  • Angle Bracket sheet metal tutorial in Solidworks. Multi-hole angle bracket produced for manufacture using Solidworks 2022. Two methods of bending used (1) Sketch Bend (2) Edge Bend.
How to save the required DXF file for a solidworks 2022 edge flange feature.
This Solidworks tutorial will work for different versions of solidworks 2021 etc and this tutorial series also shows some solidworks tips and tricks . The object of the tutorials is to teach the basics of computer-aided engineering that is used in the fabrication sector with machines such as CNC equipment. This basic learning is the production of DXF files that is used in 2D machining and can be opened with programs such as draftsight.
Simple Practical tutorial to learn solidworks sheet metal.
    Features used:

I would like to thank you for watching my forth video that I published on TH-cam. If you find value in this video please consider subscribing and leave a comment. As the saying goes, your first videos will be your worst videos but everyone has to start somewhere. I am passionate about engineering and design and I would love for you to be part of my TH-cam journey. Thank you again, till next time.

If you haven't incorporated bending allowances or the k factor properly, your part will end up having different dimensions when fabricated, with holes not aligning according to the dimensions in the CAD

Hi Syed, This is exactly why K-factor and Bend Allowance is so important. If you produce a part, cut the material, fold the part and then try to fit it to another part the holes will be miss aligned. Usually making the part unusable. There are many ways around this, but all are based on the industry the part is designed for. If you are working with a manufacture that have fully up to date and calibrated equipment, then a k-factor should be easily acquired. If you are working with a 30 year old brake press, then it is a different situation and you either design components that attach together to reduce the need for accuracy, increase tolerances, or work out the K-factor as it is on the machine but take into account that both press rams could be pressing different pressures giving a variable K factor. The standard metal fabrication industry tolerances and the pharmaceutical industry stainless steel tolerances are very different. This means more time is spent working out K-Factors of stainless steel bending than mild steel bending but using standard air bending tables, knowing your v-dies and bending allowances will give a good effort. The real way to reduce the risk is to make one part first, adjust that part till it is correct and then produce the part. Lots of mistakes can be made with miss-calculation on computers. Thank for the comment Syed

Can I use this feature for bending cylindrical bar?

Hi, Its not really suitable, Try flex or sweep features if solid modelling but sketch bend if requiring a flat pattern but make sure your parameters are correct.

Hi Ali, Thank you for the comment. When using solidworks Sheet metal these are to powerful commands. Selecting the correct feature, really depends on what you need to achieve and when you need to achieve it. The sketch bend feature is excellent if you need to add a bend for clearance in a design, when a component change is required for example. مرسی

How do we enable realview graphics in solidworks 2022.

Hi Rohit, If your graphics card can support the real view feature. It is located at the top of the main work area under the toolbars and to the right, there is a screen (t.v) icon called view settings, under its drop down menu you will see the option for Real View Graphics as well as shadows, ambient, perspective and cartoon options. I don't use real view as it can be hard on the system when running large solidworks files. The thumb nail image is made using the build in photo 360 render program in your solidworks package.

My laptop is with nvidia 4 gb graphics card. And i checked there's no option for realview too

Hi Rohit, I had to up date my NVIDIA drivers during the week after a windows issue. When I downloaded the driver and installed - I found solidworks was acting up, so I went on to the NVIDIA website and downloaded the updated version they had. It resolved my issues, I think the driver's can also affect the real view graphics and the photo 360 parts of solidworks. It might be worth a look to see if your driver is solidworks compatible. Only an idea as this is not really my area of interest.
