Ofc he's not interesting anymore since they also cut off any potential character development he got to reset anything to the status quo. Bakugo death, dark hero arc, potential romance with ochaco, him not idolizing all might anymore. All thrown in the trash, he's just a guy that wants to save people. Strategy for his costume? His quirks are like 2 and a half suits of equipment
That’s what happens when you train. He started to get stronger with ofa in the time that he had it, and it would’ve gotten repetitive if every fight for the entire series he breaks his arms. And ofc, his other quirks are easier to master since they don’t put him no where NEAR as much physical danger as base ofa(gearshift is the only thing close). And I’m glad he stopped idolizing am I want him to be his own person/hero. Ochacko has already admitted to falling in love with deku and he can’t really confess that given the current situations. They are the main characters so they will end up together anyway but you don't see him worrying or trying anything to be with her. After the war arc I felt like Horikoshi just wanted to rush the final saga so he just decided lemme give Deku Fa Jin, Smoke Screen, Danger Sense, Float and Gearshift right after another all quirks that basically require nowhere near enough training for him to master like he had to with OFA and Blackwhip. Yet I would argue are way more useful and powerful to the point that he is basically a god he was able to take down a ton of villains and assassins AFO kept sending after him for days and he wasn't struggling one bit. Like what happened to Shoot style? the entire point of the third season was him training his legs and consulting with Tenya to not hurt his arms that much yet after he unlocked Blackwhip just decided fuck it I am just going to use my arms again despite me having legs I could use and have trained. It's also getting ridiculous that every major moment post war arc has either been getting retconned or just doesn't matter. Bakugo dies? nope he gets revived and acts like nothing happened, Deku loses his arms completely against Shigaraki trying to save him? nope Eri restores them the next chapter, Deku abandons his friends and UA to try to fight AFO? nope they easily beat him and bring him back to UA with no one caring, Deku finally confesses his love to Ochaco? nope they have to wait after the war arc despite both of them showing they are interested, etc. Like does he not believe in tension anymore? what happened to the My Villain Academia portion of the story where we got to see the league of villains who before were just Saturday cartoon villains readers didn't take seriously besides AFO becoming actual threats that the audience for once said oh shit they may actually be someone the heroes should look out for?

In my opinion the main problem isn't exactly Izuku's character, but the story of MHA in general and how it was put together (and how it's going if i'm going to be honest). I don't want to go on a rant because it's it might not fit in here, but my _biggest_ problem is: the fact that this is their FIRST year of high school. _Way_ too much shit has happened with no proper build up/impact. (Also when Izuku was emotional, a.k.a an actual kid, it was the best version of him, so I'll hold on to that version dearly.)
I definitely agree with that, It’s one of my main criticisms. I think it would’ve been way better for the events of seasons 1, 2, 3 and the first movie to take place in their first year. The first half of Season 4 would be at the very end of their first year with the last half being their summer break. Season 5, the 2nd and third movie to be in their 2nd year (with some more arcs needed in the middle, like a work study heteromorph arc to set up that plotline in the final arc and a 2nd year sports festival. With Midnight being their new home room teacher to make her death more impactful) Than season 6, 7 and the 4th movie would take place in the begging of their 3rd year. I feel like this is a lot better to pace things out. Like you said, too much crap has happened to all take place in their 1st year. Plus them being 3rd years would explain why the heroes would give the students more leeway to participate in a literal war. Plus it would be very interesting to see how students transition into becoming heroes, and we could’ve seen that with the Big 3. I remember the exact moment he got that editor that everyone was panicking cause they knew how trash that editor was and the stuff he was known for doing. I remember Horokoshi was cooking straight fire from the beginning up until the final parts of the first war arc which is when he got that editor and then the series started to have the issues people complained about. This power progression coincides with the story surrounding the character and allows his mindset and mental states to develop meaningfully, which is all of Season 6. 3:30 Ok, I believe you watched My Hero, just with your ears and eyes closed, who says this after seeing the Lady Nagant Fight, War Arc & Deku Vs Class 1-A? 5:30 Deku uses Fa Jin to store up Kinetic Energy using repeated movements dodging rapid bullet fire to destroy Nagant’s arm? Using Blackwhip and Float in conjunction to keep Shigaraki from destroying everyone on the ground level while reinforcing his muscles using blackwhip wrapped around his arms? This is the starting line, Deku is getting more and more creative with his Quirks, only lacking the proper experience and technique to make them work at their fullest capacity in the Vigilante Deku Arc, having multiple powers doesn’t hinder your versatility, Naruto, Goku, Ichigo, Asta, need I go on?
I Strongly Disagree with the narrative that Deku having extra quirks doesn’t make him “analytical and quick witted” anymore. You make it sound like he doesn’t even need to try and use his brain during fights. It actually makes him a lot more quick witted and analytical. Sure he was a quick witted strategist before getting them, but most of his fights was really just Punch, kick, finger flick repeat. The extra quirks he’s received opens doors to more possibilities of how to incorporate them into his strategies and it makes him even more quick witted, analytical and very creative with his strategies more than he’s ever been. Even going as far as to mix one of his quirks with another in a very interesting way that makes them more useful, similar to AFO. His fight with Lady Nagant already proves what I’m saying. Using those quirks he came up with a great strategy in order to hide himself, distract her and get in close to her to beat her. And that’s just a taste of the creative strategies Deku pulls off. In the final arc his creative strategies gets even better. It also helps spice the fights up a bit instead of them just being all about punch harder and kick harder. It also helps integrate the previous OFA users into the story so we can know more about them and their stories, their encounters with AFO, while they play a role in the current story itself. Especially Nana Shimura knowing how important she is to the story. Plus his enemy is literally a guy who has an OP decay quirk, hundreds of different other quirks, a body with the strength, speed and durability comparable to Prime All Might and he has something else up his sleeve I can’t spoil for season 7. So…I don’t see the harm in Deku getting several other quirks himself.

