Served in Berlin in 89/90 and the Berlin Brigade Chieftains (and 432/30s!) always stole the show during any Tri-Partite parade or exercise, if only because of the paint job!
There was no need for your colleague to give you that very gesture, he should be made to make the cups of tea for a month, another great video, bext regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
At some point, it would be great to see an in-depth look at the Fodens and why you like the White front better. Great video's and like your style. Keep up the good work.
Totally agree!!! I was looking at the stern of Foden and wondering about all the pin holes and how they are utilised to pull all different sorts of things.
I once did a tamiya 1/35 chieftain in Berlin brigade colours & that was a pain in the ass . BIg respect to you guys doing a full size one ! Can't wait to see it finished 👍
Awesome, think you’re very lucky to be able to do what you do. ‘Do something you enjoy and you’ll never work a day in your life’ I think is how the saying goes! 👍🇺🇦👍🇺🇦
Saw a video by exploremore of a yard full of trucks etc.more importantly there was a Stalwart in the yard. Most of the vehicles had York on the names. Great videos keep them coming...
Being from Canada I’ve never heard of a Foden before connecting with your channel. Great trucks. We have ‘Bed Trucks’, Picker Trucks, wreckers with the same configuration as your Fodens, but your cabs are shorter, we had cabovers, but were phased out in favour of aerodynamic‘conventional’ tractors for long haul’s
My wife 'caught' me watching the channel last night and passed some remark about 'tank porn'. Good job she didn't realise see all the lingering shots of Ted.
I don't know it it's just me, but I felt a wave of sadness to hear that the warrior tank would end up nothing more than a gate guard. It seems such a lovely piece of machinery and runs nicely too, although it appears some instrumentation is not working. Maybe I'm starting to understand why people like rescuing, renovating, restoring and running such machines.... though I'm not sure how practical some of them would be as a daily driver! 😀
I’ve always been fascinated with the heavier type of war / commercial vehicles, SCANIA, SCAMMEL, FODEN, FORDS, LEYLAND, MAN, MACK, UNIMOG /MERCEDES etc but beginning to like the looks & sounds of your tanks as well. Daniel.
Just finished the vid, i cant believe you have a favourite Foden, dont tell the other one, no parent should have a favourite -well admit to it. I tell my kids you are my favourite daughter or son. Only have one of each.
Hey joe🙋 your regular sub here, I have a pretty good idea for your Renault car video.. You can change the thumbnail and replace it with time stamp 7:19 of that video. It will attract a lot of new viewers. And you can also change the title to "tearing a car apart with two trucks" or "testing a Renault clio's durability". Hope you'll find this helpful.❤
really looking forward to the berlin cheiftain,i was 3 tk tptr sqn dvr in germany.we used to pull them out of berlin once a year and transport them down to hohne ranges so they could do live fireing,AWESOME SIGHT....
Mate building a train track will be a sick project in the future but out of all the steel and iron I've just seen that pink horse box lol what's the story there, I saw the Tele that identifies as a Foden looking at her giving her a 😉 but the worrier flexed passed and cockblocked big Yella, could be trouble in the yard later 🤣🤣
1:15 you can use wood or cheap seam pipe to make tracks for those and make it into a water delivery system. My grandpa had a similar, but smaller mine loco and he'd move heavy equipment and water all over the farm with it. He used whatever was around to make the tracks, which weren't permanent, he'd switch them about wherever he'd need them. Best part, no holes in the soft soil, using boards and whatever to displace the weight. Super farm friendly.
Great video as always, makes me jealous to see all of the vehicles you work on on a daily basis! This has probably been asked many times before, but has there been any consideration to the Challenger 1 'Prototype' that's been listed on a certain military vehicle site for a few years? Would be an interesting one for sure, though I can imagine not the easiest logistically!
hey guys for us over seas viewer can you do a bit on the Fodens, I.d like to know what the drive line and engine is in ti and who its manufactured by if not Foden them selves?
That Foden must do yards to the Gallon when you're manoeuvring tanks etc about. Can you use Red Diesel in it as it's not used on the (public) roads (very often) or are crucified with the tax?? Or is this a question best left unanswered!!! 😂😂😂
Foden or Lanz Bulldog at 10:50????? Jokes aside n they are an impressive bit of kit. The gents who designed them did a good job. Not sure if they made it to here in Australia.
@ 10:56 that sounds like a english diesel locomotive 😁,what are you going to do with all those chassis of tanks that you moved around ? will you restore them all,and if yes, would a tarp to keep the rain away,be a good idea ? Also curious to see what you will make of the mining locomotives 😎
There's a Challenger 2 sat outside the Discovery museum in Newcastle, used to be the gate guard at Vickers Scotswood Plant where it was built, I believe it was a trial one, it sits on a ramp in the car park now, sadly it's also full of concrete apparently.
Trains around the farm - sounds interesting. Are you planning on hauling farmed crops, or just using them as toys? Yes, they are surprisingly heavy/dense - they have to be. Metal on metal doesn't grip, so all that weight is essential for adhesion so it will pull loads. And that pedal isn't the throttle, the throttle will be hand operated. That's the safety cut-out pedal. You have to keep your foot on it all the time or it will stop.
Wow, brings back memories, drove warrior for 10yrs during my time in the army!!! Brilliant machine
It’s a real oversight of the original architects of that farm to not plan better for large scale armored vehicle operations.
Man that Warrior is so sick! Also very excited to see the final results on the Berlin Brigade Chieftain. Very nice piece
Served in Berlin in 89/90 and the Berlin Brigade Chieftains (and 432/30s!) always stole the show during any Tri-Partite parade or exercise, if only because of the paint job!
My Sunday is complete, a 1 fingered salute from Jack, the promise of railway fun to come and lots of Foden action ❤
Any one of your episodes that features a Foden is top drawer to me.❤
What a waste of a perfectly good warrior. I’ll buy it to save it from wastage. Always loved them.
There was no need for your colleague to give you that very gesture, he should be made to make the cups of tea for a month, another great video, bext regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
I cannot wait to see the train and track around the farm what a incredible idea. These videos are excellent. 👍🏻Good job lads
Thinking the same... Who would like to see the train re-bodied as a foden? Thumbs up and ill CAD up the design...
At some point, it would be great to see an in-depth look at the Fodens and why you like the White front better. Great video's and like your style. Keep up the good work.

