  • Back to routine track day footage. This was my best lap from Thunderhill 5-Mile (West Bypass). This was from the first session and I never improved throughout the rest of the day, as temperatures increased significantly. Still feels like there’s quite a lot of margin to improve. Had some trouble being consistent over the length of the these laps. Makes Joe’s laps all the more impressive!

The oil pressure always goes down when he turns to the right. Maybe it's an oil circulation issue .

Where do you guys get the sx2 225 45 17 tires, it seems they are out of stock nationwide

I seem to have bought the last ones in the country from OnlineTires. It's a problem affecting us at 86DC as well...

They last quite a while. I got them earlier this year.

I found the same issue with sourcing the SX2. Since I’m not competing in a classed bracket, I went with RS4 (for heat tolerance, longevity, and decent lateral grip without overwhelming stock spring rates or XP12 front pads).

I’ve been hearing about these tires everywhere what so special about them?

@@Shinigami_1320 Not sure which tires you're asking about, but both have excellent longevity and good consistency for long track sessions. The RS4 is in the 200TW class, but has less outright pace than many other 200TW (RE-71Rs, A052, RT660, etc.), but withstands greater amounts of heat for longer stretches of time on track. They need to build heat over a few laps, but then can hang for quite a while. I've been hearing the Kumho V730 has nearly the pace of the higher-paced 200TW tires but with better wear and longevity characteristics (still not quite as long-lasting or heat resistant as RS4 though). Haven't tried V730 yet.

Yes, I cover that in the final observations in this video: th-cam.com/video/8YoVsDFpaTA/w-d-xo.html