There still have been multiple times where we see him use his quirks analytically/efficiently against Shigaraki, even doing it in the heat of battle. 1. Combining both Black Whip and Fajin to create a stronger binding ability, called “Black Chain” that would hold Shiggy more effectively. 2. Using smokescreen to obscure Shiggy’s vision, danger sense to detect him in the smoke, float to gain instant hight, black whip to pull him up towards him, building up Fajin through a previous quintuple smash and using Fajin, Gearshift and OFA to deliver a massive blow to Shigaraki, leaving him with a hole in his chest. Pretty much using all these quirks in perfect synchronicity. 3. Wrapping himself up in a ball through Black Whip to reduce the damage he’ll take from Shiggy. 4. Using Black Whip to flex and extend his muscles manually within his body to quickly build up power for Fajin to use a Deleware Smash, preventing Decay from spreading any further to Mount Fuji. 5. Knowing Shigaraki stole Danger Sense. Deku combines gearshift to smokescreen in low gear holding the smoke in place, while using Black Whip as a distraction while Shiggy’s vision was obscured in order to set off a constant alarm of Danger Sense in Shiggy’s head in order to confuse him and land a hit that’ll hopefully buy time to store up more Fajin, unfortunately he forgets he has the search quirk and gets hit by Shiggy. 6. Using Black Whip to puppeteer his beaten up and Immobilized body so he can stay in the fight despite being in crippling agony and having trouble breathing. Even the 6th user acknowledges this quick witted behavior by saying “He’s instantly putting to use an idea he came up with in the heat of battle! What a wild way to use that quirk!” 7. While being sent flying and beaten on the ground, he shot multiple strands of Black Whip under ground and carved up a huge chuck of the ground to counter Shigaraki’s decay, preventing it from spreading any further. Similar to U.A’s anti decay defenses. 8. Deku exploited the fact that Shiggy can track him with search and sense him with Danger Sense, so by putting some of his blood in black whip using it and his cape as a distraction knowing search would zero in on his blood. By launching that blood straight at Shigaraki, he fell off his radar while setting off Danger Sense. With that and the help of some smoke screen, it made him misjudge Deku’s position and he was able to land a sneak attack. 9. Then we get to Deku transferring OFA in hopes it will psychologically beat Shigaraki. As I’ve laid out, there have been multiple times especially in the final fight where Deku is clearly analytical in a fight, using his quirks in the most efficient way possible and sometimes in perfect synchronicity. The Nagant fight was not the last time we see him do this kind of stuff.

