This is another great box from Airfix. You will need to pay attention to a couple of things and be careful with some small pieces. A few pieces are very and I mean very delicate. Other than this a trouble free kit.
    Things to look out for
Step 4: If you are planning of using pieces B2-B5 then you will need first to drill the holes and then to cut and remove pieces from the fuselage. BE CAREFUL: Diagrams 4 and 5 tell you to cut 4 rectangle pieces. This is wrong. The back hatches are not rectangles.
Step 7: test it before gluing together the two halves. Here I had a problem, as the two halves of the fuselage did not close easily. You will have to work it or at the end, use putty.
Step 15: One of the pieces broke while trying to remove it from the sprue.
Step 16: Be careful removing A11 and A12. When you will remove the x holding the struts together avoid using a surgical knife cause they will break from using force. Try a precision plier.
This of course you will do after connecting the top wing.
Step 18: Both pieces broke while removing them so again be careful, very sensitive.
Step 20: Same as above. One of the pieces C7 and C8 broke.
Finally the rigging. Very clear directions. I did not do the inner rigging in front of the pilots. I just couldn’t get the string to stand in place. If you are planning of doing it maybe, you will have to think of a way before the whole plane is assembled. I did all the rigging for the wings and included the lines on the sides of the fuselage. The instructions call for a double line but I used only a single since it did not look right to me on this scale. If you will do this then add the side decals before.
Last the color. I used what the box says Humbrol 20. Noticed that most people like the box itself used bright red, Ferrari red and so on. Even on the back of the box the crimson red does not look like the actual color. I like though the color suggested and I am glad I used this. Beautiful plane.
