We got an EVP one time in a graveyard, I was there(female), my friend was there(male) and we got a recording of an woman's voice saying "Help me" I know I didn't say it and my friend of course was a guy. I have since been back to this grave with my friend and husband, I asked her to drop the temp around us and she dropped it by 6 degrees. I also felt a spirit that didn't want to move on and I told him to and my friend said the EVP after I said "Would you please move on" it said "I don't want to." but a person must know what they are doing before playing with fire, these can not be taken lightly, some are ghost, some are demons. that is why I do not open my doorway as far as it could go. Plus I am Christian and it is not looked on very well, but it is what it is and in my nature.

what should've creeped you out and sent warning signs out the butt is that that blood stain is still a bit red, meaning it's somewhat fresh. And while a monster is terrifying, a crazy drug addict who is spooked is not that much more frightening.
You got serious guts roaming around places like this at night. Utmost respect. Not only that, but great commentary and fantastic artistic photography that manages to bring respect to these sadly neglected places.
I like the way you don't try to "hype up" the drama by, for example, calling out to people all the time for dramatic effect. You always let the experience speak for itself and you keep it very real. This has the effect of everything feeling very genuine and this gives an immediacy and accessibility to what becomes a shared experience. It's not just that you don't make silly mistakes, of course, it's also that you remain vulnerable and you have the character to let us know how you really respond to the environment even if it means letting us in on your fear and self-doubt. You're the kind of story teller that we gladly identify with. You show a rare talent in these films.
Went a little under a year after this video. When you first come up into the lobby the wall to your left is gone and nothing but a pile of rubbish. The dinning/ball room didn't have a floor and there were a lot of holes in the floor on the third floor. Also, the middle of the building has begun to cave in.
My mother managed Hilltop back in the late 80's-early 90's when the Stanhagen's owned it. Her office was down the hallway to your right of the front desk. The one with the copy paper boxes all over. :-( She did have one heck of a view, though. And she lived in the yellow house that was right down the street from Hilltop. Again, another gorgeous view.

There are a lot of wierd things in this house. 1. Blood stains. These don't come from cutting yourself. 2. Bleach... a lot of.. This bleach was first manufactured 2014. So this is actually pretty new as this video was shot, but as this place is run down, it is definitely leftover by a third person.. but what was cleaned? 3. Bulletholes in the wall. Well, it looks like Bulletholes. 4. That noise at 18:18 and a second time... oh my god.. you were not alone at all. Freaks me out. 5. Shouldn't the house suffered from a partial collapse? 6. A ceiling shows signs of a fire, but not the adjacent wall. at 5:50 7. There is a fukkin bloody handprint on a window. 8. Someone ripped a cable (copper) out the ceiling, but didn't take it with him? If I have the time and take the risk of being noticed, why leave he "valuable" behind? 9. at 10:49 i don't get it. 10. at 11:50 something big was removed from that place. probably a closet or desk drawer stuff. Let's see if I notice something else out-of-place

As someone who doesn't believe in ghosts. I knew that when I saw a bit of dust fly in front of the Camera, if I looked in the comments people would be saying 'orbs'. And i thought right lol. Surely seeing that its alot more reasonable and logical for it to just be a dust particle lifted up from the movement of Dan in an old abandoned building smothered in dust and debris. Rather than believing it's some sort of spirit from an afterlife. These videos are really creepy for me aswell, not for Ghosts, but the thought someone could be sleeping in these places. Which is even more terrifying as you'd have to be insane to sleep in this type of place. I'm waiting for an explorer somewhere in the middle of the night to just walk in a room to see a man standing in there. That to me is scarier than Casper wondering around making knocking sounds..
Usually people who sleep in abandoned places are homeless, so if you ever go to one of these then bring like a little bag full of stuff they might need like water, food, toothbrush and toothpaste, just so you can give it to them. a lot of people think people living in these places are crazy and will kill them, but usually it's a NICE HUMAN BEING WHO JUST DOESNT HAVE ANY OTHER PLACE TO LIVE. they might yell at you to go away, but if you give them a pack of stuff they might need, then they might let you stay and look around.

he is, because usually the air is too hard to breath/smells way too bad, especially with all the blood in this one also there could be gases/chemicals that could harm him so it's always best to keep safe when exploring abandoned buildings. Feces and decay (like multiple dead animals and animal feces he finds in places like this) release chemicals that could cause him to get ill
As a railfan, it even scared me, especially given the fact that these old buildings are creepier than many newer ones, and trains have always had a haunting factor to them for me. Big props to you, Dan. Seriously big props.