Reading the manga for MHA right now is just watching hori make every slightly interesting aspect of his show incredibly boring. Every major point of interest set up before this arc just gets muddled down cause he refuses to go through with the direction he built on the first few seasons. I feel like MHA had the foundations to be the best modern shonen of its time, but Horikoshi was too scared to pull the trigger and decided to be safe, ultimately making the show only enjoyable due to its extremely good worldbuilding and concept.

Izuku hadn’t put in any work before attempting to carry out his dreams. He only put in work, after All Might gave him a handout. The manga ended recently. He lost OFA, gave up on his dream, didn’t become the world’s greatest hero or #1 hero. He let 8 years go by & only decided to be a hero again because All Might gave him a mechanical suit.
Arguably the strongest character we’ve seen in his series so that’s almost a lie to say wasted potential. Unless you’re talking about his character and or writing then… I’d still disagree

Watching a few of the videos on this channel seems to only go for low hanging fruit. Like looked up reviews on what "correct shows" to watch to pretend to have taste and what shows are okay to dump on because the community agreed to it. Like they are still in their edgy teenage phase, and that makes their opinion unique.

Tbh, watching this show feels like a chore now. Im sorry but it's so garbage now. The wasted potential is insane! But what I hate more is the way the women are presented, that really takes the cake on how bad this show is.
This is what happens when the mangaka was burned out as hell and would rather glorify villains and claim they're misunderstood or redeemable instead. I highly doubt any of this would happen if the series and characters were given to writers that actually cared about writing good guys, like Araki Hirohiko or the writers at CoroCoro or Level-5, for example.
I personally always found Deku to be kinda unlikable. The only effort he put into being a hero prior to meeting AM was making notebooks on the powers of the heroes around him (How was that going to help him?), and he only started exercising when he was guaranteed to get the most powerful quirk in existence (guaranteeing that he would become the number 1 hero). Also his hero obsession is treated as a good thing within the story when in reality it's really creepy, all his hobbies and thoughts revolve around 'saving people with a smile' to which he is willing to nearly die for. It feels like he has no character outside of the desire to be a hero. Also his romance with Ochaco is the worst romance I've seen in fiction.
I won't try to convince you cause i guess it is one way to look at things but that has definitely got to be the worst way to interpret things for sure.Like for example, saying that he only puts in effort to get the most powerful quirk is a weird thing to say when it wasn't the most powerful quirk when he got it. He consistently put in effort throughout the show for it to get to "the strongest quirk in existence". You can choose to look at the end product if you want to and call the journey meaningless but that is definitely not what the show ever shows.

Constantly dodging repeatedly to store up Fa Jin, using centrifugal force from Black Whip and 45% to make faux 100% to match the same speed as All Might. I’m not sure if you’ve been paying attention or not, but he does do this quite often. And there’s plenty other examples, but I’m not gonna say incase you haven’t read the manga.
I’m very sorry for you falling out of love for the series. But look on the bright side. Maybe the anime will give MHA the great ending we all know it could have.
The problem with Izuku is that he is bland and a normie with a hero complex. He does not have anything unique to him that he worked hard to earn regardless of when he acquired his skills and abilities. Not only that but he has shown time and again to be ill suited to be a hero due to his mindset regarding his quirk since day 1 and hasn't changed since. He is essentially what happens when a side character or even a plot device is forced to become the MC and relies on other characters to carry him with him having any agency or impact like any MC do have.
They all are too slow to even damage him. Mahoraga gets one shotted, Sukuna dies, Yuji lacks the speed to even touch Deku, majority of the JJK verse is slow as hell. Majority of the verse is mach 3 to hypersonic

Mahoraga is too durable to be one shotted (shown by him withstanding Malevolent Shrine and tanking cleave/dismantle), Sukuna could react to Deku and/or cleave him from afar (He reacted to Kashimo’s attack which is nearly at light speeds) but Yuji could be speed blitzed due to him being faster

I definitely agree with that, It’s one of my main criticisms. I think it would’ve been way better for the events of seasons 1, 2, 3 and the first movie to take place in their first year.
The first half of Season 4 would be at the very end of their first year with the last half being their summer break.
Season 5, the 2nd and third movie to be in their 2nd year (with some more arcs needed in the middle, like a work study heteromorph arc to set up that plotline in the final arc and a 2nd year sports festival. With Midnight being their new home room teacher to make her death more impactful)
Than season 6, 7 and the 4th movie would take place in the begging of their 3rd year.
I feel like this is a lot better to pace things out. Like you said, too much crap has happened to all take place in their 1st year. Plus them being 3rd years would explain why the heroes would give the students more leeway to participate in a literal war. Plus it would be very interesting to see how students transition into becoming heroes, and we could’ve seen that with the Big 3. Possibly with Lemillion making it as one of the top ten pros or something.

