Mike you’re a great communicator. This is a very helpful and essential video. I’ve never seen the topic discussed like this. I’ve known a few guys who left the country because they couldn’t find an amicable way to end a dating relationship. Emotions are very high in the Philippines. For me I took many months getting a lay of the emotional landscape and knowing the Phillipines laws and differences from the US before I got into anything. That was a very wise decision on my part. Jumping into a relationship right off the plane is real danger. For me I say there are only two speeds to my daring, slow and stop. I personally would never ask anyone to move in with me unless I was truly ready to settle down and i had spent YEARS knowing a Filipina AND her family. I’m a cautious mature guy. It seems Bob learned his lesson. I don’t think he’s a bad guy. He just changed his mind. I appreciate you being objective Mike. You presented this experience in a way men have an opportunity to learn from. Thank you for your effort. Best to you and Janet 🙏🏼
Bob is a selfish bastard no matter what country he's in. The police were more than fair initially. And just so you know, bail is non refundable there. He has more lessons to learn trust me. The grass only looks greener from the other side of the fence. All these "options" he thought he had will no longer be available. Bob is a foreigner, who severely mistreated a citizen and put her child in jeopardy. Bob uprooted the girl from her job (a precious commodity there) and will have a really hard time finding another partner except for the ones who will stay long enough to drain his funds.provided he has any left. There is no way he is going to put this behind him, not in the Philippines. We can hope this doesn't follow him to the next country he decides to settle in I doubt charges will be dropped and the process will take a very long time. The family was also offended if you know the culture, so Bob hurt quite a few people. You may think this is an exaggeration and time will tell. No Mike, while I appreciate your optimism, I don't think this will go away for Bob.
I disagree, hit another island block the family on social media. The relationship is done. The only way this follows him is if the family or the girl spread it and laws work both ways thankfully in the Philippines, slander is a huge offense. When the brother or father make a physical threat bye bye go talk to police and report their ass on the blotter. Dont live in fear if you have a relationship end
@woutergijs5246 honestly if anything from my experiences and that of friends, the fact Kelly is a gold digging bitch who tried to claim suffering when all that happened was end of relationship. Many decent women will want bob if he is honest. Most women in the Philippines that are not in their 20s abd are truly not gold diggers will understand bob and truly be ok with him
F'g Bob. Bob F'd Up. Bob is an A-hole. He needs to learn a good lesson or he will repeat this action over and over again. He has no scruples and though he can get away with this just cuz he was in the Philippines. What a Ya-hoo.
Bob did everything wrong with his partner. There was a child with his girlfriend. What animal kicks to the curb a Mom and her daughter without any warning or discussion? I truly hope Bob pays a huge fine and is blacklisted. However, his ex gf may decide to drop charges with a court settlement.

I dated my gf for 3 years in the Philippines before we got married in the USA. Now over 11 years later being married, she’s perfect for me. When Bob moved, he took her & her child with him, he was obligated to take care of them. When he got angry, he should have asked her to move back to Moms home but also offer a sum of support she would need. Anger made Bob make the wrong choice. Can you imagine how the child felt ? I would have never put myself in such a situation. And Bob, your too old for temptation 😂 you should have grown a pair years ago 💝