You got serious guts roaming around places like this at night. Utmost respect. Not only that, but great commentary and fantastic artistic photography that manages to bring respect to these sadly neglected places.
I like the way you don't try to "hype up" the drama by, for example, calling out to people all the time for dramatic effect. You always let the experience speak for itself and you keep it very real. This has the effect of everything feeling very genuine and this gives an immediacy and accessibility to what becomes a shared experience. It's not just that you don't make silly mistakes, of course, it's also that you remain vulnerable and you have the character to let us know how you really respond to the environment even if it means letting us in on your fear and self-doubt. You're the kind of story teller that we gladly identify with. You show a rare talent in these films.
Went a little under a year after this video. When you first come up into the lobby the wall to your left is gone and nothing but a pile of rubbish. The dinning/ball room didn't have a floor and there were a lot of holes in the floor on the third floor. Also, the middle of the building has begun to cave in.
My mother managed Hilltop back in the late 80's-early 90's when the Stanhagen's owned it. Her office was down the hallway to your right of the front desk. The one with the copy paper boxes all over. :-( She did have one heck of a view, though. And she lived in the yellow house that was right down the street from Hilltop. Again, another gorgeous view.

Lovett, a local man of African American descent, who dreamed of managing a hotel overlooking John Brown's historic act. This first hotel burned in 1912, and its replacement burned again in 1917 or 1918. Still, Lovett and his wife Lavonia perservered, and the Hilltop House Hotel became host to such notable figures as Mark Twain, Alexander Graham Bell, and Bill Clinton.

Among various apparitions, it is said that between 2 and 3am, noises such as pots banging, laughing, and voices can be heard coming from an empty kitchen. There are a lot of wierd things in this house.
1. Blood stains. These don't come from cutting yourself.
2. Bleach... a lot of.. This bleach was first manufactured 2014. So this is actually pretty new as this video was shot, but as this place is run down, it is definitely leftover by a third person.. but what was cleaned?
3. Bulletholes in the wall. Well, it looks like Bulletholes.
4. That noise at 18:18 and a second time... oh my god.. you were not alone at all. Freaks me out.
5. Shouldn't the house suffered from a partial collapse?
6. A ceiling shows signs of a fire, but not the adjacent wall. at 5:50
7. There is a fukkin bloody handprint on a window.
8. Someone ripped a cable (copper) out the ceiling, but didn't take it with him? If I have the time and take the risk of being noticed, why leave he "valuable" behind?
9. at 10:49 i don't get it.
10. at 11:50 something big was removed from that place. probably a closet or desk drawer stuff.

Why he was pointing the camera where it was or why he wanted to leave? Because both are just from him feeling uneasy. I imagine the two knocks were a squatter trying to scare whoever was there off. I'm not too sure because of the cuts; if the mattress was in the same room as the bleach, that would be very unsettling. Another thing to note is that the mattress looks almost too damn clean for that place.

As someone who doesn't believe in ghosts. I knew that when I saw a bit of dust fly in front of the Camera, if I looked in the comments people would be saying 'orbs'. And i thought right lol. Surely seeing that its alot more reasonable and logical for it to just be a dust particle lifted up from the movement of Dan in an old abandoned building smothered in dust and debris. Rather than believing it's some sort of spirit from an afterlife. These videos are really creepy for me aswell, not for Ghosts, but the thought someone could be sleeping in these places. Which is even more terrifying as you'd have to be insane to sleep in this type of place. I'm waiting for an explorer somewhere in the middle of the night to just walk in a room to see a man standing in there. That to me is scarier than Casper wondering around making knocking sounds..

also there could be gases/chemicals that could harm him so it's always best to keep safe when exploring abandoned buildings. Feces and decay (like multiple dead animals and animal feces he finds in places like this) release chemicals that could cause him to get ill

I would surmise that a lot of effort is committed to ensure there's is no signs of effort. I am always entertained never aware of anything inauthentic or choreographed. You are very talented at making us uncomfortable (key to being scared as you obviously know) and you're emphatically committed to ensuring the show's integrity as well as it's overall climate, w/out ever overdoing any of it.
