure to post an update if we run into any issues
Just remove the hose off of the stock BOV if you like the sound. This does nothing for performance.
PSA: Don't do what @dennisgoedhartrealestategr9444 is suggesting 🤦♂️
ok remove the hose and plug the intake side for a few bucks. :) The Ford BOV is fine and the SVC intercooler relocates it to keep it safe. Why would I want this when I can put the money somewhere that matters.? Maybe I am missing something. I have been doing this since my Turbo Eclipse in the 90s. No HP gains, just sound. @@BuiltRightInd
@@dennisgoedhartrealestategr9444 I abandoned that sort of logic when decided to daily drive a Raptor instead of a prius but I'm just here to share my experience - I don't care at all what you decide to buy or not buy as long as it works for you, especially when it's something we don't even sell!
How much boost were you running in that DSM that the factory BPV never caused problems?
