@@CRGuitarr Well, for what it's worth, I work in audio/composition and I can't tell you how genuinely amazing your work is. I promise you that you are beyond a professional level. This is exceptional. A lot of industry professionals put a lot of work into mixing acoustic guitars so they sound spatially rich, but there is such a tendency to offset percussion for warmth. The music is either raw and raucous or subtle and emotional. And that goes for Nintendo and Square's published albums as well. Yet here you are, creating these dynamic, vibrant soundscapes that are crisp, clear, eclectic, and gorgeous... and making it seem so effortless (I know it isn't!). Your rhythms have all the bouncing floor beds of R&B synths, but are as prickly and sparkling as only guitars can be. Your leads are rich and detailed but never superfluous. It never feels like the melodies are playing over the music but rather coming from somewhere within them. And I don't know if your reverb is natural or constructed but it's tuned to perfection. Between the stereo dynamics and mastering, every note at every level bounces off each other instead of competing with each other. It feels symphonic, it feels world class...and yet it's just you and your spaghetti jpeg haha. You're a genuine virtuoso, my friend. And it's sincerely an honour and a delight to be watching your journey up and out :) Sorry for the rant. But every time you upload a video, I always get excited and it's always a wonderful part of that day. And for all my quips on your videos, I really just wanted you to know how I felt once. May as well be here. On behalf of ALL of us, thank you so much for doing what you do :)
Wow man I don’t even know what to say other than this might be the nicest comment I’ve ever read. I put a lot of thought and effort into these and for you to notice and appreciate all of the details means a lot to me. Thanks so much man!
First time I heard this theme was courtesy of Super Mario RPG. But that game was what brought me into the RPG world! What was your first time hearing this theme?
Middle school me: “this character seems out of place” Victory song plays: “oh I get it now” Also you ever thought about doing a gear and recording video special? I want to learn your ways
I blasted this out to all my friends.. all 3. Plus my dad. Who then asked me if I could play it to which I replied... of course! It takes a special brain to hit that constant bass line though. Nostolgia juices in full effect! Well done sir! You make Mario proud. Chris Pratt Mario 💖💪
Nobou Uematsu is a god of video game music. Funny enough, I actually played SMRPG first when it released before FFIV. Even though I know FFIV came first, I always think of Culex when I hear this lol. Excellent job! I can't wait to hear Yoko Shinomura's new arrangement in the SMRPG remake.
Same here! This made believe I could find Culex's true background in some older SNES Final Fantasy. Played FF6, then FF5, and when it came to FF4's first boss the "Aha! This is the game!" moment happened. There was no Culex nor any Dark Realm of Wanda in FF4, which wasn't a problem because FF4 is awesome nonetheless. I just wish the remake will include an extra post game quest where the gang explores Culex homeworld a bit. I can only dream!
I have listened to many times since yesterday, it's so good! The layering is so spot on and smooth! This is really hard to pull off by yourself. May I ask though is the spaghetti there to transition video loop. I only noticed because of the cat lol. More FF IV and VI songs please!
Thanks! I put a lot of time into getting this mix right. That’s a plate of copypasta to let you guys know that the repeat happens and also to make the transition to loop smoother too 🙂. I’m also amazed at how many of you noticed my cat! I’ll be doing more from those OSTs at some point
@@CRGuitarr I mean.. now I can't believe I didn't think of copypasta lol. Truly the mix is inspiring, dead on timing. I've been sending your videos to a bunch of muscian friends. I am brand new to your content so maybe I missed it but would love to hear you shred on that Razorback. (I mistakenly went eclipse and not a regret but I'm jealous none the less) That specific OST is genius, full symphony translated to 16bit sound but it never really lost it's feeling. Which lends itself perfectly to what you're doing. Can't wait to hear more :). P.S. are you doing that little snare sound off video by hitting deadend strings? I've noticed some flamenco hit's on the body of the acoustic as drum hits in some of your other videos not on video.
@@CRGuitarr what I respect with your work, as opposed to other acoustic video game cover artists is you take the time to hit every sweet note no matter how many guitars are required and you don't alter the beat in any way mid song, which I find annoying and irritating. No sentimental slow downs. You should technically be as popular as Super Guitar Bros in my book. Though they've been around for ages so theres that... oh and your recording equipment is clearly better. I don't understand if you're going to make video game covers a professional hobby that you wouldn't get the sound quality and micing correct
@justinbrink7425 that’s super flattering man. The Super Guitar Bros were my first exposure to video game music on guitars and they were a big inspiration for me! And I agree, I’d rather keep a groove alive than do rubato but to each their own!
My strategy was to make Peach and Bowser attack the Wind Crystal with that consumable item that deals 200 damage, and then pray to hit all the timing in Mario's Super Jump for it to deal 400 damage. The Wind Crystal has 800HP. If I could kill it in turn 1, then no Petal Blast and no being turned into a mushroom. THEN, I could have a chance with Culex and the other crystals,
@CRGuitar you look like you are having a lot of fun playing this one. It really is an addictive toon. Can be easily looped for 10 hours and listened to without getting tired of it. Can you edit this one so it plays for 10 hours? Please and thank you, my first comment, I subscribed and liked this video!
It's not easy in the aspect of it being a lot of notes and your fingers moving all the time. Bass is an instrument that takes a lot of hand strength. The strings are heavy and it's got to time up with the drums as well. Weird juxtopisition of melody and drum hits at the same time. On paper it looks sorta easy. I will say this, nothing can shake an entire crowd of people like a well timed bass and drum hit. You can feel their hearts in rhythm.
Culex for Smash
Hell yes
Geno and Mallow, too... God can you imagine if they had been playable characters in Smash bros, with Culex as a boss battle?!
@@willkinney5051 It's really a crime that Geno is NOT a Smash character
I like to imagine Culex sitted on a stool furiously playing an acoustic guitar

One of, if not THE, best acoustic mixing on TH-cam. I can't believe how rich and layered this feels. I'm running out of ways to gush about you.
Wow man that’s a huge compliment! Haha I’ll never tire of the gushing. It means a lot when it’s as well articulated as you do it

My all time favorite boss theme from the Final Fantasy series.
You have good taste
My dogs are wondering why I'm bouncing around and shaking the floors
that bassline sounds so good on your guitar!
That guitar spoils me!
The bass in this song hits hard. Such a great tune.
Hell yeah
Best boss battle theme the FF franchise has to offer, IMO. Good show!
Slaps so hard I couldn’t resist! Thank you
Yo nostalgia for real! I haven't played this game in a second, so this was a nice surprise!
Glad to hear it bro! This one slaps so hard I couldn’t resist
Freakin amazing. 40 years old and still boyishly obsessed with classic FF tunes. Thanks for this and all that you do!
Also, way to slay on the bass.
It’s my pleasure. And yeah the bass was by far the hardest part!