Foreigners still get trapped EVEN by girl bars in Pattaya and AC. I am sure her nbox is full by now 😂😂😂 *edit*: now after listening to the entire video, Bob is a d^ck. Actually the woman and kid will get lots of sympathy. In any case this news is not on CNN, only a few foreigners will hear of it ...and still as I said, Bob seems go be at fault here.
Bob was being a typical idiot and deserves what he gets.. Got tired of her but brings her down to her home area with the kid and then just kicks them out with nothing. He is very lucky it could go a lot worse. Sadly there are a lot of older men just going to Philippines with this same attitude....he could have moved on but treating her with respect and dignity....Once a jerk always a jerk!! Just my opinion
I grew up in rural America in the 50s and 60s.. everyone knew everyone and all of the girls had fathers and most of them had brothers.. if you mistreated a girl verbally the girl's father and brothers would beat the hell out of you.. we do not even want to talk about if you mistreated a girl physically.. thats when people disappear.. that still goes on in the Philippines.. if you mistreat the right wrong girl you will get a visit from two guys on a motorcycle wearing helmets and carrying 45 ACP's.. please keep up with Bob because his days are numbered and I would love to see how his story ends.. "The Grand tour" George Jones.. some girl is going to flip the coin on Bob and he's going to take The Grand tour..😮😢😅😊
Thing is - we can’t on the one hand think “I want a traditional woman who will stay home, not working and just concentrate on looking after the house, me, and staying beautiful”… and on the other hand think “we’ve split, she can look after herself.” Be a man and recognise you’ve demanded she be dependent on you - you have to provide the parachute before kicking her from the plane. And that’s before you even consider the totally innocent child that’s had her life uprooted twice in just a few months.
If Bob had of taken care of his ex and her daughter in the first place, he wouldn't have to pay all the legal fees and he would have been doing the right thing. You reap what you sow...
This was my main problem in the Philippines when I was there. There are just too many attractive women. I still don't know how guys stay in relationships there. I know I wouldn't be able to do it 🤔
What happened to sitting down with your girlfriend for a serious talk and split up amicably? And yes, Bob certainly owed her some money to get back on her feet, as she went along with his idea to move to another island. Especially when there's a child involved, whose safety and well being should be your first priority.
Yes! Probably a bit too optimistic to think you can have an amicable split-up with a Filipina, but otherwise I totally agree with you. He owed her. In essence, he made an "I'll take care of you" contract with her and her child. At a minimum, he should have left her in the same circumstances he found her. NOT on the street with no money, and no where to go!
Mike, at least Bob has stepped up and helped her out, but I think that he should be helping her more. Hopefully, her daughter went back to her parents.
These are just the preliminary costs, so far. He hasn't even seen a trial yet. He better hope that this Filipina still has some kindness in her heart for him.
@@mikesphilippineretirement That's kinda like most criminals, that become the most remorseful people in the world, AFTER they're convicted. Sorry for committing the crime, or sorry that they were caught??
Oh, yeah, what a man! The only reason he's "helped her" is to try and keep his own ass out of jail. Had the police not been involved, he'd have just left her swinging in the breeze.
Very good advice. As a man who has experiened divorce in the U.S. I learned it is always best to walk away peacefully after having the talk and be ready to accept your losses. In other words, always have an emergency backup plan in case things don't workout. But be a gentleman by never hurting nor putting your ex in a bad position regardless of her actions. That way no one can ever say that you did something wrong.
Always leave them better off than when you found them. Have a heart. There is always going to be temptation and it's best to get that out of your system before you move anyone into your home. Great video and follow up. Thanks.
Don't raise expectations.. I have 4 girls that I know and visit periodically and I have found that honesty is the best policy.. they call me Paro Paro and I accept and acknowledge the significance of that name.. there are no illusions in my relationships.. they don't like to lose face or be embarrassed in front of their family... Discrete, hushed relationships... As long as they enjoy themselves and I treat them with respect... Take care y'all
Temptation is not outside one’s self. The external is neutral-it’s the inner thoughts about the external that need addressing and a shift. God, help me to see this differently is a good prayer to address the inner desires
Great vlog Mike! I viewed both parts, I agree with you that he got out cheaply considering his initial reactions. I’m guessing that he received great guidance from his attorney, he was smart to follow that guidance! Thanks Mike!

I just ended a relationship with a Filipina 4 days after arriving from the Philippines. It got so bad few weeks before my anticipated return to the US. She was screaming and yelling at her kids including myself from morning till bedtime and repeated the next day. She has stubborn undisciplined children perhaps due to absence of father figure. I realized that I wasnt ready to share my space and relinquish my independence living alone. I have many more plans in my 70+ years such as travelling within the US on my travel trailer. Wish I hadnt bought a home, I could live like a nomad on my travel trailer visiting different national parks and camping. Im done with kids dont need any headache. Im sorry I broke up unexpectedly from her but I have no choice when I observed I didnt want her kids in my household and her constant nagging. Glad had a chancr to observe all that during our 3 months together. It was ugly living to me.
It's not the absence of the Father that makes children so terrible. It's the quality of the Mother. Logically, how could it be the Father's fault they are raised as spoiled gremlins? He's never there to do any influencing. It's the person (the Mother) who's in charge 24/7 that's responsible. Modern day society blames it on the Father not being around so as to shield the bad Mother from blame. You saw first hand what that woman was like to you. Is it any wonder here kids are terrible?
LOL, That is funny but sadly true. But I can"t throw any stones since I live in southern Wv. Hoping to go to the Philippines for a month to see what all the excitement is about.
Why? I married a single mom and so far 8 years happily married. Step daughter is best friend with my niece and very popular at school and with my relatives. She is so talented, speak 3 languages, good grades at school and so on. Getting instant family is a joy which selfish people like Bob and you cannot fully appreciate.
I came to the Philippines the entire month of August 2024…met a girl online and she met me at the airport (mistake). I feel Bob’s pain. After a week in the Philippines I couldn’t get rid of that girl fast enough. So many beautiful women.
The biggest thing here for everyone to learn from is take your time you’re time getting to know each other before committing, think ahead don’t do anything without thinking about the consequences, you have the right to leave any relationship just do it in a way that you believe is a just and fair way to both parties.
What Bob did was wrong. He deserves to pay financial restitution. He obviously didn't care for them, only cares about himself.Whst comes around, goes around.
Hey...not sure if you realize...but those DJI mics come with low pass enabled...which make them sound tinny ..you might turn that off to get a fuller sound. Love your channel
As a man you should not ask a woman move in with you unless you want to marry them. However after you do and if it does not work out take care of her right and it should not go bad.
Its 21st century. Half of the people live together without being married. Do you still live in medieval times? Times when you got married at 18 are long gone. And you should first live in together to know if you are compatible living together and than get married. Getting married before living together is big risk.
Why is this so hard to understand? You are in another culture and you get involved with a women that is trying to live a better life whether she has children on not. You are an upgrade with the ability to make her life better. Then you ask her to move in with you and give up a job that is paying her bills. You ask her to quit her job and devote all of her time to you. Then after a period of time you change your mind for whatever reason. She thinks she owns you, she cheats, she asks for to much money, and you just want to move on. You owe it to her to at least bring her back to where she was when she met you. Yeah it costs you 100,000 pesos or more. You have the money so just chalk it up to experience and move on. Its so simple.
Mike, maybe not there but admitting he was looking elsewhere for a woman while she was still in his home can be used by the prosecute in any Western scenario. Maybe remove that part? In any case I hope he gets a bigger slap on the wrist he is a jerk.
I left my ex pretty well off, a house and a car, it was worth it to escape. I did what Mike said, I just left, went back to the US till the smoke cleared.

