@@Gpknives it seems simple when you do it right, eh? It's the difference between doing it right and trying too hard. I'm looking forward to picking up a Rexy Native tomorrow. 😎
Ordered the white handheld rex 45 version from you guys I have one of other versions as well that's been riding in my pocket for the last couple months really dig the native 5 think it's my new favorite EDC.
I have several Native 5's in G-10 & FRN as well as a Native 4 FS. I think its a great utility knife for the average worker and the options in scales & steel are tremendous!
Placed my first order with you last Friday, it's due to be delivered tomorrow (Monday). Had my shipping notification less than an hour and a half after placing my order for the satin Rex45 Native 5. You guys ROCK! I watched this video and kept thinking, I'm getting knife specs from Sam Elliott - can't beat that! LOL
Sometimes knife companies just nail a design. IMHO the two Spydercos for me are the PM2 & the Native 5. Like all great knives, it comes down to aesthetics, blade design and ergos. This knife is an easy carry with reliable performance. I have the lightweight blackout version but would love to get the REX45 (a great steel that doesn't get enough love). Regardless, Spyderco do a good job with all their steels. Strongly recommended for a medium duty small-mid EDC. Thanks for the vid.
Spyderco is my go to brand. IMO they always bail it with the blade and ergos. Ergos are not talked about enough in the knife industry but ergos are just as important to me as the quality of the blade. A lot of great companies drop the ball on ergos and it baffles me.
Waiting for one of these to arrive . Keeping this one stock. I did hear the maxamet target hrc is 68 which is way up there and some reports of 70 hrc .
If you file down the finger guard behind the front choil, makes this knife so much better & ergo, extends the handle also ( Only took 2 minutes with metal file and sandpaper to smooth it out )
Comprehensive presentation Tyler..!!! Thanks..!!! I recently purchased a S110V Dark Blue G10 Native 5 and find it to be much stiffer to open than any of my other Spydercos. Is that due to the locking system?
I like the native for one because its a great knife comfortable good ergos but even more so because im a lefty and right handed people arent getting more out of it than i am. I own a para 2 and a few others but i dont like the lock on para 2 because its for right handed people. Lefties can use it but its biased toward the right hand.

Spectacular video work, fellas! No fluff, extremely relevant comparisons, and clear explanations of the features and differences. Thanks!

I have three Native 5s along with three Sages and a Para 3. The Natives get the most carry time. Great knife.

Glad you like the video. I'm really coming around to the N5 after spending some time with it. Thanks for watching!
i had a couple of sages. native fits my hand better and has a more useful blade shape...but you have to be ok with backlock

Great Review.
I have the lil native I want this next
Love my blue lightweight
My version is in S35VN steel but that saved me around $60 on the price vs the SPY27 so its all good.
Both are great well-balanced steels. SPY27 currently remains higher because it is a newer and less common steel and proprietary to Spyderco knives.
Wish for Compression lock.
Spyderco Para 3 or Sage 5. 👍

The mid-lock back on the Native series is quite strong and can be a bit stiff until it breaks in. Time and some lightweight oil will help.
Does this only come in the lock back or is there a compression lock
I wish they made an all-black DLC version with the G-10 scales.
Same. 🙏Thanks for watching.
I got the silver hardware one, it’s a handy knife
👍
I bought the dlc and it’s gonna be tough to resist this one
👍

Cool
Can you swap the blades between the g10 and FRN?
Generally yes. Voids the manufacturer warranty. YMMV.
@@Gpknives we're all used to voiding warranties anyway LOL
Am i wrong for not acknowledging a spyderco unless it has a compression lock?
