5:26 the new NX 1980 Work Region command is described after some general explanation! Looking forward your comments. Which experience have you made regarding the new Sketch Solver? Let me know and maybe I am going to mention your remark within the next videos (-: Have a nice day, Simon

Hello, we also use the new sketch solver now, and face essentially 3 major problems:
1.) old fully constrained sketches are now "partially constrained" after conversion - and often "partially constrained" rather means "overconstrained"
2.) It is quite exhausting to search for missing relations without being able to visualize the degrees of freedom/ the count of not yet defined relations
3.) Large sketches result in a major speed drop
I would be very glad, if some of these issues could also be portrayed in the next videos to some degree 🙂

      Hi Alex,
Are u using the NX 1926 major? Compared to later releases, the sketch renewal is resulting in partially defined results. This behavior has been enhanced at some aspects.
In former times I was a big fan of the auto dimensions to identify degrees of freedom and still missing the opportunity at some point. Did you change the color setting for underconstrained geometries? The default is black and brown, which makes is hard to identify degrees of freedom.
Sketches should be faster than before. Are you talking about renewed sketches with maybe external references? I have made the experience that the new sketch is faster as promised by Siemens.
When changing to a new release, it is always recommended to consider construction methods, ideally with help of external consulting and of course available training programs. You are working for Siemens - am I right? (-:
I will consider your remarks in the upcoming videos. Thanks for the input.

@@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training Hi, that was an accurate guess, indeed we are using 1926. Sad to hear, that it will only be repaired in later releases...
The speed drop was observed after conversion of large sketches, with high quantity of persistent relations - no external references included. And of course, we share the same sentiments with regards to the missing autodim. feature in NX...

Thanks Simon for uploading this video and welcome back.
I have some queries related to NX 1953. I don't know whether these things are overcome in NX1980 or not as i don't have this latest version with me.
1.)When creating new sketch there is no way to create an offset plane and also there is no option to orient the coordinate system of sketch. This cause rotation of whole assembly when i am going to create sketch in Top down assmebly.
2.) I am not able to find the command called Animate Dimension. This command help me in animating the linkage in 2D sketch.
Now i have to do this via edit parameter command but not able to animate in that.
3.) For accessing Lines and arcs toolbar i have to go to insert-Curve-Lines and Arcs & then select the command but in NX 10 whole Lines and Arcs toolbar can be shown in top command bar. This is not possible in NX 1953.
These are some of my queries, it would be great if you cover them in your next session.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    thanks for the new video!
I have a question, what do you think about the simplification in the Create Sketch feature?

      You're welcome - in NX 1980, the're is now an additonal opportunity to define a position similar to the opportunity in older versions. But in my opinion, you should always reference a Sketch to a Datum CSYS instead of creating references to geometry. The new opportunity is nice to have, but I wouldn't use it. A video is planned, concerning the renewal^^ Stay tuned (-;

Hello. I see the new Sketch as very confusing technology. It's looks that Marketing here wins Engineering.
I see today (1984) these major problems:
    1. I can't see Constraints on building sketch. Especially it’s important for Constraints to Included Curves. It cause to unknown links and to possible unneeded links.
    2. If I need to delete Constraints for specified geometry partially - it's very unfriendly.
    3. How I can make Vertical\Horizontal Constraints between points?
    4. Why moving curve linked to Included Curve out of the Included Curve broke the link?

Hi Vadim, did you participate a training concerning the new solver already? Of course things are different, but after 1 year of experience, I see more advantages compared to the old sketcher. I think, comparing both is not a good idea, as methods have to be evaluated and changed.

@@Bizlearn_Siemens_NX_Training Hi. Yes, we (I represent here group of users) learn it. We checked versions until 1996. I see that many problems that was in 1946 now closed, but I see also a number of concepts in new Sketch that make it very unfriendly.
I back to my problems list:
      1. I can't see Found Constraints on building sketch. Especially it’s important for Constraints to Included Curves. It cause to unknown links and to possible unneeded links.
      2. We have 2 different types of Relations: Found relation (“weak”) an Persistent relation (“strong”).
      a. Found relations are very weak - any move can remove it. We have here 2 groups of Found Relations: Coincident, Horizontal & Vertical (line) are strong enough, but others (Point on Curve, Tangent, Symmetric, Horizontal & Vertical (points) ) are so weak.
      b. Persistent Relations. The problem is - I can’t open Persistent Relations automatically, I must build it.
      3. If I need to delete Found Relations for few geometries partially - it's very unfriendly. I can do it only one by one.
      4. Sketch dimensions does not exists for Expressions Table
      5. Creation Rapid Dimension doesn’t get possibility to change size immediately.