I remember the exact moment he got that editor that everyone was panicking cause they knew how trash that editor was and the stuff he was known for doing. I remember Horokoshi was cooking straight fire from the beginning up until the final parts of the first war arc which is when he got that editor and then the series started to have the issues people complained about. I Strongly Disagree with the narrative that Deku having extra quirks doesn’t make him “analytical and quick witted” anymore. You make it sound like he doesn’t even need to try and use his brain during fights. It actually makes him a lot more quick witted and analytical. Sure he was a quick witted strategist before getting them, but most of his fights was really just Punch, kick, finger flick repeat.
The extra quirks he’s received opens doors to more possibilities of how to incorporate them into his strategies and it makes him even more quick witted, analytical and very creative with his strategies more than he’s ever been. Even going as far as to mix one of his quirks with another in a very interesting way that makes them more useful, similar to AFO.
His fight with Lady Nagant already proves what I’m saying. Using those quirks he came up with a great strategy in order to hide himself, distract her and get in close to her to beat her. And that’s just a taste of the creative strategies Deku pulls off. In the final arc his creative strategies gets even better. It also helps spice the fights up a bit instead of them just being all about punch harder and kick harder. It also helps integrate the previous OFA users into the story so we can know more about them and their stories, their encounters with AFO, while they play a role in the current story itself. Especially Nana Shimura knowing how important she is to the story.
Plus his enemy is literally a guy who has an OP decay quirk, hundreds of different other quirks, a body with the strength, speed and durability comparable to Prime All Might and he has something else up his sleeve I can’t spoil for season 7. So…I don’t see the harm in Deku getting several other quirks himself.

I strongly disagree with this because the Nagant fight wasn’t the last time we see him being analytical and he clearly did a lot more than just “throw OFA into Shiggy”. There still have been multiple times where we see him use his quirks analytically/efficiently against Shigaraki, even doing it in the heat of battle.
1. Combining both Black Whip and Fajin to create a stronger binding ability, called “Black Chain” that would hold Shiggy more effectively.
2. Using smokescreen to obscure Shiggy’s vision, danger sense to detect him in the smoke, float to gain instant hight, black whip to pull him up towards him, building up Fajin through a previous quintuple smash and using Fajin, Gearshift and OFA to deliver a massive blow to Shigaraki, leaving him with a hole in his chest. Pretty much using all these quirks in perfect synchronicity.
3. Wrapping himself up in a ball through Black Whip to reduce the damage he’ll take from Shiggy.
4. Using Black Whip to flex and extend his muscles manually within his body to quickly build up power for Fajin to use a Deleware Smash, preventing Decay from spreading any further to Mount Fuji.
5. Knowing Shigaraki stole Danger Sense. Deku combines gearshift to smokescreen in low gear holding the smoke in place, while using Black Whip as a distraction while Shiggy’s vision was obscured in order to set off a constant alarm of Danger Sense in Shiggy’s head in order to confuse him and land a hit that’ll hopefully buy time to store up more Fajin, unfortunately he forgets he has the search quirk and gets hit by Shiggy.
6. Using Black Whip to puppeteer his beaten up and Immobilized body so he can stay in the fight despite being in crippling agony and having trouble breathing. Even the 6th user acknowledges this quick witted behavior by saying “He’s instantly putting to use an idea he came up with in the heat of battle! What a wild way to use that quirk!”
7. While being sent flying and beaten on the ground, he shot multiple strands of Black Whip under ground and carved up a huge chuck of the ground to counter Shigaraki’s decay, preventing it from spreading any further. Similar to U.A’s anti decay defenses.
8. Deku exploited the fact that Shiggy can track him with search and sense him with Danger Sense, so by putting some of his blood in black whip using it and his cape as a distraction knowing search would zero in on his blood. By launching that blood straight at Shigaraki, he fell off his radar while setting off Danger Sense. With that and the help of some smoke screen, it made him misjudge Deku’s position and he was able to land a sneak attack.
9. Then we get to Deku transferring OFA in hopes it will psychologically beat Shigaraki.
As I’ve laid out, there have been multiple times especially in the final fight where Deku is clearly analytical in a fight, using his quirks in the most efficient way possible and sometimes in perfect synchronicity. The Nagant fight was not the last time we see him do this kind of stuff.