Safety Officer Ted is doing a very good job!
The Foden was designed to recover vehicles up to 30t, but it doesn't know and tows a 50t chieftain 💪
Awesome, think you’re very lucky to be able to do what you do. ‘Do something you enjoy and you’ll never work a day in your life’ I think is how the saying goes! 👍🇺🇦👍🇺🇦
CVRT (Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance Tracked) Love the shows
Those old Fodons are just awesome trucks . Just a beast 👍🇬🇧👍🇬🇧
I love how easy the Foden makes shunting those hulls around!
Saw a video by exploremore of a yard full of trucks etc.more importantly there was a Stalwart in the yard. Most of the vehicles had York on the names. Great videos keep them coming...

The American paccar company owned foden trucks until they sold it off and killed the name in the mid 2000s I used to work at the factory
Love the warrior brings back loads of good memory’s, would love to have a drive in one again.
That Foden eats its weetabix , bloody handy tool that . 100% fan here
Love that Foden! Plenty of power! Most of the time barely off tick over
Would love to see the Challenger 1 added to your collection! one of my favourite tanks of that era.
One day!!
The Berlin paint on that Cheiftain is going to look soooo good! Excited! Ted'll concrete that bit for you.
Nice,2ft gauge.
The pedal on the floor will be dead man's pedal.
The warrior parked up between those walls looks like something from Normandy 😁
Nice bit of pushing and pulling MR Hews. Really impressive HGV driving skills.Proper bits of kit are those Fodens!
This is the most AMAZINGLY , BADASS CHANNEL!!! Keep it up Boyz!👊💪
Great driving, low range 6x6 engaged, sounds good, thanks for sharing 💨💨👍
My wife 'caught' me watching the channel last night and passed some remark about 'tank porn'. Good job she didn't realise see all the lingering shots of Ted.
I must say that when the warrior turned past the broken brick wall and encountered the rear end of that tank, I got Deja vu of Kelly’s Heroes.
If this channel wasn't good enough....TRAINS !!!!! You had me at hello!
Can't wait lads!
Gregg 🙂
The Warrior is such a cool machine, too bad its just gonna end up as a gate guard.

Can't wait to see it when you build a train track round your farm that be cool
🤣
If you guys need any Hydraulics sorting on the trains, let me know. I'm local to you lot. Love the videos, keep it up!

You forget to mention DAF, TATRA, LAZ
Give Ted a well earned belly rub for us!
Great effort, is exciting with 'what could be' with the 'Concrete Chieftain'.
Just finished the vid, i cant believe you have a favourite Foden, dont tell the other one, no parent should have a favourite -well admit to it. I tell my kids you are my favourite daughter or son. Only have one of each.
little did we know that mk3 hull was destined for greatness
I am very surprised that Ted has not got his own TH-cam and Twitter account

I’l try it bud
Trains now we are talking! 2ft gauge? Good stuff.
Nice work manoeuvring the tanks with the Foden(s). 😎👍
Awesome video thanks lads very much appreciated 👍🇬🇧👍
Nice choo choos. Can’t wait to see your little railway
really looking forward to the berlin cheiftain,i was 3 tk tptr sqn dvr in germany.we used to pull them out of berlin once a year and transport them down to hohne ranges so they could do live fireing,AWESOME SIGHT....
Probably moved her at some stage then! Photos at Hohne as well 👍🏻
Once a year! That’s pretty sad, matey ☹️.
The Foden’s a beast. I want one
Amazing skills with the Foden. 👍
Mate building a train track will be a sick project in the future
but out of all the steel and iron I've just seen that pink horse box lol
what's the story there, I saw the Tele that identifies as a Foden looking at her giving her a 😉 but the worrier flexed passed and cockblocked big Yella, could be trouble in the yard later 🤣🤣
Keep it, blow gate guard !
That Foden does a good job at moving those MBT's around. I bet jobs like that I bet you wish you had that Cent ARV up and running!
Brilliant steering around the corner with that mk3
Those shackles on the front of the Foden look big enough to use to hang the whole truck up.
They are!
THIS ONES MORE LIKE SUPERMARKET SWAP OR SWEEP BUT BLOODY GOOD TO SEE SOME GOOD DRIVING 😮 .
Tanks AND Trains ! - awesome 😁
That warrior sounds awesome! I want one and a muddy assault course 😂

