    Chris thanks for the review and bringing this bile to our attention. FYI -the distorted wide angle was a bit annoying when trying to make out the features and real looks of the bike but enough for me to google for specs and detailed photos. Even at only 157cc sounds like its enough to zip around a big guy and still be light and agile. It is liquid cooled 4 stroke, 1 cylinder. adjustable wind screen interesting. Didn’t find fuel capacity and range info. Try a standard lens for objects like this. Wide angle good for Context but not everything.

    Chris, love your motorcycle vlogs. I just moved from Arizona to Leyte this past Thursday, already went to the LTO got my Philippines License and stopped by a Honda Dealer just before Ormoc. They only charged me P164500 or about $2960 USD. The bike costs $4699 in America. They told me it would take two months for the registration, but I take small rides within the Barangay. Hopefully, I get mine in a month like I see your friend did there in the video...already plated and ready to go. I use the Insta360 X3 and love it. I just need to get my motorcycle kit out of luggage and attach that bad boy clamp. When I do the reframing in the studio I select that wide selection at the far right end of the popup and that helps eliminate the curvature people notice when using a 360 camera. The ADV 160 is a versatile machine. My American brain was telling me I wanted a 750ADV, but the ADV160 is good enough.

      @@Jupizero I thought about getting one, but when I sat on it the suspension felt really squishy and testing it I was like it needs foot pegs and bar riser because my knees were pretty much right there. Then when you get it up over 30 you start red lining. Honda in general makes great engines. So, if you don't want to go fast and just ride around then the XR is ok, but it looks like you should be riding it in the jungles of the Philippines because it has the dirt bike facade, but then again you run into that suspension issue. However, like you said it is cheap in the Philippines @$1716USD and economical. But for the thrill factor I have been really enjoying the ADV160. Honda is great either way.

    Overhyped microwave on donut wheels. First of all, according to Crowns' vlog and some other reviews, electronics will start failing apart in 1 year. Still no clearance, despite being called "adv", no serious off-roading on this heavy/bulky unit. For like 10-20k php more you can already buy such time-proven titans as Duke 200 or Gixxer 250 (or CRF150L for even less), and those are truly versatile machines.

    • @iyeldelacruz6135
      @iyeldelacruz6135 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      He said it's "a perfect bike for the Philippines"
      Adv is one of the most sold units here in the Philippines. Heavy traffic jams are usual here so having an automatic scooter like this is more ideal. Constant managing of gears/clutch in a manual motorcycle is tiring if stuck in a traffic here which is common. Also automatic scooters makes it easier to weave between cars.

    • @albrechtniemann8027
      @albrechtniemann8027 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@iyeldelacruz6135 Sure, but if you're afraid of traffic jams and you drive primarily in cities, you can get ANY scooter and it will do just fine. If you live outside bigger cities, no point for this. Ah and yes, I forgot to mention that you can also get CB150x for like 15k extra, which is an actual ADV already.

    • @nextgenerationrider
      @nextgenerationrider 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ll agree with you that the ADV moniker has become meaningless, but maybe that’s the point. For a lot of riders this IS the right bike for adventure. BTW, Did you happen to compare the ground clearances of those models you mentioned?

    • @albrechtniemann8027
      @albrechtniemann8027 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@nextgenerationrider It's around 15cm for Duke, 16.5cm for Gixxer 250, 28cm for CRF150, 18cm for CB150x. 15cm is already decent for a versatile naked like Duke, provided you have good AT tyres. At least, Indians do crazy rides on those. If it comes down to extreme muddy off-road, of course you can't beat dual-sports, but their problem is, they're not pillion-friendly unless heavily modified (XR150L being an exception here, wish most other models regardless of CC could have such seats).

    • @JimX218
      @JimX218 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Oh my, The Duke 200 and Gixxer are both HORRIBLE bikes to be on for more than an hour.
      That's total nonsense Honda's electronics will fail within a year. Do they SOMETIMES have issues, yes! Any modern day bike can fail.
      ADV 350 would be my choice also BUT it's not imported to the Philippines. You can get one on the grey market, but 10k U. S.
      I like the ADV 160 for city but not enough power when loaded up and out passing slow trucks in the hills.
      We all have our choices and opinions and no one is right.
      I'm leaning towards the XMAX simply for a bigger scooter feel, comfort, torque and storage. Ground clearance sucks but I'm not into off road. It'll handle the occasional gravel/bumper road with enough comfort for two up.
      Good video. Wish you would have asked what the brand/size of the top box was on his VERY nice bike.

    How is the passing power in a hilly terrain, if you want to overtake a big bus going uphill? My brother-n-law got a Yamaha 155 scooter (NMax, I think) and on our trips I saw him sometimes struggling. I had to ride in front to clear the situation over the intercom. Otherwise he had the advantage of having storage. I had only my backpack and a 3 liter "hole" under my seat. But when I am riding, I am not into hauling tons of things.... just wanna ride
    I also feel more safe on a big bike, compared to the usual scooters and small bikes, since size matters on PH streets. It is PH psychology, that authority is respected. And this translates also into traffic here. With a big bike you get less frequently cut off by cars, unless it is a van, a bus, a SUV or a truck. They are big and demand respect also from a big bike. But with a small bike, you are at the bottom of the food chain.

    • @iyeldelacruz6135
      @iyeldelacruz6135 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Adv performs fine on hilly areas. Nmax on the other hand can only be reliable on city roads. I owned both of them.
      And when it comes to "traffic food chain"😆 you'll be surprised that smaller slimmer scooters are usually the king of the roads here lol. Don't expect big cars or big bikes rule the road here😆. Bulldogs don't matter here, terriers swarm the roads here😆

      @@CarefreeChris So be it. Never did ride one of them. I only remember my tour with my brother in law, going from down Taal lake up to Tagaytay, an extremely steep and winding route. He arrived with his Nmax, but it had to fight a bit taking the narrow and steep curves. For city traffic it is more than well-equipped, no doubt.
      On the other hand, I was pointing out the safety aspect and difference between big and small bikes. Unfortunately, I cannot find my reply to Mr. Delacruz6135, where I put down my thoughts to this topic. And I am too lazy, to repeat it 🤜🤣🤛.

      @@iyeldelacruz6135 True.... That's why I changed my horn on my bike to something more "impressive". It blows the neighbours out of their afternoon siesta dreams. But if you can add a big bike to the horn, it is way more reassuring. Try it and you will see. It is more fun to ride a big bike, at least for me. But there is nothing wrong to use a small bike. I have my qualms with the safety aspect. On a note: My niece was mangled to death on her 110 cc scooter years ago by a truck, who was speeding and did not see her. If a bigger bike would have prevented the disaster, I don't know. Somewhat likely, but not sure. When I was still on my 125 cc and later my 200 cc bikes, I had more close calls than with my 1100 cc. People are more reckless towards smaller bikes than bigger bikes. This is my observation of 11 years of motorcycling here in Cebu province and Luzon.
      My take for any bike: Be careful when riding and ride defensively and proactive. Not like a terrier. This is a recipe for disaster. If you want to see a Pinoy bike-terrier on his Kawasaki H2 racing through northern Manila and Pampanga, take a look at his channel, called "REED". He has 1.8 M subs and is still alive. Not advisable what he is doing.