If a Filipina (with a children) is found by her foreigner lying to him , how should the breakup be ? Filipina lives in her moms house, she herself decided to quit job. The foreigner decided to live with Filipina in her communiity . Foreigner discovered he has been lied , and kept in dark. How should this be handled? Must foreigner go police station to explain or to a lawyer?
You say " we all want women to live with us " why ? Once you are living with them you are under their control. The pleasure of the relationship just dies. Live apart it keeps the relationship fresh , sex continues to be exciting and you have no responsibility.
I would just pack my bags on the down low and just move somewhere else where she won’t know where I’m at or just buy a plane ticket back to the states.
Bob uprooted a woman and child from their lives and put them on the street, without means, because he was bored. He deserves some jail time. Bob is a horrible person.
He may not be completely out of the woods. She gave up her job for him at his request, and their judicial proceedings to include his lawyer could collectively string him along. It will hinge on how vengeful she becomes over time. What, you couldn't sing the words to that Paul Simon song??
Interesting story. Bob is probably a good person who had a bad experience with his lady. One thing I've learned in the Philippines, "Stop thinking like an American " Things are different there than here. Hopefully she will find another guy & they can both move forward. Life is 1 big learning experience.
How can you say he is a good person when he kicked her out with her child who was probably settled in at a new school .He only offered to give her 50000 pesos after his lawyer suggested it.