For me personally, it impacted me by just showing how smart and analytical Deku is in a fight, even against someone stronger than him like Shigaraki. It had me going “Wow! He actually thought of that?!” Which has been shown since his first actual fight with Bakugou. All the evidence I laid out just backs up my previous statement of how Deku having extra quirks *DON’T* take away from Deku being quick witted, analytical or efficient (like the person who made this video claimed it did), but instead still makes him more analytical, quick witted, creative and efficient with his strategies more than he’s ever been. Reading the manga for MHA right now is just watching hori make every slightly interesting aspect of his show incredibly boring. Every major point of interest set up before this arc just gets muddled down cause he refuses to go through with the direction he built on the first few seasons. I feel like MHA had the foundations to be the best modern shonen of its time, but Horikoshi was too scared to pull the trigger and decided to be safe, ultimately making the show only enjoyable due to its extremely good worldbuilding and concept.

The manga ended recently. He lost OFA, gave up on his dream, didn’t become the world’s greatest hero or #1 hero. He let 8 years go by & only decided to be a hero again because All Might gave him a mechanical suit.

Watching a few of the videos on this channel seems to only go for low hanging fruit. Like looked up reviews on what "correct shows" to watch to pretend to have taste and what shows are okay to dump on because the community agreed to it. Tbh, watching this show feels like a chore now. Im sorry but it's so garbage now. The wasted potential is insane! But what I hate more is the way the women are presented, that really takes the cake on how bad this show is.
This is what happens when the mangaka was burned out as hell and would rather glorify villains and claim they're misunderstood or redeemable instead. I highly doubt any of this would happen if the series and characters were given to writers that actually cared about writing good guys, like Araki Hirohiko or the writers at CoroCoro or Level-5, for example.

I personally always found Deku to be kinda unlikable. The only effort he put into being a hero prior to meeting AM was making notebooks on the powers of the heroes around him (How was that going to help him?), and he only started exercising when he was guaranteed to get the most powerful quirk in existence (guaranteeing that he would become the number 1 hero). Also his hero obsession is treated as a good thing within the story when in reality it's really creepy, all his hobbies and thoughts revolve around 'saving people with a smile' to which he is willing to nearly die for. It feels like he has no character outside of the desire to be a hero. Also his romance with Ochaco is the worst romance I've seen in fiction.
I won't try to convince you cause i guess it is one way to look at things but that has definitely got to be the worst way to interpret things for sure.Like for example, saying that he only puts in effort to get the most powerful quirk is a weird thing to say when it wasn't the most powerful quirk when he got it. He consistently put in effort throughout the show for it to get to "the strongest quirk in existence".
You can choose to look at the end product if you want to and call the journey meaningless but that is definitely not what the show ever shows.

In the first war using black whip to reinforce his muscles taking less damage from his 100% attacks, while using black whip plus float to keep Shigaraki in the air unable to use decay. Using Smoke-screen to obscure Lady Nagant’s vision, black whip to send out decoys to distract her while storing up Fa-Jin to get close to her. Constantly dodging repeatedly to store up Fa Jin, using centrifugal force from Black Whip and 45% to make faux 100% to match the same speed as All Might. I’m not sure if you’ve been paying attention or not, but he does do this quite often. And there’s plenty other examples, but I’m not gonna say incase you haven’t read the manga.
I’m very sorry for you falling out of love for the series. But look on the bright side. Maybe the anime will give MHA the great ending we all know it could have.

The problem with Izuku is that he is bland and a normie with a hero complex. He does not have anything unique to him that he worked hard to earn regardless of when he acquired his skills and abilities. Not only that but he has shown time and again to be ill suited to be a hero due to his mindset regarding his quirk since day 1 and hasn't changed since. He is essentially what happens when a side character or even a plot device is forced to become the MC and relies on other characters to carry him with him having any agency or impact like any MC do have.

I don't think they are doing it in the story but if you look at deku and Navel laser you can tell that Navel laser got his quirk from deku it makes sense fires and gravity if yiu look how the power is used in Navel laser his body can't handle it
