I've lived here in the states all my life.i was rejected all my life. ( I was told more than once that I was too proper. And im a good looking guy!) if I knew the Philippines the way I do now back then, I would've met a philipina and I WOULD NOT HAVE DISCARDED HER FOR ANY REASON. unless it was her cheating. @@mikesphilippineretirement friendly reminder to expats who, a very small minority, are entitled a**holes like bob giving everyone a bad name. The Philippines like many asian countries may appear to have, generally docile friendly law abiding and respectful citizens but if you think you can get away with anything including harming local children worse, actively participating in child sexual abuse, I say FAFO. Just think about it, their previous president Duterte didn't execute seven thousand "drug pushers" at night in less than 7 months leaving their bloodied mess on the streets the following morning, without the help from hundreds or thousands of maybe hardcore killers within their law-enforcement, military institutions and for-hire in the general population. They could feel safe in large cities in the northern islands and if they get a lawyer right away but idk if in remote middle and southern islands. The Philippines, surrounded by water can easily make anyone disappear without a trace and not have to worry about some foreign embassy getting in the way of their justice.

Bob is a selfish bastard no matter what country he's in. The police were more than fair initially. And just so you know, bail is non refundable there. He has more lessons to learn trust me. The grass only looks greener from the other side of the fence. All these "options" he thought he had will no longer be available. Bob is a foreigner, who severely mistreated a citizen and put her child in jeopardy. Bob uprooted the girl from her job (a precious commodity there) and will have a really hard time finding another partner except for the ones who will stay long enough to drain his funds.provided he has any left. There is no way he is going to put this behind him, not in the Philippines. We can hope this doesn't follow him to the next country he decides to settle in I doubt charges will be dropped and the process will take a very long time. The family was also offended if you know the culture, so Bob hurt quite a few people. You may think this is an exaggeration and time will tell. No Mike, while I appreciate your optimism, I don't think this will go away for Bob.

I disagree, hit another island block the family on social media. The relationship is done. The only way this follows him is if the family or the girl spread it and laws work both ways thankfully in the Philippines, slander is a huge offense. When the brother or father make a physical threat bye bye go talk to police and report their ass on the blotter. Dont live in fear if you have a relationship end

Be a man and recognise you’ve demanded she be dependent on you - you have to provide the parachute before kicking her from the plane.

He underestimated her and that’s the CONSEQUENCE of being an A**hole.

When Bob moved, he took her & her child with him, he was obligated to take care of them. Mike you’re a great communicator. This is a very helpful and essential video. I’ve never seen the topic discussed like this. I’ve known a few guys who left the country because they couldn’t find an amicable way to end a dating relationship. Emotions are very high in the Philippines. For me I took many months getting a lay of the emotional landscape and knowing the Phillipines laws and differences from the US before I got into anything. That was a very wise decision on my part. Jumping into a relationship right off the plane is real danger. For me I say there are only two speeds to my daring, slow and stop. I personally would never ask anyone to move in with me unless I was truly ready to settle down and i had spent YEARS knowing a Filipina AND her family. I’m a cautious mature guy. It seems Bob learned his lesson. I don’t think he’s a bad guy. He just changed his mind. I appreciate you being objective Mike. I feel really sorry for that poor filipina. That was a HORRIBLE way to treat her!
You do not USE a woman then discard her like garbage. Women are humans, REAL PEOPLE.
If a man was to kick his 6 month old dog out onto the streets, he'd be a monster. To do that to a woman after months together is far, far worse.
To do that to a child??? That is utterly inexcusable. If I were the judge, I'd ask the man if he would like to be expelled from my country or if he prefers fixing himself. He he wanted to stay, I'd fine him , then lock him up for at least 30 days, 90 would be appropriate.
If he wanted to leave and be done with the country, then fine. Let him go with a fine and make sure he gets blacklisted from returning.
    Bob IS SHAMEFUL!
I would not even want him back in my country, yet as a citizen, I guess he must be allowed to return.

I just ended a relationship with a Filipina 4 days after arriving from the Philippines. It got so bad few weeks before my anticipated return to the US. She was screaming and yelling at her kids including myself from morning till bedtime and repeated the next day. She has stubborn undisciplined children perhaps due to absence of father figure. I realized that I wasnt ready to share my space and relinquish my independence living alone. I have many more plans in my 70+ years such as travelling within the US on my travel trailer. Wish I hadnt bought a home, I could live like a nomad on my travel trailer visiting different national parks and camping. Im done with kids dont need any headache. Im sorry I broke up unexpectedly from her but I have no choice when I observed I didnt want her kids in my household and her constant nagging. Glad had a chancr to observe all that during our 3 months together. It was ugly living to me.

It's not the absence of the Father that makes children so terrible. It's the quality of the Mother. Logically, how could it be the Father's fault they are raised as spoiled gremlins? He's never there to do any influencing. It's the person (the Mother) who's in charge 24/7 that's responsible.
Modern day society blames it on the Father not being around so as to shield the bad Mother from blame.
You saw first hand what that woman was like to you. Is it any wonder here kids are terrible?

You are an upgrade with the ability to make her life better. Then you ask her to move in with you and give up a job that is paying her bills. You ask her to quit her job and devote all of her time to you. Then after a period of time you change your mind for whatever reason. She thinks she owns you, she cheats, she asks for to much money, and you just want to move on. You owe it to her to at least bring her back to where she was when she met you. Yeah it costs you 100,000 pesos or more. You have the money so just chalk it up to experience and move on. Its so simple.