A big no no is to marry a single mum, unless you want to raise someone elses child for the restvof your life. The kids take up a hell of a lot of time and resources.
Thanks for the update! My two cents is: Date a girl for 4-5 mos before having her move in?!?! Nah...better date her for at least a year! I know guys, especially retirees, might feel like they are on of a bit of an accelerated timeline or find themselves caught up in the emotional and/or physical frenzy of dating some cute younger woman and thinking, "YOLO!!!" (You only live once) But you gotta let life experience prevail to protect yourself and the other person. Look at the Bob situation. Not only is his life in a twist, but so is the life of the woman involved. He's got legal i$$ue$, and she's got to go put her life back together. Be like Kwai Chang Caine and walk slowly over the rice paper and try not to leave any damage!
Bob doesn't take any prisoners. Don't mess with the Bobster. Do not call the Bobster's bluff. That's a cruel law. Local laws always favour the locals. Bob does it his way. Women should treat their men better so it doesn't come to this. Nobody got hurt, just a little discomfort for a night. The Bobster ain't simping for nobody. I'm proud of that man. Women, don't bite the hand that feeds.
I agree with you, your proposal is the best👍 Bob has to pay a big fine because he did a ruthless action. She didn't deserve that selfish action, she left her job to be with him.She has a daughter and he should have been like her father. He is guilty 👎
Yes, Bob was foul. Not want her to be there is fine but not to put her especially with a child out on the streets. He should have sent her back to where she came from gave her a couple of dollars and been done with it. And in the Philippines when you post bail, that 40,000 pesos, the court keeps it, you don't get it back. Ever. Be decent people and life will treat you better.
What like 125k pesos plus a plane ticket so far because he saw other pretty girls and wanted to be single? That was a poor decision made by a man in his 60's.
Great video Mike. I thought this part of the act was pretty funny. (3) Entering or remaining in the dwelling or on the property of the woman or her child against her/his will; So we can't stay in her place against her will, but she can stay in our place against our will. I'm married to a filipina, and she quotes this act with me. I bet Philippine men are hardly ever charged with this. But if you're a foreigner, they will throw the book at you.
Dudes get a trust fund for your assets money and don't get married get a girlfriend believe me as long as you have money she won't leave you also never ever buy land in the Philippines foreigners can never ever legally own land in the Philippines also get a vasectomy your old already right so you don't want child support for 26 years do this or regret it for the rest of your life 👍
I wouldn't have done that to a child. Im all for dating/marrying a girl who has kids but it comes with additional responsibilities that are just part of being a man. I am wondering if the police had made it clear that he could be committing a crime when they forst talked to him. If they did and he simply chose to ignore them, it was a pretty stupid choice. If not, he probably didn't know. Either way, children should never be treated that way.and we all need to consider the children very carefully BEFORE getting involved with any woman. However, if he absolutely had to dropp this relationship, the best way, as you said, would have been to take off himself.
Sad for both party's. What Bob did or how he did it, was so wrong. Hopefully the judge will be lenient with him after correcting his mistake. But could also be the end of his stay in the Philippines. Most certainly the court will hand over his file to immigration. Being thrown out of a country will stay on his passport. Making it difficult to go to another country possibly. As he will have to declare the reasons why. He may get lucky and stay without further action.
I don't think it's a bad decision, I think it's downright cruel to just kick out a live in girlfriend who's a mom of a young child, who quit her job when the job market it brutal over there! Especially because he just wanted to be single? I would like to see him deported, because he really lacks basic empathy. Personally, I would've tried to see about getting her job back, a months income, plus extra to re-settle.
Bob now knows his mistake that cost him was due to the way he evicted his girlfriend and her daughter. He could have dealt with this in a different and calmer way and got agreement by paying the plane tickets and maybe 30k pesos. I think the humid heat can cause us to think irrationally sometimes, when you're back home on home soil later it all seems like a gripe about nothing much. But all in all he had to cough up 130k or 140k pesos, it still is not a lot to regain your freedom. Peso is so small, people often make the old mistake and think tens of thousand of pesos as tens of thousands of dollars. Peso is only 2 cents. The whole cost of settling the complaint was only less than $2,500 or £2,000, I would gladly give that amount up not to spend any time in a Philippines jail and get the hell out of the country. I can be a "hot head" too and definitely have encountered times where I would love to kick up a fuss and cause a scene if I have been seriously wronged, but I think first and manage to keep a lid on it and stop the fuse from blowing. Saved me grief and money, wasted money maybe but the thousands of Pesos are no big deal at the end of the day
That probably happens more in Philippines than you think. I would just silently start planning my exit from the country, walk out a free man and decide from there what to do
If you cannot learn to adapt to the environment you CHOOSE to live in, then best not to come and live here. There is a way to behave here to get things done and it isn't shouting and turfing people out on the street.
Bob, Bob, Bob... supporting a person is one thing, be clear loving someone and leading them on to destruction of a life is another thing. Very childish of Bob to act like that. Even if your a foreigner always read the fine print. Respect all the land of the country.

You presented this experience in a way men have an opportunity to learn from. Thank you for your effort. Best to you and Janet 🙏🏼

He shouldn't have ever made that big a move, especially in another country.
His is a cautionary tale.

Thing is - we can’t on the one hand think “I want a traditional woman who will stay home, not working and just concentrate on looking after the house, me, and staying beautiful”… and on the other hand think “we’ve split, she can look after herself.”
Be a man and recognise you’ve demanded she be dependent on you - you have to provide the parachute before kicking her from the plane.

What happened to sitting down with your girlfriend for a serious talk and split up amicably? And yes, Bob certainly owed her some money to get back on her feet, as she went along with his idea to move to another island. Especially when there's a child involved, whose safety and well being should be your first priority.
That is what he did

Very good advice. As a man who has experiened divorce in the U.S. I learned it is always best to walk away peacefully after having the talk and be ready to accept your losses.

Its 21st century. Half of the people live together without being married. Do you still live in medieval times? Times when you got married at 18 are long gone.

I know guys, especially retirees, might feel like they are on of a bit of an accelerated timeline or find themselves caught up in the emotional and/or physical frenzy of dating some cute younger woman and thinking, "YOLO!!!" I wouldn't have done that to a child.
Thanks for sharing. It does have a lot of responsibilities when you have a girl with a kid move in with you
Sad for both party's.
