Best they've sounded since the early 90s. Holy shit man. So good. I saw them in 2011 and it doesn't even hold a candle to this. Paz rules.
Seriously, Paz gets too much hate. I love Kim Deal, but Paz is very close to Kim’s vocalization and style of playing, big ups to her for that.

It’s unfortunate that Charles and Kim couldn’t get along. Kim is probably in a better place not having to deal (pun intended!) with the dysfunction. I’m sure Paz’s way of handling it had a lot to do with her being asked to join the group permanently. Both are wonderful bass players.

Today's music generally sucks. This could absolutely not be released today because it wouldn't have the same depth, independence, and 90's rock spirit.
@@pauloriley4020 I understand you’re point, but regardless, I think there’s a lot of music today that retains the same gravity of the pixies, while obviously being in the underground, it is still music of today. I think bands like Iceage, Idles, Parquet Courts, and Black MIDI might prove my point
Modern music ended in 1999 and we've been stuck on a loop ever since.
Some of it good, some of it great, most of it abysmal, but none that you hadn't heard before.
They have been my favourite band for 32 years. I'm pretty sure that they'll remain my favourite for however long I have left.

There's one thing about Pixies that sets them apart from every other band. When you hear a band, they always remind you of someone else. There's a clear influence in their sound. Please tell me a band The Pixies remind you of when you listen to them. Good luck with that.

Great band, great song writing, right on time for it's times, lots of ups and downs but ultimately they stood the test of time, hung in there, clambered through some darkness back towards the lights for all of these years and still have a cult following and great turn out to show. Bravo, happy for The Pixies :)

Typical mainstream type mix, heavy on vocals and bass but guitars way down, such a pity, would have been awesome otherwise,,,but just doesn't sound right without his guitar parts...
His guitar should be mixed the loudest. Joey's tone and licks are The Pixes sound.
Listen. Unbelievable, mind blowing. One of the most incredible bands in the world.
Even without the witchcraft of Kim Deal. Its like a champion boxer with a missing leg, but damn if he's not still the champion.

So cool to see them out playing here, even without Kim who I dig... But, it's another example of a quality band moving forward with the passing of time, and new blood in the lineup (Alice In Chains, The Church, Lush, The Alarm, Big Country, The Cure, Van Halen, P.O.D, and VAST, just to name a few...) and the bass player did a great job here. Looks like they're having fun and still sound terrific! Thanks, for posting.
Pixies watched them in South Africa best day of my life. Thanks for being there for me threw the worst and best days of my life. Joey is so brilliant screw all the people that over look him as one of the best of all time.
I never bore of telling people that I saw the Pixies on their first UK tour in 1988 and twice more in 1989.
Hey I saw them in a pub in Scarborough as a warm up gig advertised the same day in the York evening press. Rammed it was but they still had a darts match on. 🥴

Just compiled a greatest hits from their first 4 albums and had down 50 tracks which are fantastic. Also just played their latest 3 albums and I had down 30 tracks. What a songwriter this guy is. Even his solo stuff is so enjoyable.

I've lost all my 80's and 90's artist heroes..except these guys. So glad.
One of the most satisfying live sets I've watched in a while. It deserves mentioning just how many parts have been composed, practiced, and executed flawlessly by these 4 minds. Whereas the prototypical pop-star festival show might have 3 parts (verse, chorus, bridge) and keep cycling them in different keys for 90 minutes - something that any monkey could do. The Pixies are elite musicians; no contest!

Wish I were there ... :( One of favourite bands - Nirvana , Pixies (and Frank Black) & Smashing Pumpkins - whenever I feel bad I listen to them & everything gets better :) Some bands come to my playlist - come and go. But Pixies is a permanent resident there/ ' coz this band is pure energy . Modern bands should learn from them.

Weird that they completely ignored Trompe Le Monde, but they hit the ground running with some of their most aggressive songs from Surfer Rosa. I miss Kim but Paz does a fine job.

"River Euphrates" is among those listed. Im not to that point, as of yet. Ergo, we shall see..Trompe Le Monde, after a very hard pressing would be my "favorite ". How i despise the redundancy of merely using it in a sentence.

Great comments. What I love about the Pixies is that ALL their music defies conventional rock and roll song-writing, yet it's still PURE fkg rock and roll! The way they randomly throw in a few bars of 5/4, 6/8, and use dissonant melody and chording as their standard framework(which is no framework at all). And of course the newer bass player and drummer have an uncommon command over the dynamics of hard/soft volume and intensity. But that's also a characteristic of the Pixies overall. As Black Francis has said himself, "We're Pixies; little people who're in touch with something mystical." I couldn't agree more. On my page, I'll be posting a cover of My Velouria within the next month, hopefully. Cheers!

Got to see them live for the first time in Napa, CA... then they opened for Weezer in Sacramento, then the last time I went it was at a Festival in Pasadena double headlining with The Cure. I cannot wait until they come back to CA!

@@MiguelRamirez-kf3ch No Kim No Pixies... ese Black Francis la neta debería ser más humilde, hay entrevistas donde dice que encontraron "Reemplazo" rápido ¬¬, además no es como cualquier bajista, Pixies se hizo Pixies con todos y lo peor es que ella cantaba y hacia coros muy presentes, cambiar a un miembro tan indispensable no es encontrar un reemplazo sino cambiar un stylo, una forma de hacer las cosas, un sonido, no me refiero a que lo haga mal el "Reemplazo", ame el Mer De Noms con APC y creo que tiene mucho potencial pero las rolas de Pixies son de Pixies y me disculparan los fans de PAZ pero Pixies son: Charles, Joey, David Y KIM!!, otros son imitaciones, si te conformas con interpretaciones ajenas de lo que era pues bien por ti, llamame exigente o "fan acérrimo", yo simplemente me concideraría mas bien fan de lo real y no copias...

Cerrando los ojos ni si quiera notarías la diferencia entre Kim y Paz. Aparte ella fue la que no quiso regresar. Black Francis no pudo hacer mejor trabajo en encontrar a Paz para que podamos seguir disfrutando de Pixies en vivo