love watching you all play with tanks what a job , out of interest how much weight can the fodens push or pull .
keep up the good work 👍👍 carry on !!
Man that warrior sounds good
That yellow Foden is nice.
"be a lot easier if it ran" brother I think that might be the motto of AW Hewes
Great video as always, makes me jealous to see all of the vehicles you work on on a daily basis! I'm really jealous too that he's driving all around those vehicles!!
It’s strictly not quite a Challenger prototype but ATR 1 which was used as an automotive test bed on the Shir programme.
And then MBT 80.
There is a chance that could make its way to mine
@@MrHewes Now that does bring a smile to my face... would be some amazing content, I'll keep my hopes up lol
Let me design a 'Foden' body for that train for you... A narrow gauge 'Foden' train.... The perfect solution... :)
You’re the skinner!!👍👊
Lmfao at the trans JCB..... Nicely done 😊

Only agricultural vehicles can run red now as the law has changed. It’s a road trip to BP now for the expensive stuff 🤢🤢
@@MrHewes Stick a shovel on the back and call it a tractor!
2:02 that's one hell of a Yoda impression!
You should have an open day to allow your fans to come and see all your projects .
I go to shows for that. I like to keep where I live private for obvious reasons
I saw a for sale sign in the Foden, i hope thats from the sale to you? Love the content and look forward to your vids keep it up.
It’s definitely not for sale 🤣
Foden or Lanz Bulldog at 10:50????? Jokes aside n they are an impressive bit of kit. The gents who designed them did a good job. Not sure if they made it to here in Australia.
Love the videos but always wish we has more and longer maybe with a bit more talking too.
I don’t like the sound of my own voice
@@MrHewes maybe but we need your wise words. maybe get a video editor person.
Always enjoy Foden content 👌

@Mr Hewes I hope that for sale sign on the Foden is an old one! 😂
I need to take that out 🤣
This should have been titled “Tanks, trains, and terrible terrain”
WARRIOR wasted as a gate gaurd, shame on them.
There's a Challenger 2 sat outside the Discovery museum in Newcastle, used to be the gate guard at Vickers Scotswood Plant where it was built, I believe it was a trial one, it sits on a ramp in the car park now, sadly it's also full of concrete apparently.
Great! How do you get around Council with use of farm, do you describe tanks as farm vehicles. I know its still a working farm as well.
Trains around the farm - sounds interesting. Are you planning on hauling farmed crops, or just using them as toys?
Yes, they are surprisingly heavy/dense - they have to be. Metal on metal doesn't grip, so all that weight is essential for adhesion so it will pull loads.

That dog has a more intresting life than I do.
Another cracking video👍
Wow trains on you're farm. The views on the channel are going to go through the roof. You need a fluffy thing on your mic though. Ooo matron.
Teds helping mask, Foden,s a nice unit
Great video!
Brill job!! Ted is a lovely boy… my Scruff is same …follows me everywhere….💪💪🥰🥰👍
Another day of shuffle and park at the Hewes establishment. Good job you have the gear to do the work, 3 Fodens can manage anything? or can they?
That poor things gonna be bloody full of cherry blossom
That MKIII looks pretty rough. Hopefully you have a truck load of parts to help finish her👍
Shed load
very cool
Cheers
Jim
Great video as always Joe, wanted to ask though how do the towing hitches/clamps work the two piece ones you always you the A frame on?
I can only imagine that when you drive a normal car, it must feel rather puny compared to that beast from Sandbach.
Why does the white foden have a for sale sign on it. You seem to use it a lot??
Ready for the Upcoming swivel door and land reclamation.,🤗..
When it's (Concrete Chefitan) up and running, is this a pub/chipshop run vehicle? You said you'd go in a real MBT?
Massive shame the Warrior is ending up as a gate guard :/
"Warriors.........., come out to plaaaaayaaaay!"
I’m a simple guy. I see a Foden 6x6 wrecker and hit “like”
Does the foden start up one cylinder at a time there?
Yes she’s clapped
Love the video... what kind of drive train in your fodens.. sorry canadian never seen a sweet piece of machinery like that lol
Rolls-Royce Eagle engine (290hp)
The Warrior is going to be a GATE GUARD ?!?! Travesty 😪
Can’t you find an old nackered one and paint it up for the gate guard?
Ted the only one working hard :)
